Learned something new today about BWV SV

Now I understand WHY it is almost impossible to get a SV studio at BWV. There are only 32 at a given time. I knew the number was small but not THAT small. Not sure if this has been posted before but thought I would share.

I've heard it's 20% of the total rooms. I think the total rooms at BWV is around 340, so 20% would be 68 total, so 32 studios sounds about right, the rest being 1 bedroom dedicated & lockoffs.

There are 32 dedicated studios at Boardwalk. The inventory of studios does not include the 2 bedroom lockoffs which are used after the inventory of dedicated studios are used up.

Since all of the 2 bedroom units at BWV are "lock off" units, does anyone know if there are a certain number reserved or "set aside" to be used only as 2 bedrooms? Or does it just depend on the first come, first served demand? In other words, if there is enough demand at the 11 month window for studios and 1 bedrooms, is it possible there might be no standard view units rented as 2 bedrooms?

I've always wondered how DVC decides how many of each type should be in the inventory.

This is what member services told me when I made a 1 bedroom reservation last year - they book the dedicated 1 bedrooms first and when they run out they start booking the lockoffs, splitting up the 2 bedrooms. Maybe they do the same with the studios - book dedicated first in their system.

Before they decided to stop guaranteeing the plus units, I remember being told when I reserved at the 11 month window that I had one. Didn't ask for one and at that time, I didn't even know what they were.

So maybe they used to do it this way for the studios, but I don't think they do it that way anymore. The dedicated studios are the studio plus units. From what others have posted, groups of 5 are given preference for these rooms, and you can request one, but it is not guaranteed
