I didn't parasail but our table mate did and he loved it. At Castaway they take you out past the break water out in front of the ship. (we watched from our verandah at the end of the day).
Jack said that they put you in a sturdy harness, hook you up to the cable, you stand on a platform at the end of the boat and the next thing you know is that you are floating above the water.

My DS (12) and Niece had a blast parasailing at Castaway Cay on our July 28th 2001 Magical Criuse! The CM’s at the dock even tried to talk me into it ! (Maybe next time!)
They wanted to parasail together, but I didn’t remember until almost 4pm to put the request in the reservation box on embarkation day, – and they ended up being scheduled at 10:00am and 2:30 pm – but I brought them both over to the dock at 10am and asked if they could please go out together. I was lucky - they waited until 10:10, and when another party that was registered didn’t show - that they were able to accommodate us, and they were able to go together – even in the same harness. It was one of the many the highlights of my DS’s trip!
ENJOY!

My husband and I did it at Castaway Cay. We went up in tandem and it was a highlight of our cruise. What a way to celebrate the day of our 12th anniversary. We took a waterproof camera up with us and have some wonderful pictures of the ship and island .I say go for it.

SurferGirl, what a great idea the camera is! DH and I are cruising alone this summer and we were hoping to try parasailing. I was bummed thinking that we wont have anyone to video tape us or take pictures, but us taking pictures while up there is just as good.
And its also good to hear, 2 adults can go together. I was hoping for that since I want to do it, but not alone. ;)

Camcolt, I don't remember the weight limit, but my hubby is 5'8" and slim and i'm 5'4" 134lb and we were fine. the larger person sits in the harness behind the smaller person. It was nice to go together and have someone to share the experience with.

My DS took his waterproof camera up with him too ! We have a real nice shot of his feet hanging over beautiful blue water as a momento ! Maybe next time his aim will be better and he will take one of the beautiful MAGIC!

Is there an age limit? Can anybody tell me how much it costs for a tandem ride? Thanks. :)
