I plan on renting a stroller at the park but one of the things my DS4 pirate: wants to do is ride the train so i'm wondering if these strollers will fit. Otherwise I suppose we will ride the train first thing all the way around the park and then rent the stroller. It would be really nice though if they did fit. Please let me know.

No, the rental strollers do not fit on the train - they are hard plastic and do not fold.

When you get on the train, you park the stroller but take your name card and stuff with you. When you get off at the next train stop they will give you a new stroller.

I was going to ask the same question? So when you get off at the train in MK say in fantasy land and go to frontier land, they will have another stroller for me to pick up? Or is this just for the train from each park? I'm so confused!!! :confused3  :sad2:

The railroad being asked about stays in Magic Kingdom. It has stops at Main Street (actually, the station is before Main Street), Frontierland and Mickey's Toontown Fair.
Theoretically, there are supposed to be unused strollers waiting at the Frontierland and Toontown Fair stations, but that's not a 100% guarantee.
The only "train" between any of Disney's theme parks is the monorail that you can take from Magic Kingdom to Epcot (with a stop in between where you must switch trains). There are no trains going between any of the other parks.

Just what CleveRocks said. Theoretically since anyone renting a stroller must leave it behind when they board a train so there should be "spare" strollers just sitting there when you get off. I've honestly never seen the area free of rental strollers so you shouldn't have a problem but that could vary depending on how busy the parks are that day too.
Edit to add: There are also a few stroller rental stations scattered throughout the park. Here's a list of where they are
Magic Kingdom
Stroller Shop 8-273-6644
Main rental is to the right as enter the turnstiles
Replacements:
Main Street U.S.A. at Strollers/Wheelchairs
Frontierland at the Trading Post
Tomorrowland at the Tomorrowland Terrace

And to add to what the pp said - the Monorail is the only "train" that goes between parks (Epcot, MK, and three resorts) AND you cannot take the rental strollers out of the parks so once you leave the park to board the Monorail, you will not have a stroller for the ride to the other park. Save your stroller receipt if you plan to park hop though and you can get another stroller at the next park.
I hope that makes sense.
