Our 2nd trip of a lifetime!! Day 5

Holiday April 9th 2007-April 23rd.

EPCOT. FLOWER AND GARDEN FESTIVAL.

Sat April 14th

We were going to go around the lands today so we didnt need to rush around for park opening, however we woke up around 7am and started to get ready.
We hadnt got any ADR's booked today so we decided to go to Spoodles at the Boardwalk for breakfast, we arrived at the Boardwalk just after 8am.

It's our 1st visit to Spoodles it really is a lovely place. It wasnt busy and we were seated straight away, the servers are very friendly and welcomeing as usual.
They let Chloe choose of the childs menu which was great so she had the Mickey pancake with a side of fruit, the same as Ellie-Mae.

As you can see they managed to sleep very still the night before, they wanted to keep their princess hair in for another day.
I had the Ham and Cheese Frittata with a side of Bacon which was absolutely gorgeous and DH had Mickey Waffles.

It was just gone 9am when we had finished. Then off we went to Epcot.

When we arrived we first went on the boat ride Living with the Land then had a look around the gardens the smell of the roses were wonderful and they looked beautiful.

As we walked round we came across Tinkerbells Garden, we followed the path around and came across Cpt Hook, Mr Smee, Peter and Wendy.

We then made our way around to The Lands, we started at Mexico it wasnt 11am yet so we sat down taking in the atmosphere and of course some photos.

11am soon came and we headed into Mexico, we went on the boat ride, this has been updated and it now includes Donald Duck it was quite sweet.
We had a look around Mexico had a laugh trying on the sombreros, some of them are huge. We also meet Donald and Friend?

We followed our way around clockwise looking around all the different lands

The girls forgot to start their masks in Mexico, so they started them in Norway.

As we walked around we stopped to look at the lovely displays of flowers.

This time we didnt watch the show in China, we also didnt watch the American Adventure we remembered them from last time and decided not to watch them again, however we did listen to the men and ladies singing in America they sound wonderful, we sat right up front on the floor.
We followed our way round to Japan, Morocco and France spending time in each one to look around and for the girls to do their Kidcot Masks.
In France we just had to stop for something sweet.
DH and I had a Strawberry Tart and the girls had a Apple & cream Bun MMMmmm.
Also in France we came across these two.

Then across the bridge who could we see, Snow White.
Just as we had finished having our photos taken with Snow White, who came out but Dopey so we joined the line again so we could get a photo with Dopey as well.

We then went on to UK and Canada, again some really beautiful flowers and gardens.

By the time we finished in Canada the wind started to get up and the clouds started to roll in. DH and I sat on a bench near the Showcase Plaza and the girls ran around to Mexico to finish their masks and to get their certificate.

It was 3.30pm so we made our way back to the car and headed back to Pop before the rain started.
We got back to Pop and all had showers the girls had a shower first then they laid on the bed. At 5.30pm the rain passed and we went down to Everything Pop to get a drink and something to eat we all had Burgers and Fries.
We went back to Epcot and had a walk around the shops, the girls jumped around on the Light-Up pathing slabs for a while then we decided to head off back, we were all too tired to stop for illuminations we had seen it before and wasnt to bothered if we didnt see it this time.

It was around 9.30 when we got back to Pop so we refilled our mugs and went up to our room and got ready for bed, we were all in bed by 10.30pm.

Another lovely day! You managed to see lots of characters in Epcot. Do you know if there are normally that many characters around World Showcase during the daytime, or if it was just because of the Garden and Flower Festival?

Hi Sara, There is normally quite a few characters about. Pooh and Eeyore was also in England, but we didnt line up for them as we had seen them at few times at breakfast already.
Mary Poppins is usually in England as well, Beauty & The Beast are usually in France.
We didnt see any in Germany this time, but last time we were there we saw Pinocchio and his Father.

I was going to say you saw a lot of characters, hope we manage to see as many. The flower festival looks lovely. May I ask what the masks are? Do you work your way around the world adding bits on from each country?

Another great day :) We did breakfast at Spoodles last trip - it was so - so for us.

glad to see they are still doing the masks, I think this helps little ones who sometimes get a bit tired of the adult stuff at Epcot, My eldest DD still has hers. Great photo's. Another fab day!

Yes Wendy, At each land they have Kidcot Stations where the children can start a mask or just do some colouring. You ask for your mask at the first land you get to then you colour a bit of it in at each stop in each land. They also stamp the stick of the mask with the name of the country, then tie a small plastic or paper symbol in a small hole at the top of the mask. When you come to the last country to finish your mask they give you a certificate.

I think we must of been lucky with the characters then, I must admit the only other time weve been to Epcot was when the Food & Wine festival was on in October another special events time.

What a wonderful day in the showcase. Your photos really made me wish I was there and to remember to take it easy this year when we go and just enjoy ourselves rather than running around like mad things.

A lovely day, Sharon. That breakfast dish you had looks delicious. We usually see quite a few characters in the World Showcase, but I was especially impressed that you saw Esmerelda. The girls' hair still looks great!
