I've been hearing a lot about the smoke and fires in Florida and a few people on another board I frequent (non disney) say that it is pretty bad there. I'm wondering how it will affect our trip. We will be in Disney next Wed-Sun.

a couple of days ago it was horrible, you would have thought that the entire state was on fire, but it has since gotten better, but thats not to say that it cant get worse. As weird as it sounds, just pray for rain, then these fires will at least subside. I know last week, the turnpike was closed for a little while because the fires got to close, so just keep up on the news and check orlandosentinel.com and other local newspapers and stations. If you have allergies, I would reccomend making sure you are fully equipped with some allergy medicine.

There's definitely a haze over the area, but I'm not smelling the smoke as heavily (maybe I'm just getting used to it). Keep your fingers crossed for some good rain.

There was definitely a smoky smell around Orlando the past few days as the counterclockwise winds of Subtropical Storm Andrea was bringing in the smoke from fires in Lake County and Flagler County. Today there is no smoky smell at all but the sky is still hazy.
