We will be staying Cat. 9 stateroom, and I use a "sound machine" to get to sleep at night. I would like to plug it into an outlet rather than using batteries. Is there an outlet near the bed? Do I need an adaptor? Thanks for any info you can give.

Unfortunately there are no outlets near the beds. There seems to be an outlet on the desk. The outlets in the bathrooms are only for shavers and do not accomodate a standard plug.
We always bring a hair dryer with us and an 8 - 12 ft extension cord. You may have to do the same and plug your machine into the plug on the desk. Just be careful not to trip on the cord. You will not need an adapter.
I just bought a sound machine at Sharper Image and plan to bring it along on our cruise on 2/23. It has a illuminated clock, 20 "soothing sounds", cd player, am/fm radio and TV band. I love it. I have been falling asleep since Christmas to the "EBB Tide" sound that sounds just like a cruise ship cutting through the water!
We have always stayed in a Cat 4 Family suite since we have 5 in our family but I think the outlet situation is the same in most cabins. Someone will correct if I am wrong.

Wow! Great question! I use a sound machine too and NEVER would have thought to ask this. Now I know that I need to bring along an extension cord. You guys are great!

Thanks mmouse 37 for your response. I'll have to check into the "Sharper Image Soothing Sounds." My sound machine is a Conair that I bought probably three years ago and it's starting to have a buzzing sound over the waterfall sound.
