Can we bring our own alcoholic beverages and soda aboard the Magic without "sneaking around?" It would be convenient for all involved, but we don't want to break any rules whether they're official or unofficial.

Yes, no need to sneak, it is quite acceptable for you to bring on your own beverages, and many people do. :)

From what I have read, is it just in your stateroom that you can enjoy your own "stash" of soda and such? I am a first timer and don't know the rules of the ship.
What about bottled water. Could you bring it to the pool area or do they frown on that?

You can pretty much bring it anywhere. Especially bottled water.

Thanks Dave - I just drink Diet Coke Caffeine Free, so I was a little worried when I heard they don't serve it on board. I would just feel a little funny with a DCCF can walking around or lounging at the pool, but if you say it's ok - then ok :) :) :)
Hi,
When we did the 4 night cruise in july 2000, we bought some bottles of coke in Nassau and took them on the Wonder.
This was no problem at all.
I have one question though. We do the 7 night cruise next week, and the night before we stay at the Swan. Can we buy bottles of coke over there ( at an acceptable price ) ?
Thanks !
:) :) :)

I'm sure the Swan/Dolphin have multiple gift shops/newstands with sodas available. But you'll probably get a more acceptable price if you go over to the convenience store at the Boardwalk (short walk from the Swan/Dolphin).

Definitely no need to hide your beverages -- when we were on the 7day a very 'thirsty' cruiser had tons of soda's and Beer strapped to one of those rolling luggage carts - and just wheeled in the whole koot and kaboodle!:)

we bought a case of water in sports bottles, diet pepsi and reg.pepsi at Walmarts for $2 each case. Stapped them all together with clear packing tape (also from Walmarts $1.50) We checked them in with our luggage and had them delivered to our room on the Magic with no problems at all. This way we didn't have to lug them to lunch when we boarded. For $7.50 we had plenty of drinks available for 7 days.

We brought a case of beer with us...also brought along some 16 oz. plastic cups...when we wanted a drink, one of us would hop to the room, pour a few cold ones and we would enjoy them by the pool, or wherever we were. We never felt self-conscious of this...no problem !!!Enjoy and save some $$$

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if they serve lemonade and/or ice tea on board and if there is an extra cost for it like there is for soda? I'm not a big soda drinker and a nice tall glass of lemonade would be great around the pool!
Thanks

They serve fruit punch in Topsiders on the Magic during the lunch buffet. I don't remember if ice tea or lemonade was served.
You can also "make your own" by bringing lemonade/ice tea mix and a pitcher. There is a beverage station up on Deck 9 that has great water. There is also 24 hour tea/coffee/hot choc. available.

On deck nine they have free coffee, tea, hot chocolate and milk all the time. For the lunch buffet they have fruit punch and I believe there was ice tea. I don't recall seeing lemonade. In your stateroom your room steward will fill up your ice bucket two times a day. There is no ice vending machine but if you need more ice I am sure they will get it for you.

If you need more ice and don't want to make the trek to Deck 9 aft for it, you can just call room service, and they will have it there before you can set the phone down (well, almost).
