Who Went in December Last Year????????

Ok I know this is early.....

However, we were shut out of the July 07 AP discounts so we've decided for the 1st time ever to stay offsite :eek:

We are planning a 2nd trip back though early/mid December time frame. Does anyone remember what the rate for deluxes was last December? Also, were any of the resorts blacked out like July :confused3

I was there from Dec 9-16th. We stayed at the Poly w/ the AP rate of like 274.00/night I think it was.

We were there 11/30-12/11 and were able to snag a Disney Visa discount. I think we ended up saving around $300. on our package deal.:thumbsup2

We actually stayed at the Swan last Dec for our long weekend trip and we are booked to stay there again for this coming Dec. We have the Swan for $169 plus tax a night. AP rates at the YC/BC and BW have not been that low since right after 9/11.

The AP situation this year is almost the same as last year. Last year there were no moderates available, so this year is better.

As for December, there were AP discounts but there were some blackouts. It was only for a couple of days (Dec. 5-8) because with Pop warner and other large groups overlapping those days (mousefest) resorts were at capacity. I would suggest you booking the resort you can afford to pay at rack rate (but at least it's value season for early December). Availablility will be slimmer around the Pop warner dates and during the first and second weekends of December. The first weekend is when they do the Christmas parade taping and the second weekend is Pop W. There most likely will be discounts, but as I always suggest, flexibility is the key.

Nope this year is not better.... we weren't able to snag a discount and last year we did. The resorts that Disney opened for AP discounts have been totally booked for sometime for our dates. Definitely an AP ripoff this year IMO :mad: :rolleyes1

As for booking what we can afford at rack rate.... I would never ever pay rack rate for a Disney hotel. IMO they aren't worth the price. Before I'd do that I'd stay offsite as we are in July ;)

The way I'm feeling now if we :cloud9: our offsite townhouse in July we'll likely stay there again in December. Just considering all the options.

not sure of the % or $$ off, but, last December we got $224 @ SSR for a Deluxe Studio with our AP, we were there 12/4 - 12/11.

Maybe she was thinking it was regular or peak season during her visit rather than value so then the discounts looked deeper! You should really look at the entire situation before you start saying negative things.

How did you find the info on the Disney Visa discount? I've had one since it came out, and haven't ever gotten anything on an actual discount, just discounts on tours and merchandise.
