LOOKING AT THE BOARDS I CAN'T HELP BUT WONDER HOW MANY TIMES IS ENOUGH TO WDW. I MEAN USUALLY YOU CAN VISIT A PLACE A COUPLE OF TIMES AND THEN YOU MOVE ON, SEEING THIS WILL ONLY BE MY 2ND TRIP TO THE WORLD IT IS STILL VERY EXCITING TO ME, WHAT MAKES ALL OF YOU KEEP GOING BACK FOR MORE. HOW MUCH CAN CHANGE IN A YEAR? WE HAVE FRIENDS WHO GO TO WDW EVERY YEAR SOMETIMES TWICE A YEAR, I AM BAFFLED BY THIS. TRYING TO UNDERSTAND IN RHODE ISLAND .:confused3

Never stops:cool1: . We said on our third trip in three years that we would take a break the next year.:rotfl2: We bought DVC three months after returning from that trip. We have now been five times together and there are still new experiences on each trip. Yes we still do a lot of favorites on each trip, but we add some (never done that) things on each trip. We have just been given a grandchild to prepare for WDW trips. It is the only place you can go and leave your inhibitions behind and act like a child again or watch your grandchild experience it for their first time. It is not an amusement park, but rather an escape from reality while you are there. We countdown every trip and so look forward to being back there. Yes we go every year and love each trip. If you have only been once so far, I guarantee there is a lot of experiences you have not had yet.

Some people go to the same beach every year. Some people go to Europe every year. We don't know why but they do.
And yes, some people go to Disney every year.
Disney isn't just an amusement park it is a beautifully themed resort complex with four parks, golf courses, mini golf, water parks, a shopping complex, resorts and more! When you're at Disney the rest of the world and worries melt away. There is just something magical about Disney and the amount of detail that goes into everything. It is impossible to soak in all of the details and magic in one trip. We must go back for more.
I lived 1.5 hrs away and went 20+ times over 15 years as a kid. Now, I take my kids at least every year. WE love Disney even more now than when I was a kid. One thing is the princess theming and disney channel and disney movies--some call it too much marketing--but the Disney channel is one place where in the evenings, I know that there will be quality "kid" sanitized shows that appeal both to a 10 yr old and a 6 year old. WE got the Disney Scene It game and we have "Family Fun Nights." Thus, when we go to DisneyWorld, they see lots that they are familiar with and love--like High School Musical Pep really this year at MGM.
We LOVE disney and have MORE fun each time we go---as your kids grow older, they are interested in different things, so it's always something new. (and now, my kids want to see the Indiana Jones Movies--after seeing the show at MGM, but they had no clue about Indiana Jones).
When I am old and gray, I will look back fondly to these Disney days!

FINALLY THIS YEAR, I'VE BEEN ABLE TO ACTUALLY SAY, WE'RE DOING IT!! I COULD NOT BE MORE HAPPY! THIS SOUNDS SO CLICHE BUT ITS MAGICAL!! I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS YEAR OF A MILLION DREAMS - I HOPE I CAN BE IN THE RIGHT PLACE AT THE RIGHT TIME!:wizard:

We've been ten times in 17 years, including the last five years in a row. There's still so much we haven't done. Our last trip was 10 months ago & we're already anxious to go back!
It's so much more than a "theme park". It's a complete vacation resort. The Disney "magic" is in their commitment to excellence in their attractions, hotels, customer service, etc. On the other hand, Disney isn't for everyone. Most of us here on the DIS have become addicted to WDW! ;)
My wife & I have a goal of staying at every WDW hotel. We've got a long way to go, & we're looking forward to our future trips!
ETA: Yes, we do go other places, but WDW is our favorite vacation destination!

Well we don't go yearly. We are lucky enough to go every 4 years. I feel fortunate and know that many people never get to go to Disney World. But this year, we said maybe we will go somewhere different or maybe a cruise, that is much more relaxing. I started doing the research for cruising and just decided it wasn't for me, so we are going back to Disney again and I am as excited as I was for our first trip. It is such a magical place and there are always new experiences and even going with different people or your kids as they get older makes it a new experience. I don't really think I will ever get tired of going to Disney World. I look forward to going some day just hubby and I when the kids get too old to want to go with us and then to the day I can introduce my grandkids to Disney (hopefully not for a long time, being my oldest child is 13, but still someday). Anyway enough of my babbling. I LOVE Disney World!

DH and I went for the first time before we had kids, then didn't go back for 4 years. Once dd was 3 and ds was 2 we decided it was time (and won a trip on the radio) - since then we have been 2 times (twice last year) and are going again this Sept/Oct - There are still things we haven't done, like this time we are going to a water park and staying a WL - only stayed at POP before. To me disney is a place where everyone can be a kid, no grown up "stuff" to worry about - just watching the look on my kids faces makes it worth everything I go through to get us there. And I will admit - I LOVE DISNEY:cool1:

I'm still a newbie at 6 times. We always find new things to do/see/eat. This next trip will be just DH & I. Due to recent neck surgeries, I'll not be able to do all the rides, so will be seeing the shows and parades we've seemed to have missed the last couple of times with tweens and teens. Every experience is different each time. We also change up the time of year to take advantage of the special events at WDW.

This will be Dw's and my third trip together without children and it has already been designated as a scouting trip for where we will take our new grandson very soon.:rotfl2: We have not been there with toddlers yet, so we are planning for a whole new experience.:cool1:

I just started going in 2004 for the first time and I took my kids. DH had only been once and epcot and MK were the only parks that were open at that time so you know it had been awhile for him. The kids and I were so sad when we had to leave I told DH we have to go back and we did in 2005. 2006 we couldn't afford it and wanted to try something new so we went to Florida but tried BG:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:  NEVER AGAIN. Then we decided WDW was the best once a year trip for us. We all enjoy it and there is lots to discover. Then we just went again in March 2007. Then before heading back in 2008 I thought of heading to US for x-mas and missing WDW in March but the kids decided after WDW they don't want US they want to go back to WDW again. So for us it is WDW until us or the kids get bored of it. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!!!!!  :wizard:

This is our 5th trip in 7 years. There are not many places that go above and beyond to make your vacation really nice, but Disney does. We've had great trips and would love to go yearly (we're close, but not quite!)
One of the reasons we love going to Disney is we can take our teenage daughters and we actually spend vacation time together. Beach vacations have always turned into kids wanting to go off by themselves. At Disney, we all go on rides together and just run around the parks like 4 big kids!
DD, 16, said "mom, you don't spoil us with material things but you spoil us with vacations."
The way I see it, these girls won't remember the designer jeans you bought them for $80 but they will never forget the vacation where the flight was cancelled because of a hurricane and we got in the car and drove 18 hours straight to get there and were then surprised with a room upgrade.
At home we don't even have schedules that permit us to sit down and eat a meal all together! But in Disney we eat together every day!
Where else can you go and if you choose, you can tune out everything else that's going on in the world and just live in Fantasyland for a week?:thumbsup2

At least once/year for the last 16 years, but we had gone a couple of times prior to that and stayed off site. We'll go every year and already talk about how wonderful it would be to bring our family down when our children are married and have children. Boy, will that be different! Very cool, but very different, :woohoo:

Although we live 10 hours away, I will be making my 35th (more times than I am old) trip in June. Disney was our yearly family vacation growing up. I am continuing the tradition with my DD2 as the upcoming trip will be her 6th. My parents starting going more frequently once my DB and I were out of the house and they are in their mid-50's on their trip count. Gosh, those are wonderful memories!

The great thing about Disney is that they are constantly trying to update and add new attractions like Expedition Everest and Mission to mars while keeping the old favorites fresh. e.g. Pirates of the Caribbean. They also do a good job of hosting events like the food and wine festivel, flower show, holloween celebration, etc, etc. We became dvc members a few years back so we plan on visiting for quite a while. Some times my Dh & I go a don't really do alot of rides. We love the hotels, walking the parks and the restaurants. It can be as relaxing or as hetic as you want. My teenagers still love to vacation there even though they have out grown the movies. We think it's one of the best vacations (and vacation values) around.

We go 6 times/year and have been 54 times in the 22 years we've been married. My 15 year old has been 32 times, my 9 year old has been 26 times. It's pathetic. We really have an addiction, :rotfl2:
I'm having withdrawals, it's been 2 months and we can't go until June for our next trip. I need a frozen raspberry lemonade next to the teacups. Someone send me one!!!!:lmao:

I can't get enough of the Mouse!! My parents started the obsession when I was five and ever since then I have been at least every year. At my previous job I was blessed with almost 6 weeks of vacation, and with no kids to support it was easy for me to get 2 to 3 trips in a year. I did take on a new career this past year (hence the absense of extra trips this year) but now (since I'm out of retail) I can go enjoy the World for an entire week in December. I'm so excited!! I traded in my six weeks of restricted time for 3 weeks that I can go anytime. The best thing about Disney (for me) is it's a total stress reliever.:wizard:

I have young children and we have been 9 times since 12/03.
When I was a kid my parents took us several times in the mid-70's to about 1980. Then in 1986 I went and that was it until 2003.
We are addicted, too. We were just there last week and did some things that we have never done. There is so much to do it never gets boring. It takes no research, not much planning and is so easy (after being there so many times) -- just pack up the camper and go. We know how to get there and where everything is and the best times to do everything, etc.
We have annual passes so after putting out that initial money for them every other trip isn't so expensive especially now that we use our camper:)

I have been 20+ times to WDW. Some with my DH and DKs and some with DH and friends. Now the DGKs and I go at least once a year. I love watching their faces as they experience what I have loved for these many years.
When we are at the World, all the troubles at home, in town and the world, disappear for a week. We can spend the time together and get to know one another again.
There seems to be something new that we discover each time we go. As others have said, WDW is not an amusement park like Universal, Busch Gardens, etc. It is a resort with so many parts. The landscaping, the atmosphere, the food, and CMs make it appear to be a world of beauty and relaxation for us. Yes, we go to the parks, water parks, miniature golf and the rest, but when we come back for the night, it seems like home.
It is a feeling, is the best way I can explain it. Alot of people don't get it, but those that do, they have discovered a special MAGIC!

We can't make ourselves go anywhere else now. My DD13 suggested going back to the beach and my DH came unglued. He is the one who kept telling me we shouldn't buy into DVC becasue we would get burnt out and now he wont ever consider anything else.
What brings us back year after year? EVERYTHING! We love the Magic...we love the thrill, and there is always something new!

I think when you go on a vacation and have a fantastic time and find yourself thinking, "It would be so much fun to come back here!" then you know you have hit a vacation site that would be perfect for a return.
Then on the next trip if you find yourself still thinking, "This is great! There is so much we still want to do, or so much we want to do again," then you know you will come back.
I think that is all that happens with people. Just like folks have a favorite lake to camp at, or a favorite town to stay in, Disney is their favorite place. It is a vacation location they know will be a hit.

Our first trip (DH and myself) started with our honeymoon 26 years ago and we continue on with our next trip and first visit for Christmas the first week in December. Our DD(now 23) could be less interested in disney at this point-for her, beach is the place to be. I think this will be our 16th trip. We couldn't go every year before, tried for every2-3, but now if I can find good deals on air, this year we have 2 trips. It's the true magic of disney that keeps us coming back. I just love all of it! Where else can you have such a magical time? I can't think of one, can you?:goodvibes

I've gone so many times now, it's funny. When we went at Christmas last year, DH and I agreed that it would be the last time for awhile. Then I combined a solo trip with business in February and ended up down there 4 days. :lmao:
Now, Here we go again, in June. I can't wait. I guess I echo the sentiments of man others on these boards. It's just a fun place to be a kid again. No, the park/place doesn't change much (with the number of times I've been), but I still haven't seen or done everything. I really dont' get tired of it.
In the summer, I go to the beach almost every weekend and there's nothing wrong with that, so what's wrong with going to Disney every year, or twice a year, or every month ...

My October trip will be trip number 25 for me. Usually I only go once a year but I bought an annual pass this year so I had to plan two extra trips to get my money's worth. I'm really excited to go in October this year because I've always gone in winter or spring and am anxious to see what it's like.

We've only gone to WDW once, but I can easily see how people could go year after year.
The thing is, a year is a long time. Waiting that long to do something fantastically fun can make it seem like an eternity!
Plus, Disney is always changing things, just as Walt intended - always "plussing" the parks and their attractions.
Finally, it would take a month just to do everything that's currently there!
So, it's easy to see why people want to go back every year.
We now take several five night trips each year on-site plus many day trips. First trip for us was our honeymoon in 1978. We keep coming back because we enjoy the consistently high level of product and service. The CMs are fabulous!

We always take trips as a family, the whole immediate family (Grandpa, Nana, Auntie, Uncle, Mommy (ME), Daddy and son). :grouphug: When we are at Disney it truly is magical. I forget about the outside world and outside worries. We've taken many vacations together to various places, doing various activities but it's not the same. Disney is truly where dreams come true. Sounds corny, I know, but it's true......

I am 30, and I know I have been at least once a year for my whole life. My aunt is a CM, who used to sign me in. Now I pay good money to go back every year , and it is worth every penney! WDW is my happy place:cloud9: . I went as a child with my family, and going now with my Husband and kids makes it even better! Watching my kids enjoying the Magic, makes me want to go back again, and again!

Three times at Disney World and once at Disneyland. While at Disneyland I was missing Disney World, soooo different, I was missing the real magic. We just got back in January and I am ready to go back again.

I've been to WDW 9 times (the 10th time will be in 38 days, WOOOO HOO!!!) and I've been to DL at least 5 times, I think it could be more like 8 or 9 but there are a few summers in there I'm fuzzy on.
People who say "Why go back? You were just there, not much has changed" just don't get it. Disney's not just a destination and someplace to empty your wallet, it's a break from reality, a happy, joyous break from the day-to-day doldrums. I wish I lived closer, we'd be there much more than once a year! I'd love to have the luxury of going there just for dinner some night, or just to shop around, or... or....or....to have that Florida resident's annual pass in my hand and live close enough to do that is my idea of Shangri-La!!!

Growing up, my parents took me 1ce or 2ce a year, depending on what other trips we had planned for the year. Then as I was old enough to start traveling on my own in high school and college, we started going 3 and 4 times a year, sometimes with friends, sometimes with family. We just go whenever we can find good airfare. Sometimes we've booked the next trip while we are down on the current trip because we've been able to find cheap flights! :) There is -always- new stuff to see, new things to do. On every trip, I have to do some old favorites, but I always run out of time for all the stuff I want to do. That's why we have to schedule another trip!! :) I think trips to Disney recharge my soul so I can make it few the next months until the next trip :)
This last year, I really started thinking about -why- I want to go so often, and I convinced myself that it really wasn't all that magical and I could easily go a whole year without a trip and it wouldn't bother me. Well I've never had such crazy withdrawl symptoms like this in my life from anything else. And I still have 6 months to go until my trip back!!! There is just something there that I need to survive :D I won't make this mistake again and let so many months go by without another trip! :)

I've been 3 times, DH has been twice. Our first trip together, DH was like okay we'll go because you want to. As we were driving home, he asked how soon we could go back. When we got back last year he said we wouldn't go again until we had kids. Three months later, DH was asking when we could go again. We're going this September and taking my 5-year old niece.
To me, WDW is an escape from the real world and all its pressures. It's a place where we can be kids again and believe in fairy tales and giant mice. It's hard to explain really. You either "get it" or you don't. Luckily for me, my DH "gets its". I see many more trips in our future.

We've gone twice so far, Aug 2004 and Aug 2006 and we are going again in October for MNSSHP and we absolutely cannot wait. I have an autistic son who wouldn't appreciate a lot of other vacation destinations but loves DW and it's one of the only places I've seen real joy on his face. For that alone, I put myself in hock getting him there. He also has a twin brother, also on the spectrum, who lives in sort of a fantasy playland with Harry Potter and magic and dragons and he too, is so happy there, he can totally be himself there. We leave autism and teasing and not being picked at gym and funny looks at the door when we get there and we enter a happy place, one I try to keep on a smaller scale at home, and the memories from that trip keep our memories going until the next one. We'll be going for the rest of our lives because it's more than a vacation for us.

The great (and smart:thumbsup2 ) thing about Disney is that it keeps evolving to meet the vacationers needs. If you think back to the 1970's, WDW was pretty much a one dimensional:confused3 , two day vacation. 30 years later it is a multi-dimensional vacation experience.
We've been to WDW 4 times in 5 years (I visited twice in the 70's) and we are planning on a DVC purchase this fall. I have been to other places, Bermuda, St. Marteen, Key West, Cruises.... but what I like about Disney is the consistancy. You always know what you're getting and you always feel safe.
I guess the bottom line is that as Disney evolves further, more entertainment will come on line to provide more things to do in a week or ten days so that no two trips will be the same:banana: . Heck, out of the 4 recent trips, the only consistantly regular thing we've done is ride the same rides, and we all know that never gets old!:thumbsup2

I've been at least 100 times if not more. Between the quick day trips, school trips for chorus, and vacations with the boytoy I've lost count.

Well, I live in the middle of the US so it's pretty much just as close to Disneyland as it is to Disneyworld. I think I have been to WDW as least 10 times and Disneyland also at least 15 times (grandmother lived in Costa Mesa, CA and we visited every year) with the last trip in December for my birthday. We will be headed to WDW in 11 days. We have been on the Magic once and the Wonder once with another Disney cruise booked for
Jan. 08 for our 20th anniversary.

Too many times to count! We went several times as a kid, then I participated in the College Board program and work at Epcot for a semester. After that, I stayed in Orlando and went all the time. Now, living in Texas, we have gone once or twice each year since 1993.
I usually spend two weeks there a year: 1 in the early fall and 1 sometime after Christmas.
The place is so huge with so many things to do (or not to do).
One of my secretaries has asked me, "How can you go to Disney all the time?" This, the same person who spends two weeks each year at the same beach in her home town in New Jersey. When I ask her how she can go every year to the same place, she says, "I'm going home to visit my family and friends."
I reply, "So am I. Disney is family and friends!"

I've only be 3 times, for years check out my signature.
I wish I could have gone more but it's quite a distance from where I live and rather expensive so Disney world was more of a nice treat. My parents were trying to do a every four years thing but once I was in highschool my parents didn't want to pull me from school, I took a trip to Europe one year and we had a trip to the Jersey shore every year for our vacation already so there was little money for a Disney vacation. It's been so long since I've been to Disney it will be like visiting a old friend. :) I hope he hasn't changed to much, I know Uncle Epcot has changed quite a bit but that seems it so I am excited for my next visit this year.
