We close next month, can we make a cash ressie now and convert later?

Looking forward to our first trip as DVC members :). We close early next month on our BWV resale. I know we cannot make ressies to use our points until after we close.

We would like to take a trip in May. Is it possible to make a cash ressie for a BWV studio now and convert it to a points ressie next month after we close? I doubt it - but you guys would know better than I would. Thanks.

There is no allowed conversion from a cash ressie to a point ressie. You are dealing with two different inventories on rooms. The only thing you can do is make new ressie with points and then cancel cash one. That, of course, assumes you can make a point ressie for May after you close, which may be difficult because most rooms may already be reserved for that month.

No, since the reservations will come from 2 different room inventories, you can't just switch from a cash ressie thru CRO to a DVC ressie thru MS. You'll have to wait until the sale is closed and you're in the DVC computer. It usually takes about a week after closing.
