Hi all, I am looking for a picture book of WDW for my 4 yr old nephew. We are going in sept so I want to prepare him for the trip. We have watched the DVD and tons of movies but i really want to show him pics of the parks. I think it will give him a better idea of what to expect. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks again!!!!

There some good guides for kids that have lots of photos, but what I did was make my own. I collected photos from various websites (allears and disney mostly)of all the attractions, the hotel, busses, restaurants, characters-just about everything we planned on doing and seeing. I printed them out and put them in order of our itinerary in a little 4X6 photo album. Our daughter, who was 20 months on the last trip absolutley loved it and it really helped her to see what we wherre planning on doing ahead of time. She still looks through it and I plan on doing another one for our trip this December.

there is the Official Guide to Walt Disney World for Kids, by kids. I got that for my kids first trip at age 5. It is not just pictures but info too.
I thought it would help ease any fears about attractions. They loved reading it.

The Disneyland Sing a Long Fun DVD is great -- it shows the (large) characters playing with kids and singing through the park, so you get an idea of how large the characters are and also a look at the park (it shows MK in Disneyland, Ca, but they are virtually the same). We always watch this before a trip. I also found the planning DVD w/Erin (the one right before YOAMD) has a lot of nice shots of all the parks.
Also, as pp mentioned, a kids tour book would be good. The Birnbaums WDW has a kids version, as well as adults, with lots of pictures. Maybe you also want to order the customized maps -- no realistic pictures per se, but a fun way to prepare -- he can look up the location descriptions in his guidebook.
Happy planning.

If you are looking for something with mainly pictures and not so much on text, I'd recommend the hardcover souvenir books that you get at Walt Disney World. I buy them every time a new one comes out (at the park though). They are FULL of pictures and perfect for smallers kids who really aren't into reading, but just want to see Disney. The photography is always top knotch and you are getting a full book of color photos. I have my book from last year in front of me and it is 175 pages of nothing but photos. Definitely something that would appeal to a young (or older) child. You can call Disney merchandising and purchase their newest book from them directly if you don't like to Ebay. Their shipping is very reasonable and they are pretty quick. I think the books sell for $21.95 plus tax at the parks. The telephone # for merchandising is: 407-363-6200, Fax: 407-352-6369 and their email is: wdw.mail.order@disneyworld.com ;)

...it's got a blue cover and says something like "A Photographic Keepsake...Where the Magic Lives" and it's got a big sorcerer Mickey right in the middle...My son's copy is out in the car right now. We were driving to the cabin (that's what you do in MN when it's time to go fishing :lmao: ) and what could have been a boring trip was enlivened by his narration..."Look, Mommy, it's the Tower of Terror....did you know that building isn't really old, it just looks old?....Here's the Barnstormer, I rode on that 5 times...." etc...

Yes, they offer hardcover and softcover...the softcover is obviously cheaper. The hardcover version looks exactly the same though...no differences-just whatever your preference is. I get the hardcover because I collect them...the softcovers don't seem to fare out too well over the years. My books from the early years are softcover and they are sad looking. If your not collecting them though...it really doesn't matter. ;)

We have a great book called "Popping Up Around Walt Disney World". It's a hardcover pop-up book. It's about $17 on Amazon.
