Check Your Booking Details!!!

Hi all,
Just a heads up to everyone who think they've booked everything over the phone:

Altered my booking with first choice a couple of weeks ago from this sep to next aug/sep, all details the same except no disney tickets or free dining. :sad2:

Got my invoice last week and everything looked ok, so I thought I'd check my booking online to see how it worked, and it said no car hire booked but transfers were. I had told the agent I wanted the free car but no insurance, I'll either sort my own or hire a seven seater independantly.

Tried a couple of times this week but couldn't get through to them, called this morning and got through fairly quickly. The girl I spoke to was lovely, she said transfers come at a cost and would have shown on my invoice. When she checked there was no transfers OR car booked for us, and she said it was a good thing I noticed!! :eek:

I know its only car hire and ultimately we'll probably sort it ourselves, but if anyone had been relying on what they'd booked it could be a different story.

I had a similar problem with Thomas Cook in 2003 regarding our transfers. I orginally booked for September 03 but had to change the details over to November 03. Everything on my booking was correct. When we flew into Orlando and was approached by the rep Alex he told me to go and collect our car. What car i had booked transfers, not according to his details.

I refused the car and he then demanded that i pay for the transfers to go to the hotel. I showed him my paper work, which stated i paid for transfers, but he has having none of it. He then told me to phone Thomas Cook in the U.K to sort it out:mad: , Yeah right 7pm in the evening british time on a Saturday afternoon. So we had to pay for the transfers again but when he went to get us on board, all the buses had gone:furious: .

His next big idea was to get us a taxi:drive: , 15 minutes later he turns up with this bloke with the most down trodden, wore out taxi you have ever seen in your life. :confused3 I'm not sure how it even passed its MOT.

So we get into this death trap :scared1: and the taxi driver says do we want the long route or the short one. Of course we say the short one, ok he says but i will have to add all the toll charges to your fare, along with my $10 tip:rolleyes2 . He added this tip not us.

In the end the cost of the trip was $135 :mad: a total rip off. I complained to the Thomas Cook resort manager the next day and got the money refund in cash 5 days later :banana: . I also wrote a letter of complanit to Thomas Cook in the u.k when I got back, and got 150 pounds as a goodwill payment:yay: .
