View Full Version : Lovely "Sort of Surprise" from Husband (Dubai)

Ok, so my husband isn't as "able to keep a secret" as many of you seem to be - he decided on a "surprise" trip to Dubai for our 5th wedding anniversary this July, accept he couldn't keep it secret and the surprise BURST out... :lmao:

Still, now it is nolonger a surprise, I have been able to help with booking things (hence my wrestling with Virgin Atlantic's site earlier...). :cool1:

Still, it is a lovely idea! We can only go for 4 days (he can't get any more time off work and we are going to Florida in September anyway), but it will lots of quality time just the two of us (Lucy is booked into her Grandparent's house for a few days).

Think it will be VERY hot, but it should be GREAT. Anyone here been to Dubai before - any hints and tips?

Hi Alice

I have never been to Dubai but DH has been loads of times with his work.

He loves it - but it will be extremely HOT when you are there.
Lovely body lotions too - bring loads back, they are very cheap apparently. (I got tons of them).

Also the gold - its expensive but not as dear as it is here.

You should enjoy it - I haven't heard a bad word said about the place.
And also the most important part ........ the food......... (is VERY good) !! :thumbsup2

I've been several times as a child - dad worked there. As Sue says it will be very warm. Plus, if I remember correctly, the shopping is fantastic:)
