I don't know how this will turn out, but if you're interested I'd love to do it.

:) Jenny.

We are going to arrive in WDW on October 1st, so if anyone is still around then, we'd LOVE to meet up. When we went earlier this year we met only 1 other DIS'er.
We will be at POR from 10/01 til 10/07.
Let me know.

Our ADR is also at LTT but not until 7 pm, we scheduled it before they announced that there would be MNSSHP that night, it was supposed to be EMH at MK. We're trying to move it up earlier, but so far, no luck.

Lisa - October 1st will be our last day in the World, for this trip. It's my birthday and we're spending it in Epcot. Would love to meet up if you plan to be in Epcot that day.

EeyoreFan1
06-10-2007, 01:06 PM
MrsPiglet, I have ADRS at Cindy's the night of MNSSHP, so I can't meet up with you all for dinner. After I leave Cindy's I can head over to........meet you guys outside of Crystal Palace? (Isnt that were you all are eating?)

MrsPiglet
06-10-2007, 03:28 PM
Yes we have dinner adrs at Crystal Palace.

Not you, but I was thinking about meeting everyone for the night parade, then maybe walk around and trick and treat. I know you and babypiglet want to meet.

EeyoreFan1
06-10-2007, 03:36 PM
Yes, did my mom ever reply to the pm you sent?

MrsPiglet
06-10-2007, 03:55 PM
Yes, your mom and I talked. We are trying to figure out a good time you and Babypiglet to meet. The MNSSHP party probably would be our best. What time is you CRT adrs?

EeyoreFan1
06-10-2007, 04:46 PM
See, we aren't sure yet. I sprung the "Momm Jenny is going to be at MNSSHP the other night we're there! Can we change it? Pretty please?" So shes still trying to figure out Adrs. It will probably be around 4-4:30 We want to get eating over with.

last year i did two different nights of mnsshp.

the one on thursday oct 4th was a lot less crowded than the one on friday end of sept.

the oct 4th dis meet was due to people signing up on a thread, just like we are doing here.

we all meet for the hallowishes fireworks and sat in the seated dining area by tomorrowland terrace. those with strollers could have more room and it wasn't too loud so we could talk and introduce ourselves to each other.

it was a combination of families and solo travelors.

and it was great to be able to sit down for awhile that night.

it was a good area for us instead of standing along main street as we knew who was a diser then. some of us wore a HDLGMH pinned to our tops so we wouldn't feel stupid walking up to someone.

some of the disers came early to the meet place and once we met up at the fireworks time, if we wanted to hang with others, we did. i met a super diser that night and we did the rest of the evening together until about 11ish.

where ever you all want to meet is great with me.
just wanted to share how one group did it last year.

EeyoreFan1
06-10-2007, 06:08 PM
Sounds fun. :) I'm sure (my moms was a cast member) we can find some great views for fireworks and the parade. I"m thinking we maybe meet up around 6iah, because our cindys ressies are going to be around 4-4:30 so that gives us time to eat, and head over to wherever we are all meeting. I"m sure whatevers fine though. :)

BabyPiglet
06-10-2007, 09:41 PM
Okay, not you Jess, we'll meet earlier, Uhm I think.

But, for the others. How about we meet up before the parade (haven't decided at the spot yet) watch the parade, mix and mingle a little. Then if you'd like maybe walk around MK doing such and such. Or we could fork off after the parade and go our seperate ways. I just thought this way, we get a chance to really talk to each other and such.

Does that even make sense? LOL. :]

Jenny.

MrsPiglet
06-11-2007, 12:50 AM
Macraven what time is the fireworks? Sounds like a plan to all meet at the tomorrowland terrace and watch the fireworks. I think we will be going to two different parties too.
We leave Oct 6 so Oct 5 party would be a good last night. Did many show up last year? A couple of groups are meeting at DD for dinner at Planet Hollywood on Oct 2nd if you or anyone else would like to join us.

the last two years, hallowishes started at 9:30 pm. i would assume it will be the same time this year.

people started claiming their spots around 8:45 last year on one of the dates i went. main street was hard to walk thru at that time.

the first parade should be around 8 - 8:15ish, (i'd have to check the calendar to be sure) so once that crowd disperses, we will have plenty of time to wander over to the tomorrowland terrace for the meet. not that i am saying that is where the meet up place will be, but it is a suggestion.

depending on where you stand for the parade, will determine what time it will end for you. i always stand near the beginning of the parade so i can trick or treat in that area without large crowds.

last year for the thursday mnsshp meet up about 30ish including kids showed up.

the nice thing about that place to meet was the seats, tables, and it was quiet and away from crowds. also, anyone that wanted to get there early, held on to some tables in case others had a meet up there

MrsPiglet
06-11-2007, 07:18 PM
Sounds good to me, now we need to get BabyPiglet to change the first page.

macraven
06-11-2007, 08:13 PM
please don't think i am trying to sway the group to a designated place.
i wasn't the one that started all the work on the thread.

i just wanted to share how one dis group i joined up with last year did the meeting place.

it did work out fine as we could have never found each other in the crowds by the parade area. and the ones with strollers and littles enjoyed the tables and seats at the patio seating at tomorrowland terrace.

to meet around the disney statue at the end of main street is a tough place to find others during the wait time for hallowishes.

i think it woulld be kewl to meet others earlier in the evening, such as by parade time but don't know where or how to do that.

i don't want to get anyone upset by my suggestions. sometimes that happens on the dis when one person posts what could work for a meet up place.

came back to add maybe if we meet for hallowishes, we could then decide where to meet up for the late parade in case we all go different ways after the fw.

MrsPiglet
06-11-2007, 09:38 PM

it is a good place for hallowishes. you can get a good view at the angle over there. and kids don't have to stand on dad's shoulders in order to see over people's heads.

i'm sure if that is one of the meet up places some will go early and hold tables for the rest of us. it wasn't crowded over there last year on the thursday night. i think tuesday and thursday are the better nights for lower attendance for mnsshp

sunday is good also. most of the locals won't go to it as the next day is a school day for the kids.
sunday should be very good for us.

My party will consist of myself, DH and DS13. The only think I'm concerned about is that my husband is *very* serious about his fireworks and if he doesn't like the view from that spot he might go off in another direction but I'll still be there. It might be okay because we're doing a grand gathering fireworks cruise on the 23rd so he will have had a perfect view of the fireworks at that time. :goodvibes

it looks good. i read it soon after you posted it.

you might want to repeat the annoucement every 5 pages or so as that thread grows. some people do not go back and read every page when they open up a new thread.

Yup, sure did see the post on the MNSSHP thread.. We will be at the party, so it'll be just me remembering the meet is happening. As long as this thread keeps popping up in my return notify emails, I should remember. No kids this time, just me and the wife. 12 year anniv. so we are going back to the poly, which is where we spent our honeymoon.
Sounds like fun, see you all there.

We're a solid maybe. :rolleyes1

I'll make a note of it, I'd love to meet up with everyone. This will be our last night of a 10 night trip though and I'm not sure what DD's disposition will be by that point. She'll be celebrating her 5th birthday this trip. DH isn't going so I'm sure she'll be missing him after 10 days away. We also haven't had the best of luck with last-night meets in the past. However, I'll do my best to be there!! It will be just DD and I. :goodvibes

Also... I must admit to being just a tad skeptical of the view from the Terrace, LOL. I've never watched fireworks from there before, nor read of it being a recommended location. We usually watch from in front of Crystal Palace or the Rose Garden/Tomorrowland Bridge areas. I'll trust you all though -- if you say I can see from there then it's good enough for me, LOL. :rotfl:

Also, didn't want to spook you all, but I wasn't sure if you guys realized I was a minor or not? I'm hesitant to use the word "teenager" because it comes with all those pre-conceived notions of hanging out at the mall all day and being semi-clueless about the real world. let me say the view straight on is the best view. you see the full effect all around the castle by viewing it straight on.

being at the right angle of the castle is fine for the fact we can all be together and not have to deal with people blocking views in front of us.

think of it this way. if you are behind the curb and in front of the Plaza door entrance part of the resturant, you will be at an angle. more so of an angle at tomorrowland terrace.

if you want the best view, then move the plans to the end of main street.
we can all make the mini meet start around 8:45 at tomorrowland terrace so we can find each other.. we can visit for a half an hour then move over to the main street area by 9:15 as the fw would start around 9:30.

that would make everyone happy.
we still get to meet up with the other disers, visit, chat and move as a group to a better viewing area so all are pleased.

once we know who everyone looks like, we can stay connected watching the fw at another place.

watching the hallowishes at the right angle prevents you from seeing the symetrical effect from the left side when fireworks met over the castle.
if people want to see the total effect of the fw, move the meet to main street.

Also, didn't want to spook you all, but I wasn't sure if you guys realized I was a minor or not? I'm hesitant to use the word "teenager" because it comes with all those pre-conceived notions of hanging out at the mall all day and being semi-clueless about the real world. i do love the fw but really am thrilled in meeting new diser friends.

i hope BabyPiglet will make a list of what costumes people in our group are going to wear.

it will make it kewl so we could recognize each other.

i will be wearing my traditional halloween tshirt.

i'm not creative and not one for dressy for the occassion so it will have to do.

it is an orange tshirt that has black letters on the front of it that says
costume.
that with a black shorts will be me.

Now my costume is creative. Tigger is dressed as Pooh bear and Pooh bear is dressed as Tigger. Not sure what color shorts. I wish I had a pig costume.

Anyways, Jenny is really doing a good job. She is loud and talkative on the board, but quiet and shy in person when you meet her. We will have to keep her talking. She is really excited about the trip, we have planned it for a year.

We only have about 2 months before our trip.

Just checking in and saw you were listing costumes.

I will just be wearing a Jack Skellington shirt, nothing fancy for me, DH doesn't dress up, and DS is still trying to decide between his Inuyasha costume and getting a Sora costume.

Inuyasha is a Japanese Anime character and Sora is the main character from the Kingdom Hearts video game, for those who may not know. If I didn't have a 12 yo son I wouldn't have a clue what either was :rotfl2:

This will be my 4th year in a row going end of Sept/early October. It is usually still HOT! I'll pack mostly summer clothes, but bring along a couple warmer things - just in case! Funny you should mention Narcoossee's. We have an ADR for dinner there (will be my 1st time) on our trip next week! :thumbsup2 So I'll let you know when I return home. Dress is listed as business casual - no tanks, t-shirts, swimsuits or cut-offs. I plan to wear capris and a short-sleeved shirt.

Hey everyone! :wave2: I am another solo traveler who will be at MNSSHP on 9/30. I would love to join ya'll for my first DIS meet. At this moment, I was planning on wearing a green football jersey (I'm a girl princess:). This serves two purposes for me:

1. I live in TX and this is high school football country and I'm a bigtime Carroll Dragons fan. We have won the state championships 3 years running and in the top 10 in the USA. Funny, I never went to high school football games when I was in high school, but now 10 years later I never miss a game. It's a community pride thing. So I'll be able to wear the jersey to the games.

2. Short sleeve jerseys paired with capris should be somewhat comfortable if it's hot. And it's an easy (low maintenance) costume. I have to figure out what football players use to paint those black stripes under their eyes. Shoe polish?

Hope to see everyone!

What a beautiful family you have! :goodvibes We'll make sure to get some group shots of all 8 of you during the party. No fair that "mom" is always behind the camera -- but isn't that the case more often than not?! :rotfl:

Make sure, too, that you have the photopass photographers take plenty of pics of you all using YOUR camera! ;)

Right about now, I start checking the 15-day Orlando forecast at accuweather.com a couple times a week, for high/low temps, to get an idea of what type of clothing to pack. I don't even look at the rain chances as that changes by the hour! :rotfl:

I won't think about packing until about a week out. The folder with all my trip information & MNSSHP ticket has been ready for weeks! ;)

Hmm... without looking at the forecast I'll give my predictions as far as weather goes...

daily highs of 87 - 92, daily lows of 70 - 75, humid, rain showers 3 - 4 days out of every 7 sometime between 2:00 and 5:00 :)

How's that? :rotfl:

Wow, Just looked at BabyPiglet first post and we are getting a good size group together. Glad you all are coming. We are getting so excited. We leave in 26 days. Jenny is so excited. Jenny and her Dad just went to look for some type of water bottle with a strap and she wants to start packing. I guess we could wash some of the clothes and pack the oddball stuff.

jcemom, I bet your weather prediction is accurate.

Hope you all are having a good weekend.

Wow I'm 23 days out and haven't started packing anything:scared1: . I can't really pack until we are very close since we aren't telling the kids so I'm sure they'de notice their clothes slowly not returning from the laundry. Dh and I are going crazy. We are currently making them little itinerary books for each one of our kids. This way we can include as much detail as each child needs (one of ours wants to know every minute and one would be just as happy not having a clue:confused3 ). So we are using stickers and informing them of which park we will be at which day. This way once we make it to the airport and they have definately figured out where we are going we can give them their books. We still haven't decided if we are going to tell them about the MNSSHP's that we have booked or just let them know right before:rolleyes1 .

It will be myself, my DD 5, DD 1 (my little Jenny), and DM. I am sure my DD will be dressed as a princess princess: . I am not sure about the rest of us yet. My mom will be in an ECV.

I am a SAHM, also homeschooling. My husband travels all the time for work and we go with him part of the time. I love Disney. He doesn't understand, so I plan by myself. But he has ended up with us at least part of the time on each trip. Right now his job is in Paris and we are here with him. I take the girls and go to DLP about once a week. I know I am getting spoiled by that.

The first time we saw the fireworks was near the Tomorrowland Terrace, probably even more of an angle. We were amazed. Needless to say, seeing them from the front of the castle was a whole different experience.

We will be staying at the Swan, 9/27 - 10/7. Also, we are from Denver.

We would like to meet with everyone at the terrace at 8:45 on Sept. 30th. We have ADR's at Tony's 6:30 so we time to play a bit before and then afterwards.

We went last year and had a blast. I loved seeing the villains before the parade at the castle.

It will be myself, DS and DH. I am wearing my belly dancer outfit....again, but don't know about DH and DS yet.

Thanks to the OP for putting together this meet. Are we to wear something, LGMHPC to identify ourselves?

We are at OKW from Sept. 24 to Oct 2.

Thanks, April

the bounce back program for next year will cover the dates of aug. 30 to sept 27 2008.

are any of you going to take advantage of it when you go this month?
i'm debating about it.
if it would cover past the 9/27, i might. but with the new rate system that starts in january 08, i'm not clear if the days past the 27th will be included.

I've been debating it myself. Food & Wine will likely begin Friday, 9/26 next year so I would probably arrive on 9/25. If the package has to START by 9/27, we'll be OK; but if that's the last day, I'm not interested.

My DH has surprised me by actually getting into the spirit of things. He went to Walmart last weekend while we were in Maryland and came home with an orange T-Shirt with black lettering that says " I don't do costumes", for him this is a huge step. I don't think he's worn a T-Shirt in the 18 & 1/2 years I've known him. :rotfl2:

Hahahaha! Aweee, that's awesome your DH is getting excited.

My dad showed a little burst of excitement the other day while I was changing the ADR's. It made me so so so happy.

And yes, if you guys were wondering, I DID change our ADR's only two weeks before the trip. :p

Speaking of food, which of you great peoples snabbed the FREE DINING?! We did. :woohoo:

Well this was a big spur of the moment trip. We are only doing 2 days in Disney. We are defintely going to be attending the party on the 30th and would love to meet up with you guys. It will be me and my best friend Robin. I am still debating about wearing my lime green DIS shirt or a halloween themed shirt. Only time will tell.
Welcome to the partay!!! I'm so glad you'll be experiencing part of your quick trip with us. :)

I have a DIS shirt as well, I bought if from some nice DIS'er. It's cute, lime green and purple. I plan on wearing it my first day because I have a different meet that night. I'll be wearing a halloween themed shirt and maybe some scary mickey ears or something I can find while shopping there.

:goodvibes: Again, WELCOME!!!

We are going to MNSSHP on the 9/30 & 10/4. The wife and I have pirate costumes for one of the nights, and we have T-shirts for the other. I have the black shirt with "This Invisible Man Costume is Defective". Have a few other fun Halloween shirts as well, not sure exactly what we will wear & when but we'll be there.
20 days to go for us....

I just want the weekend to get here. I plan on shopping for all the last minute things [as it is our last weekend] and then finish packing. On the last day I'll stuff things like hairbrushes into the luggage. I really hope the weekend gets here quick, then I only have a week! Woohoo. Only 8 more sleeps.

So how is everyone, what are your weekend plans?

Yes dear, I know you're gonna be there. :p

It's okay, I understand if you can't make it. That's your only MK day so you'll wanna do tons of rides and stuff.

BTMRR, that's all I care about. ;)

Five more sleeps for me. I know time is going to fly since I have too much to do and no time to do it in.

We just had our furnace removed and have to dig down (dirt crawlspace under the house) two more feet around where the furnace is to go. Well DH and I started digging yesterday (in hopes of having it done before we leave). They put the original furnace over top of the water and sewer pipes:headache:. So we can't dig any further down there and they aren't going to put the furance on top of the pipes. The furnace guy is coming over this afternoon to tell us our options, the most likely of which will be dig out the other side:scared1:. I really don't think it's going to get done before we leave (and it's been bery cold the last couple of days:sad2:).

DH and I are both working all weekend (actually poor guy is working everyday until we leave since last Wed.) I have two meetings on Monday. I've only packed our water and soy milk so far. Oh and the kids still don't know. So now I can safely start removing their shorts from the laundry:laundy: without them noticing since it's so cold.

I need a vacation:rolleyes1 .

15 sleeps here! It seems like time has started to slow down. I would like it to speed up just a little. It can slow down again when we are on vacation.

We are very excited to meet up with all of you on the 30th. That is the day we arrive so I hope we don't start to droop at the party. We plan on napping before. I hope we can get into our room early.

Tomorrow I'm going shopping some MORE and then heading over to the halloween store to see what I can get to vamp up my "costume". Costume meaning, halloween shirt and shorts. :p I need a little something extra.
