HI Ladies, This swap is the Disney Surprise II. Choose your element and topic. That’s all you have to do Don’t tell what your element is or your topic. It will all be a surprise in the end. I do however ask that you not make anything park specific. Your topic can be anything Disney.

DUE DATE IS JUNE 8th!!!

The Details
1. Choose a group. There will be 7 groups to start out with. 6 per group. I will open more groups if it is needed.
2. Choose ONE elements for each slot you select – see the list below. Don’t Post your choices of elements . It will be fine if some of the elements duplicate within a group. Just think about what you want to receive back as you make your element selections.
3. PM me with your DIS name, name, home address, email address, and phone numbers. Email and phone numbers will only be used to follow up if I have not heard from you.
4. Post your weekly status on the Progress thread - which will be posted after the slots are filled.
You must check in 2 weeks prior to the due date. If I have not heard from you by then I will send you a pm or an email. YOU MUST CHECK IN 2 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DUE DATE. IF NOT A PM/EMAIL WILL BE SENT AND IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND IN 48 HOURS, YOUR SPOT WILL BE ANGELLED.
5. Check the progress thread for your status - it will be updated with ship info and received info.
6. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each element. Include $4.60 for postage (or stamps if you don't want to send cash) $8.95if you want a box. Delivery Confirmation is .75

Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these.

7. PM me if you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.

Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, 3D stickers (matted stickers are okay too) or embossing.

1 Topper - 8 inches wide, 2 inches high, double matted and embellished
2 Photo Mats – 4-1/4 x 6-1/4 paper on top of 4-1/2 x 6-1/2 paper, embellished
2 Photo Frames – sized for 4 x 6 pictures, double matted and embellished
2 Journaling boxes - double matted and embellished, at least a 3 x 4 writing area
2 Tags - double matted and embellished, include either fibers/ribbons or eyelet in the hole, no smaller than 2 x 3, larger if you wish

Nope. Not kidding. Worked through naps on Thurs. and Fri., late Thurs. night and didn't object when the kiddos asked to watch more TV than usual. :happytv: We leave for Disney soon, and I didn't want to give the post office any more money for postage than necessary. My elements for the Newbie MK swap were done, and it was easier to make one trip to the PO anyway. Now, I get to rest and play with the family. We rode 8 miles on a local bike trail this morning (even DS5, such a trooper).

Update first - I have two of my four groups almost done - just need a run to Michael's to pick up a final embellishment for each (stinking things are not the size I thought).

Just so I'm sure about labeling the bags since I'm in 4 groups - there will be 6 bags per group with whatever the total pieces for the one element is for that group right? So I'll end up with 24 bags but what's the clearest way to label them for you? Put the swappers dis names on them? This is only my second swap and the first one was of course packaged differently :)

The easiest way is for you label each baggie for the group it is in, than put all those baggies into one bag for each group. So you will have four bigger bags to put in your package. Be sure to label the baggies with your DIS name so we know who made them. ;)

For this swap-Yes. It is a surprise, so not every piece has to be exactly the same.

For other swaps, you would have to check with the hostess. In mine, it would be okay. As long as the feel of them are the same, I would fret about one element having a slightly different font than the others. I would just ask that you mark that baggie somehow and I would either keep it myself or give that one back to you.

I'm back, thank you Kat for adding me in. :) I have all of my ideas for my groups, now to find time to get them done before my kids get out of school. Their last day is Thursday and everyday next week one or more of them has something going on. So, today is my last full day of no kids.

I think for this one you send yours too. It's different for every hostess, and usually in the packing instructions.

Kat will swap everything out, so don't put names on the baggies, just your name/DIS name and group/swap name. Just make sure all your elements are in 1 bag for each person. If something is too big, like a border, and in a seperate wrap, attach it to the baggie with the rest of the elements for that person. Hope that helps :)

I could be wrong but I think they don't want metered postage sent for return mail because the dates will be different and then they won't get through.

If it has an issue date on it, most counters won't take it...

Right-O the reason we don't use them anymore is because when they are issued they are only good for that same day. Also since they are "usually' issued in a different state my PO wont accept them. I had a swap I had to pay the return on a couple because they sent the metered stamps. If anyone can't get the stamp then feel free to write a check or whatever for return postage or even pay pal :)

The guy started talking about how he is going in October, and taking his granddaughter for the first time. If anyone is anxiously awaiting pictures, it may be a couple days. We did get everything sorted and ready for mailing, minus a few boxes. But we did sacrifice picture taking to get the sorting all done. Our 110 degree heat made it uncomfortable for me at times to keep my head, you can imagine if you are fighting a migrane at the same time (if you have been following along on the Color Swap thead). So I told Kat to TAKE A NAP.

"hello ladies, first and foremost I want to send a huge THANK YOU to Hope for coming over today and helping me sort the 2 swaps. It was a GREAT task. The first swap took about 2 hours to sort and shuffle through, the colors swap took about an hour. She did most of it letting me sit there and not moving to much.

Second, another Super huge THANK YOU for all the goodies that you all sent to me, I felt like it was birthday. Everything was fabulous and I will use it all!

Thirdly, like Hope said It may take me a couple days to get the photo's done. I laid down after she left and am still in bed my migraine is back in full force and being that I can't take any medicine the only soothing thing right now is darkness. My husband said he'd help me get the pictures done tomorrow so I can upload them.

Last thing, you all did an amazing job with all of your elements. I am so excited to use it all. I hope to do this swap again as it is so much fun! I am equally impressed that everyone who signed up turned everything in and on time, I thank you for that.

I am going to post this same message over on the Colors swap. I will mail either tomorrow or Monday at the latest.

I made it all work :) no worries.. I will post DC's tomorrow evening. Pictures are available now. I think my camera is about to croak :( . I haven't sorted the pictures so they are all mixed up. So part of the surprise is, who did what and where..at least until I sort them. Some are marked some are not.

I'm pleased with everything I got. Pretty in tink and I were talking tonight and we both agree that we need to be in more groups at a time. A group of 6 just wasn't enough!

In case anyone is wondering what I was thinking when I made mine, it was swimming, Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, HOT summer weather, etc. Also, after I sent them off, I found buttons to match at our local Wal-Mart, if anyone is interested.
