I visited the WLV last week where I bought and add-on and will be staying next year and I have to say that the rooms are the most beautifuly appointed and cosy of all the DVC resorts. I agree with Granny that the themeing of WL and WLV is the best in WDW with a close second by the AKL and Boardwalk.

The pictures of the brochure just don't do the rooms justice.

Thanks for the comments. Since we bought at VWL sight unseen, I love to hear those positive comments about our home. We will finally get to see it in May. Glad you enjoyed your trip. Erin

Likewise! Although we'd been to WL, we bought into WLV sight unseen. What great, encouraging words! While we're staying at OKW in July, I'm making a "recon trip" in a couple of weeks just to get some pictures and video of what we've gotten ourselves into.

ErinC, we're native Alabamians; the Mobile Bay area is my favorite part of the state. Gotta love Point Clear!

We also fell in love with the decor of VWL when we stayed there in November.

Hi Guys,

Just back yesterday from our first trip home. VWL ......WOW.

Had a superb studio but went down to see the one bedroom.

It's on another level !! - always have been a great fan of WL and are now feeling VERY smug at being part of the fantastic DVC family :D

Going back in July ... can't wait !!

David

We had seen pix of VWL online and weren't impressed. Thank goodness we took the tour last Feb.! It's our home now. We stayed there in July and just loved it. We even did a little add-on!

Thank you for the information. We bought sight unseen and will be "Home" in June/July. I'm always looking for more information about my new "home"!

MickeyMcMouse, glad to hear good things about VWL! I'm anxiously awaiting our 2 week stay in June. Where was you "SUPERB" studio located? Do you have the room #?

Thanks!

I just wanted to chime in with a hearty "here, here!" VWL (and WL) were so much nicer and more impressive than any pictures or video I had ever seen. I was blown away! I have seen many photos before and since and for some reason they just cannot capture the incredible ambience of the place. From the moment you turn into the driveway past the security checkpoint you are truly transported to another place. I am envious of those about to discover this treasure for the first time..I hope Disney has got similar surprises in store for us with future projects!

We stayed at VWL in Sept after much begging from me as DH was not impressed with VWL. But since we were doing a "no parks" vacation he agreed. HE LOVED IT! So much that we added on there, we are staying not only for 5 nights in May(all the points we could spare), but he convinced me to stay an additional 5 nights in the lodge, and we will be back for 5 more nights in Dec. So for all of you who were unsure, rest assured VWL is a great decision. ;)

Just returned from 5 nights at BWV. Was dissapointed! The decor seemed very average and "blah" compared to our home resort WVL. We had a great time on the Boardwalk but when we wanted peace and quiet in our room we found that to be impossible before 1 or 2 a.m. To each his own, but I love a well decorated room and am glad we purchased at the Wilderness Villas! Also if you are looking for a beautiful stay if you arrive a day early, I recommend the Celebration hotel. We spent a night there before we checked into BW - Beautiful!!! Also had a great time shopping and a wonderful dinner in this quaint town.

BraveMom3,

We were in room 3550,which was a little walk from the elevators but VERY quite. The third floor seems to be ideal, because one of the elevators always seemed to be there. (In the middle of the 5 floors maybe), so no waiting. The room was first class with nothing broken or out of place. The view of the woods was very nice to watch at night with a nice drink in your hands. ;)

We're going back 27th July for 8 nights so will maybe see you there.:D

I have to :) when I see that a few of us just had to get some extra points added on to our VWL membership once we stayed there.

It is beautiful. Wish I was there now.

So true! In fact, I'm going to be calling our guide in just a few minutes in the hopes that our use year still has a few points available. Wish me luck! :D

We were sold - sight unseen - and had our first trip home last October. We stayed in a studio - which was fine for me, my husband and 3 year old. We toured the 1 bedroom that just happened to be open on the first floor as we were walking by - ended up with more points as a Christmas gift. Love the cozy lodge feeling vs. typical hotel decor. Only thing I would change decor-wise would be some additional lighting around the mirror - cozy yes - but sometimes you need that brighter light for make-up etc. Had the choice of an Adirondack camp or VWL and chose the one with no black flies or mice. Best decision we ever made. This fall we're bringing several additional family members - a few will be staying with us in a 2 bedroom. Can't wait to get back home - and now a bit more often!

DVCLady---we'll be there 4th of July week too. Arriving July 2. We were there in March 2001 and bought shortly thereafter. Love the themeing there---reminds me of Colorado. When we were there in March we only had our high school DD and her friend with us. Our college DD's will be along this summer. Can't wait to see their reaction to the 2BR!:D

You have to love the VWL. The photos do not do it justice. We took our own walkthrough tour of it when we were there in October 2001 and purchased during our visit.

I have no regrets buying there and am thrilled that I will be able to alternate between VWL and BCV for the next 40 years.
