Ok gang! I've seen a lot of threads from DVCers in other states checking in with their fellow DVCers but not one for us local folk here in Florida. How 'bout my fellow Floridians show me some love???
Coming to ya from Orlando, FL (a Local WDW Fan). :)
We live in Tallhassee. Currently at Disney, staying off site at the Fountains. We leave today and go to VB staying in a 2 BR which we got on an exchange, our usual method of securing DVC reservtions now days.

We're here in Naples for a few more weeks before we head off to Maryland till October. It's about a three and a half hour drive from here to WDW so we've been there three times in the past six months. It certainly beats out the hassle of flying down from NJ. As we drive up, I always think to myself, if only we retired to Winter Haven instead, we'd be sooo much closer and could go sooo much more often.
We absolutely love the winter weather down here. It's gorgeous! I was a little worried about moving out of NJ after living there 60 years, but we are quite thrilled with Florida and happy we took the plunge.

Hi, I'm here. Lived in Orlando all my life. Worked as CM from 1972-1976. My DH and I bought into DVC in 1994 after I had spent a fortune taking my DS and DD to WDW. We use to stay at DL now FQRS. I am a Disney fanatic. Not so my DH. :sad2: I am a RN of 30 years and am thinking of retiring and going back to work at WDW preferably at one of the DVC resorts.

Northeast Florida-Orange Park-2 hours 15 minutes from my other Homes the Villas @ Wilderness Lodge and Boardwalk Villas.
We live just east of Tampa.
We are on vacation this week - checked into a timeshare over at Cocoa Beach on Saturday... drove over to OKW on Wednesday... checked out yesterday and drove back to the beach, where we're staying 'til tomorrow. It worked out well... we didn't have to drag the surfboard over to WDW! :)
We just passed our 10-year anniversary as DVC members! Our timeshare at Cocoa is an every-other-year usage, which complements our DVC really well.

Except that in Florida, the bottom left is really right and the bottom right is really left!
Unless you live in the part of the bottom right which is actually right, or you live in Key West, in which case that bottom left is truly bottom left!
We live in Miami...which means we need Rinkwide's meds!

We're here in Tequesta. Just about 20 minutes north of WPB, spent last nite at Vero Beach since my DD played in a softball tournament 20 minutes south. Any excuse for a nite at Disney. Had a wonderful evening and the CM's are still the best there. There was a wedding going on so it was a special place to be.:cool1:

I live east of Tampa. I love being an hour from the mouse!
Formerly from PA, we moved to Orlando last June. We now live fifteen minutes NE of MCO. Not only did we keep our DVC we added on at AKV when it opened sales.
We are at HH at the moment enjoying our first visit to the island and the resort here.
JimMIA -- what a great post :rotfl2:

Orlando resident here - takes about 10 minutes (depending on lights) to get from my apartment to all of the WDW DVC resorts except for VWL which takes more like 15 minutes. I love being able to take a mini-vacation so easily.

We are in Jacksonville - a 2hr trip if I drive or 2.5 if the wife drives.
Were at the Swan last weekend and are taking another quick trip and staying at SSR on cash next weekend. Have to get our fix in before the summer. We don't visit WDW during the summer so our next trip won't be until Aug.

Smart move! We don't go during the summer either. Our next trip isn't until October...4-night stay at OKW. Man, that's 150 days away. Bummer! :guilty:

Orlando (Ocoee) here. Wifey and I joined in January and have a Memorial Day weekend booked at the BCV. We finally realized it was better to own DVC if we were going to keep doing our mini vacations.

The mini-vacations are exactly why we joined. Nothing like going down to WDW for a few days to get away from the "rat race" and recharge the batteries. :thumbsup2

First post. We live in Land O Lakes, just North of Tampa.
It is an hour and 15 minutes, unless one of the kids forces a pit stop in Lakeland!
We joined in January. Mother's day begins 3 nights at SSR with another week coming up around Labor Day.
