We just got back from a WONDERFUL trip to WDW and VB--and are seriously considering an add-on via resale. I would appreciate as much advice/info as you can give me!
For starters, our use year at OKW is August. Can we buy a resale with a different use year? If so, how do those of you who have done this keep track of the different use years?
Do any of you empty nesters/retired members use your points as a way to somewhat be "snowbirds"? We ran into a great couple from IN at VB and they seem to do this. (Going to visit friends and other places on the weekends.)
I'm sure there are other questions I'm forgetting to ask....so feel free to advise! :)

Yes, we have two resale contracts, with different use years.
DVCDAVE has written an excellent application to help keep track of multiple contracts; maybe he can post his link for you.

We have 4 different contracts, with 4 different use years at 2 different resorts and plan to do just what you suggest.
We had lunch with Caskbill (and DW, Peg) yesterday. They have been here at OKW since Dec 30- leaving on weekends to conserve points and will leave after next week for 5 days at HH.
Sounds like a plan to me!
Enjoy!

There have been a couple of add ons of less than 150 pts and different use years they've let through but in general, assume DVC will excercise their Right of First Refusal and buy it back otherwise.

Thanks Dean! I didn't realize I couldn't go for less than 150 AND a different use year! That's the kind of info I need! :)
DOC is MUCH MORE nimble than myself. I feel that different Use Years are a hassle. Life's complicated enough;) ;) ;) ;) .............
FYI: Called in to Timeshare store (talked w/Jerry), and found a listing for OKW-Oct 230 for $65 (with 230 pts remaining from 2001 use year). I offerred $60, the seller counter with $63 (I did not take up the seller's counter, so it's still available).
