As I have mentioned a few times here, I am new to scrapping. I started in January. I love it. I have finally found my hobby....it only took until I was 42, but anyway........

DH surprised me with a Big Shot in March. I like it a lot. However, when I started realizing how much a die cut machine would help me in scrapping, I had pretty much decided that I would buy myself a Cricut in a few months time. Then the Big Shot surprise arrived.

Now we're 84 days out from our WDW trip, and I know I'll be doing a whole album about the trip....I even have the album already:). If DH hadn't bought the Big Shot, I'd be going to AC Moore tomorrow to see if I could get a Cricut at a good price, since I really want the Disney cartridges after seeing so many of the cool things people on here have done with them.

Here's the $64,000 question......should I go buy it anyway:confused3 ? Our upcoming trip is already paid for, so I'm not using potential WDW money to fund the purchase.

Thoughts, anyone? I don't know if I want you to talk me into this or out of it, but an honest opinion is always appreciated.

I don't know much about the Big Shot, but I love my Cricut. (I know, not much of a help.) I have the Mickey and Friends cartridge and I love it. There is so many "extras" on it- I feel I will use it for more than just my Disney albums. I find that everytime I go to scrap, I am pulling out the Cricut. I have been in a bit of a scrapping funk and my little bug has helped me through it!

I absolutely love my circut! Yes, I'm an enabler. :goodvibes

I have both the Disney cartridges and have cut so many cute things from them. The Mickey & Friends cart is my favorite but the Font cart has some great things too. I have used it alot for birthday cards and even my DS's graduation card ... he won't be surprised with that. LOL

I don't have a Big Shot but I do have a Quick Kutz and will spend my money on carts for my cricut before new things for my QuicKutz.

Good luck on your decision.

Kim,
I have them both! And honestly, I love them both! For different reasons.
However, the Disney cartridges really are very cool! If $$ is a concern, I'd buy a cartridge. And wait til after trip to by cricut. Why? Because I really believe that the "retail price" will go and stay low once the new one is out on the market. I bought one for $139.00 at Michael's for a friend.

Do you have a birthday or anything that you can "hint at gift cards"? LOL!
Good luck!
Kathy

It may be worth it to wait a bit since the price is dropping pretty steadily. If you see a good deal on Cartridges then jump on those because I doubt those will get marked down any time soon.

If I had the $$ I would be joining you at ACM tomorrow, but I will be getting one soon.
