Poly on points room upgrade?

Is it possible to upgrade a room at Poly on a reservation made with points. I do not want DW to just get charged more points if she tries for a room upgrade this weekend. Any strategies or success stories?

I think since they went to the new system where you book the view by the number of points that upgrades are a thing of the past. You could ask, but be clear that you don't want to pay additional points.

The Poly could not charge extra points on their own, they would have to go through member services.
