Hello I read a thread stating that different resorts would be featured on the travel channel, I can't seem to find it on my cable channels. Do we need digital cable to get this channel. Any body know?

Travel Channel "Great Hotel's" Features Disney Resorts
The Travel Channel has just come out with a new show called Great Hotels with host Samantha Brown. They have recently been to the Disney resort to showcase some of them on the show.

The tentitive air dates for the shows are:

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge: Jan 6, Jan 21, Jan 23, March 11 and March 13th

Disney's Yacht and Beach Club Resort will also be showcased however they have not released the air dates yet as they just finished production

Unfortunately like all of the other great channels on our airwaves here in Canada, due to government regulations, they have to have a specific amount of Canadian content in their programs. This means that our Travel, Food, Home & Garden, Animal Planet to name a few, are Canadianized versions of their American counterparts. Unfortunately this means that all of these great behind the scenes shows on the "real" Travel channel (US) are not available in Canada. I have been watching a free preview of the Travel Channel here in Canada (and yes you must have digital cable or satellite - if you have US grey market satellites you will get US Travel Channel) and I am EXTREMELY disappointed in the program selections. Many of the behind the scenes shows which showcase Disney resorts are not available here in Canada. Instead, our Travel Channel feels the need to show us Canadian cities all of the time. I have emailed Bell ExpressVu (my satellite provider) as well as the Travel Channel and have heard the usual CRTC garbage. That is why I am not subscribing to this channel and like you everytime I see posts on these boards about the great hotel specials from Disney or Universal on the US Travel Channel, I get so frustrated because usually they are not available to us in Canada.

Sorry for the long message, but this is one area that makes me and my DH very frustrated. I wouldn't even bother subscribing to this station if I were you, because you won't see the programs that you wish to see that are broadcast on the Us Travel Channel. Also, the Canadian Travel Channel for one shows the same few programs over and over, and does not even feed in the most popular US Travel Channel programs such as the ones you are describing. On Friday for example, 24 Hours in Calgary was on 4 times in an 18 hour period! If we see one more show on the Travel Channel about catching salmon in Canada, or skiing, (you'd think that's all there is to do in Canada), we are going to scream!!

Boy oh boy, I sure wish we could get the same t.v. shows. I love watching any show wiith a wdw resort in it, even full house LOL.
