WOW! What an upgrade!

My DB called me Saturday. He had just checked into the BWV using his points. He had reserved a 2-br Boardwalk view, so he was very confused when the CM told him he was upgraded. What is better than a BW view? CM said it was just an extra special view.

DB just shrugged if off thinking the CM was just not familiar with the villas.

Well when he got to his room and saw double doors, he thought something was really strange. When he went in he realized he had been upgraded to a Grand Villa! He just had to call someone and knew I would be the only one who would truely understand how great this was.

He is there for a whole week, the GV is over twice the amount of points he used for this reservation!

Lucky for me, I arrive on Friday of this week so I'll get to check out the GV before he checks out!

How great for your Brother. Upgrades are so rare!!

They are very rare, but do happen if there is some sort of maintenance problem in the room originally reserved, or perhaps they were overbooked..maybe a cash guest decided to stay a few nights extra in a 2 bedroom, leaving the resort short on 2 bedroom units.

This happened to friends of ours at the Boardwalk Villas also. They reserved a 2-bed and got upgraded to a GV - that was only for 2 nights though. Never heard of it happening at any other resorts funnily enough :confused3

Laura, this is uncanny - that could have been me posting. Like your db, we checked in and were told we'd got an upgraded view. We walked away muttering something along the lines of, "Hmmph, don't know how she works that out - we booked a BoardWalk view". Again, like your db, we arrived at the double doors and looked at one another; stupid grins starting to spread across our faces. As we walked in, housekeeping was just finishing up, so we waited demurely and thanked them politely. As soon as they'd left we ran around screaming! :rotfl:

Our GV was directly above Thimbles and Threads and ran across its entire length! If you take a look at a picture of the BoardWalk, you'll realise just how big it is. We spent the entire time giggling and congratulating ourselves. :woohoo:
