I was wondering if anyone could help me out.

What is the travel time from Las Vegas to the following places:

Disneyland
Grand Canyon
Skywalk

I am trying to do this in a 7 night trip with 2-3 of them at Disneyland. Is that doable. We are going to Vegas, but I want to surpise my wife with a trip to DL. We have gone to WDW 5 times in the last 6 years and want to see DL. I really hope to do it in 1 trip. I would greatly appreciate everyone's advice.

Thanks

Las Vegas travel times to:

Grand Canyon National Park- 5-5.5 hours

Grand Canyon West (Skywalk)- 1.5 hours, but there are parts where you have to drive on an unpaved road. If you are using a rental car most rental cars do not allow you to take it on unpaved roads. The skywalk is very expensive
($75) and I have read you are not allowed to take your camera on it.

Disneyland- 4 hours

could you do this all in a week? Yes, you probably could... BUT how much time do you plan on seeing each place? Most people when they plan a trip like this do not count time to sightsee. That eats up a lot of time and if this may be the only time you are out there to view the Grand Canyon you don't want to feel rushed.
We went in Nov. and I was worried my DH would be bored after viewing the Grand Canyon and I was so suriprised to hear him say how his wished we had more time.

Disneyland- 4 hours Note that Disneyland is 4 hours if you avoid traffic. If you try and get from Vegas to LA on a Sunday, or from LA to Vegas on a Friday, you can add several hours to that. And if you get to Orange County during one of their rush hours, the last few miles could take an hour. But as long as you plan accordingly, it's a fairly easy drive.

Note that the Grand Canyon is nowhere near Vegas. It's a long, boring drive. Personally, I think it makes a crappy side trip from Vegas. Much better to visit the Canyon on it's own trip, when you can spend time and enjoy it.

I agree 100%. If you are looking for a doable side trip I would suggest Zions National Park. It is approx. 2 1/2 - 3 hours from Vegas - mostly on I-15 and is very beautiful if you have never seen it. It is not as spectacular as the Grand Canyon, but certainly worth doing.

We did the trip to Grand Canyon and back in a day a few years ago. We left Las Vegas very early in the morning and got back at about midnight. On the way down the 5hr long and boring drive was OK, but on the way back we were so tired it felt like it took forever. If I were to do it again I would stay overnight before going back to Las Vegas.

We are planning to drive to Disneyland for 5 days from Las Vegas this year in Sept. On a Wednesday, does anyone know what time would be best to leave Vegas to avoid the traffic. I was thinking about 5am or 6am. Hopefully by the time we reach the high traffic areas, rush hour would be over.

Hopefully by the time we reach the high traffic areas, rush hour would be over.If you take 2 hours from Las Vegas to Barstow, 30 mins in Barstow for a break/potty stop (try the Lenwood exit), then another 1.5 - 2 hours from Barstow to Orange County, leaving Vegas at 7am would get you to Orange County by 11am - 11:30. I would take the 15 to the 210 to the 57, and you will avoid the worst freeway, the 91, altogether. Exit the 57 at Ball Road or Katella to get to the resort area.
