View Full Version : A Secret Dream for DD

Here's the Scoop:
We'll be going at the end of June/beginning of July. My elder DD, 16, says, "My Dream would be tickets to La Nouba."
Well, thanks to some extra work, and luck, we're able to purchase the tix for Cirque, but she doesn't know it.
(She'd never look here, the DisBoards are for Dad, and little sis, she's much too cool.):cool2:
So, how do I make it seem just as close to a Dream as possible? My thoughts:
1. Waiter/waitress - We have ADR's for Ohana the night of the circus, I could get the tix in hand to the waiter/tress and ask that person to give them to DD.
2. Younger DD and I always do the morning breakfast walk while elder DD starts her day a tad later. We could ask someone at the POFQ desk to call DD over when we walk through on the way to our bus.....
3. DISers best ideas.....

Maybe you could just dummy up a letter of some kind and put it and the tickets inside an envelope addressed to your family. Then when you leave for your walk...just slide the envelope under the door so DD can find it.

Also, the prizes from the YOAMD mail-in contest come with a card that basically says "congratulations...keep dreaming" and they're signed by a dream team member. I no longer have mine, but maybe someone has one they'd be willing to mail you...you could slip the tickets in that.

What a great dad!!!

CM's love helping out with stuff like this. Try to track one down at the Guest Services of your hotel or Guest Relations in one of the park and propose your ideas to them (or hear theirs'). I'm sure they will provide quite a magical experience!

Calypso - That is a good idea, about slipping the tix under the door. It's so tricky - I would like it to come off as a Dream rewarded...assuming her final grade in Latin is what I hope it will be. Thanks for thinking, and responding.

V - I have already tried to cut and paste some "Year" art so I could put the tix in something official looking. I know I can ask for an envelope from the front desk that might work.....we're going to have lots of fun. Thank you for your ideas.

you could also do what we did... i had planned a fireworks cruise and made up a certificate/scroll thingy and snuck it to the server at Chef Mickey's and she had all the characters gather 'round, sprinkle our table w/pixie dust (after we were done eating!) and gave us our certificate! (i had help making the certificate over at the Creative DISigns board)...

ergo, i agree w/the others, if you get a CM or two involved, it will be magical :)

Gigi, and all,
Thanks very much for the good ideas. I will work on a certificate, that seems to add "official" status to lots of things, as it would, this.
Again, we're lucky to be able to be doing this, I know that. And I've added to the already extant hype of YOAMD, it would just be fun to add some magic to the night. And we will.
