Family Fun Run 5K???

I am thinking about signing up for the 5k over marathon weekend. I have never done one of these before and I was wondering where I could find more information about it. Is there a max number of people that can sign up? Is there a route map anywhere? I run a few miles a couple of days each week so I am not too worried about actually doing it, I was just trying to see what the whole process is like. I appreciate any info that people have! Thanks! :)

Hi, Emily! DH and I are signed up for the 5K, also. The course map will come out later, but it runs in Animal Kingdom..how cool is that?:banana:

http://disneyworldsports.disney.go.com is the link to WDW sports where you can get information as they post it. Click on "Sports" then "Endurance" and the Marathon Weekend will be there. As the time gets closer, it will be on the home page. Hope to see you there!! :goodvibes Anne

Thanks for the link! I love the AK so I am super excited. I haven't registered yet. DBF isn't thrilled about going so I am still working on him. The fact that we would be going for only a weekend is somewhat swaying him. I did book a hotel though. :rotfl:

I am leaning towards doing the 5K also. Mom probably is in denial but she will be signed up for it too LOL I check often to make sure they aren't taking about it filling up and will probably sign up for it in July or so if I can hold off till then. First have to pay for the air for October :eek:

We were at the Danskin Tri expo today and they have a theme picked out for the 5k now. He wouldn't tell us since it is still a secret, but did say that it had something to do with a kids movie coming out this year. Looking at a list of kid type movies, I found these names Meet the Robinsons, Ratatouille, and Underdog.

There has been a movie premier "expo" here in the BWV courtyard the last 2 days. Offering free movie previews.

My DH did the half marathon and we both did the 5K (well, sorta!)

I'll be training a little harder for '08!!

How did the half and full marathons effect the rest of the parks that weekend? Was it noticable or crowded?
