Samples of Greece

Well, I'm back from Greece and finally have a few minutes to post a couple of the 2800 pics we took. These have very basic processing done to them, so be kind.

We visited Athens, Piraeus, Santorini and Crete. Believe me when I say DON'T MISS CRETE.

Nearly every image I took was with my Canon 30D using the kit lens. I found very little opportunity, or reason, to use my 70-300mm IS. If you are going to do Europe and have to chose, take ultra-wide lenses, not the telephoto zoom. It's alot of weight to carry for very few photo ops. (Now if your going to Africa, you might wanna take to 600-1200mm :rolleyes1 )

Awesome photos. We used to live in Crete about a thousand years ago when my dad was in the military. I'd very much like it if you could share more pictures (or point me to where you might have them online). My parents would LOVE to look through them...

Greece is an awesome place to visit, I moved from there two years ago. We loved the fact that anytime you went anywhere, you were passing ruins and monuments. Glad you enjoyed your trip and nice photos.
