Hi! I'm Lara:wave: For what it's worth....here's my trip report. I believe in short sweet and to the point, so I will try to be brief in my chapters...

Chapter One: The Surprise

Well...it all started with a secret. 8 months ago I booked a trip to Disney. My kids had no idea. I made all of my dream ADR's six months ago, my kids had no idea. I bought clothes, packed bags, got everthing together, and my kids had no idea.

We went to the airport, the kids had no idea. We checked in, again, no clue. We went through security, got on the plane and took off...my kids just thought we were "going for an airplane ride". We got off the plane in Orlando and took the train over to the main airport...the kids are still clueless.

Once we get past security, my dad and step mom are standing there...we say "surprise! look who's meeting us for lunch"...the kids still don't get it. They ate lunch while mommy ran and checked in for the Magical Express.

Everyone changed into shorts (we went to the bathrooms, we didn't do it in the food court...although I guess that would have made a better trip report);)

We went downstairs, parted from my father and headed to the Magical Express. When we walked out of the airport, my daughter saw Mickey's picture on the bus...she started to get wise. We settled on the bus and she looked outside...and saw a palm tree. The link below will show you what happened next (just click on the underlined part and make sure your sound is on).

I'm here for your trip report. The link works on my computer. Wouldn't everyone just love to be surprised like that? You're making me try to think of some excuse to get the kids on the plane. I don't think I could sneak luggage past my 8 year old thought without him rethinking the whole, "We're just going on a plane ride." explanation.

So we get on the boat at WL to go over to Magic Kingdom for the afternoon. The kids are still a little bit in shock. Not sure we're really IN Disney. We came out of the canal next to the Contemporary and my DD saw the Castle in the distance. She was soooooo happy.

I realized we were arriving at 3:05 and would be walking in on the parade. I warned my DH that it would be swamped and we may have to stand around for a little while. Imagine my surprise and joy when we walked into the Magic Kingdom and sat right on the curb outside of the train station to watch the parade! (no we did NOT sit in front of someone else...no flames for THIS trip report!)

A CM came over and started talking to us. We had a ten minute wait for the parade to get to us. He gave my DD some pixie dust....she treated it like loose diamonds, carefully placing each mickey head into her pocket. DS still was not really sure of what was going on (he's only two and a half). Then the parade came around the corner and he saw this.....
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/DSC01386.jpg

We watched the parade and then headed up Main street. We hooked a right and went to Tomorrowland. Grabbed a FP for Buzz...rode TTA and COP and then hopped onto Buzz.

We went back over to Wilderness Lodge and ate at Whispering Canyon (all you can eat skillet all the way around). DH drank his soda too fast and ended up with the "big cup" of soda....DD asked for catsup....need I say more about that?

We went to be the first night with our hearts full and our feet tired....Crystal Palace was on the agenda for the next morning.

Coming Up....Chapter Four, Pooh, Dumbo and the Mad Hatter.

Great report so far. We almost ate at Whispering Canyon last trip but Mission Space screwed me up for a few days. We went to HDDR the night I rode and the time it took and all the trouble getting back was too much so I called and changed the ADR to something else. I'm still hoping to eat there one day. Our upcoming trip it too short so maybe next time. :) I'm still trying to figure out if DS already thinks we are going. I'm on the disboards all the time and he was acting funny one day so I thought maybe he read my ticker but he never really said anything and I don't think he could hold that kind of info in. I just don't want to say, "Hey, we're going to Disney World today." and have the response be, "I thought so." I want screams and bewilderment! I want to win on AFV! :rotfl:

So one of the things we really like to do is to make early ADR's in the parks so we can get in before park opening. For our first full day, we went to Crystal Palace. We took the boat from Wilderness Lodge over to the Contemporary. How's this for a neat picture...

Got to CP and got the first seat on the left side of the Restraunt....had a yummy breakfast and saw Pooh...
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/IMGP0021.jpg

After breakfast, we went over to the castle for the interior rope drop...walked over to Dumbo, rode Dumbo. Went on Peter Pan, Went on Pooh, looked at my watch...it was 9:40. Went on the "mean lady" ride (Snow White)...DS scared, DD scared by defiant. Went on Small World. Walked over to Toontown at 10 and rode Goofy's Barnstormer....twice. (DS's first rollercoaster...he loved it).

We went over to the tea cups and DH and DD rode the teacups...mom will not ride and DS can't (he's a puker). Then we saw Alice and the Mad Hatter...they were GREAT!!!!!

We have two breakfast ressies at 9:45...that is early enough for us....LOL

Sounds like you got a good amt rides done early on...:thumbsup2

Can;'t wait to read about Haunted Mansion Horror...

We took DS on it last year and he was about 2 and half and fell asleep in line, so we didn't have to worry about him being scared...

So, let me first say that I love my dad and step-mom. Next, let me say that I was ready to kill them right after our Haunted Mansion debacle.:furious:

A little back story...

Around November, my DD started realizing that Santa would be visiting her soon. One day, the family was sitting around the table and she asked her father and I how you spell "Haunted"....we didn't ask why, we just told her. Then she asked how to spell "Mansion"...we got curious. We told her how to spell it and asked her why she was asking. She said "I'm making my list for Santa". The first thing on the list was "Haunted Mansion".

We asked her what she was talking about...she said she wanted the "Haunted Mansion"...we asked if she wanted to go there or if she wanted the movie. She said both. For the next month and a half, she consistantly had "Haunted Mansion" at the top of her Santa list. I was skeptical...after all, she's only 4, but we went ahead and told Santa he could bring the "Haunted Mansion" DVD....she and her brother watched it on the 26th of December.

If you haven't seen the Haunted Mansion movie...it's pretty intense. Both kids sat transfixed. A couple of times I paused the movie and asked "are you sure you want to watch this" they both said "YES!". They watched the whole movie...twice. No nightmares or anything like that.

So when we got to Disney, we figured they would like to go on the Haunted Mansion ride. We waited until we met up with my dad because we figured they'd like to go too....big mistake. My dad started jacking the kids up talking about how "scary" the ride would be. I had been telling them there was a scary part at the beginning, but nothing scary on the ride. By the time the elevator got to the "bottom"...both my kids (and several others) were sobbing in terror. In fact, my daughter got so upset she lost her shoe...do you know how freakin dark it is in the Haunted Mansion???

So instead of stepping aside, letting other people pass and helping me find the shoe...DH says "she lost her shoe" and procedes to get on the ride with my dad and step mom leaving me holding my sobbing 2 and a half year old behind. I did not get on the ride because my daughter kinda NEEDED A SHOE!

So I go back in the "elevator" the next time the doors open...no shoe. Ask a CM if there's a shoe...no shoe. I look in the hallway where they load the Doombuggies, no shoe. DS is saying "Mommy…I wanna get outa here!!!!!" over and over. So I go out the "chicken exit" to find my husband (so I can punch him and give him DS). They get off the ride and I hand off DS (don't punch husband…he says DD was scared the whole trip and she is clinging to him….I was afraid I'd miss and punch her).

So I go to the CM and explain the shoe situation….he says I can't go back the way I came, but could go through the line again. He calls to a central number and lo and behold, they found the shoe….they send it over via Doombuggie….

So DD's shoe saw Haunted Mansion….but I didn't:sad1:

So after the Haunted Mansion debacle...I was in a bit of a mood. We went over and watched Donald's Butt (otherwise known as Mickey's Philharmagic). That perked me right up:thumbsup2 . DH skipped out and went shopping instead, and that perked him right up.;)

We decided it was time to go and get lunch and take a nap. We went back by boat to Wilderness Lodge (god that's a great trip). We grabbed something to eat in the food court and I put the kids down for a nap. My dad waited for me downstairs so that he could give me a ride over to the Dolphin to pick up our rental car (I got a GREAT deal...$224 for a week with National for a standard SUV).

When we got back...I did something bad. I bought my first pins....:sad2: I am totally hooked on pins now...I left the house with none...came back with about 15.:lovestruc

After naps...we went over to Epcot...we walked in and say the topiary of Peter Pan...WOW (will post pic later). We headed over to the new Nemo ride...it was very cute, the kids liked it. We then started strolling towards Germany...got a couple of pics with characters on the way.

Ate dinner in Germany and ran into TWO (not one, but two totally non-related) Disers:banana: How's this for neat...they were seated together...at the table RIGHT BEHIND me. DD danced the night away and we stuffed ourselves sick on "wursts".

On the way out of Epcot, I got a wish :cool1: While in Mousegears, a CM walked over to me and gave me a card with two "Year of a Million Dreams" pins. One was for me and one was for me to gift to someone else. How cool is that? I tucked the pin away to find just the right person to give it to.

Went back to the hotel and hit the bed to prepare for the next morning.

Coming up: Chapter Seven...Mickey hosts Breakfast and Splash Mountain Saves the Day!

Glad to hear your vacation turned aruond after HM disaster.

I, too loved Philharmagic...DH skipped it last year to go on space mountain and after hearing how awesome it was, ,he was disappointed he missed it.

So, how did you recognize the two Disers? Did they have LGMHs on them somewhere?

Yeah, you got a dream!!! Can't wait to hear who you passed it on, too.
So, you are a pin addict now?LOL Did you trade a lot or did you keep your pins?

Can't wait to hear more!!

So the next morning (Sunday) we get up and take the boat over to the Contemporary...another gorgeous morning.

We had a welcoming committee....
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/DSC01463.jpg

Then we went up for Breakfast with Mickey...
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/DSC01466.jpg

We did have one incident at breakfast...DD wanted to see what Minnie's nose felt like. Well, instead of asking and touching it gently, she grabbed Minnie's nose and pulled. Poor Minnie! I blistered DD and made her apologize, but she was pretty upset by the incident (it was a very nice Minnie). DD got over it.

DH's feet were a mess by this point (blisters on his blisters) so we took the monorail over to the park rather than walk. Good timing, we walked up just as they opened the gates...so we didn't have to stand in a mob, but we were there for park opening.

We hit Aladdin for a heartbeat and rode it, then went over to Splash Mountain. DD and I went to get on splash mountain without a FP, because the wait was only listed as 10 minutes....well they lied...the wait was NOTHING!!!!!! We literally walked throught the line and stepped onto a boat...here' is DD on Splash:

The top of the hill
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/IMGP0070.jpg
So we get off of Splash Mountain and my dad and step mom have arrived...they want to go on the ride, so we go back through the line...again we walk right up to the boarding area and ride it again. TWO RIDES ON SPLASH MOUNTAIN WITH ZERO WAIT!

At that point we decide it's not fair to DS to just watch us riding splash mountain...so we take the train over to Toon Town and hit the roller coaster...twice. Again, minimal waits. We want to see if the streak can continue, so we head over to Buzz Lightyear. There is almost no wait again and we ride. (I suck at Buzz Lightyear by the way....DH always beats me) We went over to the exposition hall building, 'cause I haven't been there in years. Here are the kids playing on the picture sets...
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/IMGP0079.jpg

We went back for lunch at the food court. Second downer of the day is that DS throws up during lunch (not unusual for him, he has an auto-immune disorder that causes him to vomit regularly). He wants no part of finishing lunch (and refuses to go back into the food court) So I took him up for nap.

Coming up after nap....

You're just moving right along. I would have kicked DH since DD was above where you would have kicked. ;) I took DS to see HM at the theater. He was 5 or 6. The opening sequence was sooooo scary. He covered his eyes and made me cover his ears. As a result I didn't make him ride it last trip and I was really looking forward to riding it this trip but it will be closed. What kind of shoes was your DH wearing? I got the whole family Crocs for our upcoming trip and can't wait to see if they are as good as everyone says. I get so tired of blisters on every freaking trip.

Love the topiary. I want to go during the flower thing one year (and the Halloween party and the Christmas party). I would just like to live at Disney for a whole year! :rotfl:

So Sunday Evening was intentionally scheduled to be a relaxing evening. We went for a swim, walked around the hotel and then went to dinner.

We took some more pictures of the Wilderness Lodge. We fell in love with the lodge...we had been choosing a different hotel each time (two hotels each time) but now we're hooked. We will not be changing any more...Wilderness Lodge is it (now I just have to make sure to save enough money to afford the extra price).

Here are a couple more pictures....

Speaking of beautiful hotels...our dinner reservations were at the Grand Floridian. Yummy buffet! In fact, one of the best dinner buffet's we've been to. I couldn't eat enough to try all the dishes that looked good. The characters were great and the service was excellent. Here are some pictures...
One of the mice (I don't know what's what)

So we took the monorail back over to Magic Kingdom and hopped a boat back to Wilderness Lodge. As we made our transfer, we saw all the people streaming into Magic Kingdom to take advantage of the evening EMH....glad we decided not to go to the parks that evening...it looked mobbed.

So on Monday, we packed up and loaded the rental car to move from Wilderness Lodge to Port Orleans French Quarter. We were kind of sad to leave, as we'd fallen in love with WL.

Before we left, I got to forward my second "dream" pin to someone else. I had been carrying the pin around, looking for just the right person...well, at breakfast I saw a little girl, probably about 10, sitting with her father. She was wearing a lanyard with pins and a Tink t-shirt. I went over and gave her the dream pin explaining that two had been given to me with the provision that I had to pass one along at random to continue the dream. Both daughter and father's faces lit up....you could tell it made their morning. That was FUN!

We drove over to POFQ and checked in, then headed off to Typhoon Lagoon for the day.

When we got there...guess what....we got another dream! I went over to rent a locker and the CM asked if we had towels...I said no that we were deciding if we would buy some or rent some...well she said that as part of the Year of a Million Dreams, she was giving me a free locker complete with two refillable mugs, four rental towels, a waterproof case and a certificant.:goodvibes My second dream!!!

Also, I have to forward this service announcement:

PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE WILL BE NO PICTURES OF ME IN A BATHING SUIT POSTED....EVER!

We got a great spot right near the kiddie section, under a hut. We had a wonderfully relaxing lazy day. We floated on the lazy river for at least an hour....bliss!

DS fell asleep in my arms after lunch, and took a nice hour long nap. Of course, since I was "babied", I had no choice but to sit totally still and inactive for that hour...it was wonderful.

At about 3, we went over to POFQ to take showers. We were in Building 5 on the side facing away from the pool...what a great room! I'll post pics of POFQ later. We all got showered and headed off to our dinner ADR at Cape May.

We had a little time to kill, so we went in to Epcot to wander around the British Empire for a while. First we went over to England and ran into Mary Poppins while the kids were playing in the maze.

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/IMGP0090.jpg

Then DD wanted to make a call (actually, we take this picture ever trip so we can see how she grows...)
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/DSC01525.jpg

Then we went over to Canada and listened to the music for a while and took another quick picture...
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/DSC01528.jpg

After playing around, we walked back to the Beach Club for dinner. I'm sorry to report that I was disappointed in Cape May. It was ok, but hey, I live in Annapolis, Maryland...we kind of corner the market on good seafood in my neck of the woods. I should know not to get shellfish in Florida...oh well...it wasn't terrible or anything and DH ate enough clams that we know we got our money's worth.

We headed back to the hotel to get some sleep as we had an early ADR scheduled the next morning...

Coming up....Chapter Ten...Donald, a Yehti and Bugs...oh my!

Hey Lara, I asked this on the long thread but you had left and prolly didn't see it. You said you came back with an extra suitcase. Did you buy one while you were there. We were thinking of only doing carry-ons and getting out of the airport quicker. We have a rental car and will stop at Wal-Mart and I know we will need more space to pack coming home (DS will try his best to clean out the Lego Store). Just wondering how to work it if we decide to do it that way. Of course I would need a good list to hit Wal-Mart with to get the liquids that we couldn't take with us. Medicines, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body wash... is it worth it?

We checked luggage going down and back....coming back we realized we didn't have enough space. Luckily, my dad lives a couple of hours from Orlando and was coming to see us on our departure day...I borrowed a small suitcase/backpack of his. Disney also has a great deal where if you spend $50 in a hotel gift shop you can get a really nice tote for $10...that was out other carry on.

So on Tuesday we left the hotel nice and early to head over to Animal Kingdom for an early ADR. Got to the parking lot before the gates even opened and waited for them to let us in. I may not do the early ADR here the next time. It's frustrating to get in to park (we always rent a car) and you have to wait for forever and a day to be seated. The characters are in and out so fast, you only have one chance to get a picture...kids eyes closed, tough luck! The food is ok at best. One thing I will say is that the chef here was fantastic. My son has food allergies and he wasn't comfortable with him eating anything on the buffet line because they use too many of the ingredients he is allergic too on the grill. So he made my son a special Mickey pancake with preserves from the back....REALLY nice.

Anyway, after we ate, we went out to wait for the rope to drop inside of Dino-Land. DH took the kids and I took off when the rope went down. I'd never been on Expedition Everest (DD too short by an inch) and I'm a coaster junkie. So I take off with the EE crowd to the next hold point with another rope. The CM's are watching the crowd coming in from the main gate. One CM clearly wanted to let us pass sooner than the other. So the CM's finally start backing up and leading us to EE. The one that wanted to let us go says to us...want to ride first? Come this way! Some of the people who were with me were like "no, I just want fast passes"....duh! If you ride first, you can still swing out and get fast passes! I, of course, followed him and ended up being the first person (front seat) on the first train!:cool1: VERY cool ride. I think I have a new overall favorite!

By the time I got out, DH was just walking up the path towards me. The Monkeys were making a huge racket, so we walked over to watch the monkeys for a few minutes and then strolled over to the Safari. The line was already pretty long, so we grabbed fast passes and walked the trail first. By the time we got out, it was time to use our fast passes.

The Safari was really good, lots of animals (of course, I didn't get lots of pictures). After that we walked over and let my daughter talk is into Bugs Life (she wasn't having a good day, extra whiny). Well, BIG mistake! DD loved it, but DS FREAKED! Poor baby.

After Bugs Life we went over and did the triceratops ride. It was blazing hot by that point and DD was melting down...so we called it a day at AK. We headed back to the hotel for a much needed nap to revive us so that we could go back at it that evening.

So after we all took naps on Tuesday, we headed back to Epcot for a relaxing evening. This was one on the only nights of the trip where we didn't have any ADRs. We went on Spaceship Earth (one of our favorites) and then headed over for a trip back in time on Ellen's Energy Adventure. After that we were hungry and stopped for a bite to eat at the Electric Umbrella...not great food, but it filled us up.

After dinner we took a stroll over to the Mexico pavillion to look for a good desert...hit the Three Cabajaros (sp?) ride while we were there...twice! Kids LOVED the new ride (I'll probably always think of it as El Rio De Tiempo). Got some desert and sat watching the fountain for a while. After that we stopped in our favorite store in Disney, Mousegears (second trip in) where the kids bought some ears (DD's lit up...she was soooo excited). Then it was time to go back to the hotel to rest up for MGM the next day.

So on Wednesday off we went to MGM. My DD had been begging us to do Tower of Terror as soon as she hit 40"...mind you, she's four and a half and wigged on Haunted Mansion. I asked her about 500 times....are you SURE? Yes Mommy. Really sure? Yes Mommy.

So we get to MGM prior to the gates opening and DD and I hugged the right side of the street to get into a good position to do the TOT sprint. DH and DS stayed behind out of the fray. The rope dropped and off we went to TOT....DD was a trooper and kept up with the "walking with purpose!". We got to TOT and had about a 3 minute wait. Off we went. When the TV's came on, she was a little nervous. (unlike her grandparents) I told her it was no big deal and that they would try a little scary just to make her nervous. She was fine after that. So we get strapped in and off we go. She had my hand in a vice grip. Then we had the first drop. Let me tell you, my DD LOVED TOT. She got off and wanted to get right back on. We said no, and off we went to the Great Movie Ride.

I like the Great Movie Ride, but I always forget how long the wait is....we had to watch the previews three time. UGH! Longest wait in Disney! The kids went on the ride...DS got nervous a couple of times, but was ok (he was still spooked from Bugs Life). After that we went over to do Playhouse Disney. DS LOVED it!!! He was dancing and singing the whole time...I just watched him. Next, over to Mermaid...DS was having none of that. As soon as we sat down, he said in his little piercing voice "I wanna get OUT of here!!!"....he repeated that about 5 times and DH and I said "not worth it" so DH took him out.

After that we wandered towards the Backlot tour and got autographs and pics with JoJo, Little Einsteins and Kim Possible. Went on the Backlot tour. Made our way down the Streets of America. At that point it was almost noon. We'd planned to go back to the hotel for a nap, but the whole family was beat. We decided to push through and do Star Tours and then call it a day (go back to the hotel for a nap and then swim and go to DTD)...well, that was a mistake, sort of. We probably should have skipped Star Tours. It was blazing hot, the lunch lines were horrible and we were all tired. After I trudged a bizzilion miles for lunch and we ate...the FP for Star Tours was up so we went on Star Tours. DD went twice because we did the baby swap.

After that, we hightailed it back to the hotel, slept, went swimming in the great POFQ pool, went to dinner at Reglan Road and called it a night.

Here are some pictures of MGM and DTD...I'm also throwing in some of the pool (great pool...both kids loved the water slide)

Raglan Road is in DTD....the food was yummy, but I think it's more of an adult place than a kid kind of place. We had some scallops that were fantastic. Beautiful presentation of all the dishes. Beer was good too;)

So...I'd promised some pictures of POFQ.....so here they are.

http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/IMGP0121.jpg

Overall, my evaluation of POFQ is that it's the best of the moderates I've stayed in so far. The room we were in was nice and close to both the food court and the parking lot. The pool was just on the other side of the building and there were "cut throughs" all over the place. We were on the first floor, I don't know that I would have liked an upper floor as much. The food court was efficient and the staff very polite. Unfortunately, we'd been to Wilderness Lodge first and were totally ruined for any other hotel in the future.

:lmao: So we woke up on Thursday morning and I was all but dancing with excitement....it was the day of the big Focker meet! I was finally going to meet all my focker friends. I'd met John, but hadn't met Jenny yet. We talked so much on MSN, I felt like I'd known Jenny for a while, so it wasn't surprising that I saw her across the street standing there with her kids and husband. We gave "the focker signal" and big hugs right there on Main Street.

Off the husband, kids and I went to Fantasy land...Dumbo was already mobbed, so we skipped it. We went over and did Peter Pan, then Pooh, then DD and DH did the "Mean Lady Ride" (Snow White) while DS and I tried to pull the sword from the stone.

Rode the carousel and then headed down for the Focker meet. Saw all my Focker friends....many hand signals were exchanged...here's the whole lot of us....
http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r20/LaraKlick/file223.jpg

So some of the Fockers headed over to the Jungle Cruise. My DH is anti-social and was feeling really out of place. He also was hot. He didn't want to hang out in the beating sun with people he didn't know, so he asked to go onto the Pirates ride...which we hadn't been on since the renovation. We did and it was fantastic. Love the additions. DS LOVED the pirates.

Got off and headed over to do Jungle Cruise....saw the Focker group getting off of another boat. Got on the cruise...I must admit that I may have to stop going on this ride. I'm losing my hearing and inevitably I end up sitting near the engine...can't hear a word.

After Jungle Cruise we hit Aladdin's Carpet Ride again. By then it was mid-morning and we decided to go back for an early nap so that I could get back to the park in time to meet the PMS crew at 4. On the way back we got the front seat of the monorail...pics to follow.

We went back, grabbed lunch and took a nice nap. After nap we headed back over to MK. I left DH behind at the shops on Main Street and the kids and I took off for the PMS meet. I saw Tigger & Belle and Phorsenuf walking in front of us and gave them a "shout out". We all went over to the area outside of Pirates. Also there were 1Prince2Princesses, Snowwhitesmom, Briarmom, AimeeK and *MickeyFan*. The kids had a great time studying bugs and spraying each other with water, the grown ups had a great time getting to know one another.

After the meet (actually, we were told by a CM to break it up:lmao: ) we watched Captain Jack and the Pirate Tutorial. It is WONDERFUL!!!!!!

Attention----DO NOT MISS THE PIRATE TUTORIAL!!!!!!!

So DH comes over and joins us and catches the tail end of the tutorial. We all start wandering around MK...it was PACKED! I was upset...what happened to my empty park? We went on Small World again, ate dinner, wandered around some more, rode the train, and decided it was too crowded for us. We went back to the hotel to get a good night's sleep to be ready to get up early for our last day...started with breakfast with Cindy.

So Friday was our last day in the parks. We got up nice and early and put on our matching shirts (I know, cheesy, but I made them do it). Off we went for breakfast at the castle. We had an early ADR, so we got to the gates at about 7:45. The grumpy people were at the gates and they weren't letting ANYONE in. I thought the family next to us was going to start a brawl. They're going over saying "we have a reservation!"....ahhhh....the parks aren't open yet....everyone here has a reservation. DH and I just roll our eyes and wait for the gates to open.

Eventually they do (at about 8:05) and the stampede heads down Main Street. We join in...mooing our way down. We had to hoof it around the castle to get in. Got in and stood in line for our picture. DS decided he wanted no parts of posing with Cinderella...so we didn't make him. He changed his mind as soon as we started going upstairs, but of course then it was too late. He started tantruming as we walked upstairs. We got to the top...I'm trying to calm him down...and the CM came to our rescue...he handed DS his sword. Well, that's all it took. DS was in heaven! DD got her wand and off we went to be seated.

WE got THE PERFECT TABLE!!!!!! Right next to the window, first in our section. It was so wonderful.:goodvibes Our server came over, addressed us as "Milady" and "Milord" and I was sooooo happy, I was home. The chef came over to talk to us about what DS could/could not eat and our breakfast was served. The princesses arrived and the kids were so happy. Breakfast was yummy (although I prefered the stuffed french toast we had the last time). We ate and then headed downstairs to do the Dumbo dash for a last ride.

Here are some pictures of Cinderella's Royal Table.....

So after our fantastic breakfast we headed downstairs, loaded my son into the stroller and prepared for the Dumbo Dash. The CM holding us in the castle was a bit of a crumudgen. She wouldn't let us out....second near riot of the day. Finally, the crowd just kind of took over and pushed their way out. We ran over to Dumbo and went into the line.

Now, I try to teach my kids to follow rule. I believe in being mannerly and respectful, but I almost punched a lady in the Dumbo line. We went in and (of course) there's no line. So we snake our way in and this lady and her daughter duck under the ropes and jump up to the front. My kids go to climb under the ropes and I said (plenty loud for her to hear me) "No, we follow the rules like we are supposed to, we are not rude".:furious:

Well, at least God was watching, because when we got to the front, the CM somehow managed to "forget" to give her a ticket for the next loading of the ride...she had to wait for the next ride anyway...:lmao: I will admit to saying to her "gotta love Karma huh".:rotfl: I know...not nice.

So after the Dumbo Debacle we headed over for one last ride on Peter Pan. Then we went over to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. DD and I got in line…less than five minutes 'til we were seated in the front car. We got off and DH took her to do the ride again…that time it took about 15 minutes. After BTMR, we all went over and rode Pirates again (LOVE that ride!). Then we caught the Pirate Tutorial again…wonderful, wonderful, wonderful! We ran into Briarmom at the tutorial…her son was picked as the main audience volunteers…he was beaming!

I had both Captain Jack and the mate flirting with me…. I even got a "chin chuck" from Jack. DD joined in the final pledge with the other kids…I'll post a picture at the end of this update.

After the tutorial, we all went over and got Dole Whips. DS was starting to get cranky, so I took him to the baby station to buy a pacifier…hey; I'm not above a good baby plug to have a good day! DD watched the show while we were getting the plug. After the show, we all went back to Tomorrowland and grabbed fast passes for Buzz Lightyear. We went on the TTA again and then saw the Comedy Laugh Factory…it was cute. We caught a last ride on Buzz and then went for lunch at Cosmic Ray's. This was our commando day, so after lunch we went to catch the monorail over to Magic Kingdom.

I wish my kids would have let me plug them when they were little. They would never take one. I think it's because you are supposed to wait so long to introduce one when you're breastfeeding. By that point they think you are the pacifier and want to nurse all the time.

I'm wondering if my kids will even want to watch the pirate tutorial. Maybe after a spin on POTC?

I just found this TR today and it reminds me of the trip we took in Oct 2005. Our girls were 20 mo. and 4 1/2 then and we didn't tell them where we were going either. Our oldest was already reading and was still totally clueless. At first she thought we were going out to breakfast. Then, we got to the airport and she still thought we were flying somewhere to go out for breakfast! We landed in Orlando, saw all the Disney stuff all over the place and she still didn't get it. We rented a car and stopped for lunch on the way and she didn't realize where we were until we drove under the arches. By that point, the baby had fallen asleep in the car and didn't really care where we were, but I have a great picture of the oldest when she realized where we were going. It's priceless.

We walked over to the monorail, jumped on and headed off to Epcot. DS slept the whole way over, through the turnstyles and into Epcot. DH and I kept DS with us while my dad and stepmom took DD to see Honey I shrunk the audience....some really loud kids on a field trip put an end to DS's nap, but he got some sleep. DD loved Honey I Shrunk the Audience. We then strolled over to Figment...I forgot how wonderful that ride is...it's hidden away, so you don't always think about going on it...but it's wonderful! The kids spent a lot of time playing in the interactive area when the ride was over.

We then took the obligatory ride on The Land. It's ok...never really thrilled me too much. After that we went over to England...but that's another installment...

Coming next...How could one small child produce that much poop????

Hooray, another installment. I understand what you mean about finishing your trip report and feeling like the trip is really over. I'm thinking of doing a trip report too just to prolong the magic if nothing else. ;)

Hey Lara, I have just finished reading your whole trippy. Love the video - your DD is precious  I am so excited to be taking my 4 yo DS for his first trip to the World next year and your DD's reaction reminded me of the way he was when we told him he was finally going.

I have loved reading aobut your trip, the WL looks wonderful as does PO.

What a shame it's coming to an end - it's never nice to get to the end of your trippy, it's like the trip is REALLY over then. Plus, I'm not really looking forward to this bit
Coming next...How could one small child produce that much poop????

Aaaahh! All hail the magic powers of the Binky! :worship:

You really are touring commando-style today! (The poop question is indeed one of Life's greatest mysteries.)

So after riding on The Land...we moseyed over to Ice Station Cool...I drank the one from Italy
   :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared: :scared: :faint:

After washing my mouth out for a few minutes, we went over to meet the characters. We got there right a closing, so there was no real line...NICE! DS and Chip shared a nose picking moment (we missed the picture) and we were done.

We then strolled over to England for our dinner ADR. We were seated right at the lakeside tables. Lovely! We enjoyed our dinner, but had to watch for a mad bird part way through. (pics to follow!)

During dinner...I began to notice a particular smell...:scared: DH had been the last to change DS...he seemed to forget to tell me that there were no more diapers until I reached in the bag to pull one out.:headache: So I ran over to the gift shop in England to see if there was a diaper behind the counter. They said no and sent me to the International Gateway. Ran down there and asked and they said no...only in the Baby Care Station...on the other side of MEXICO!

So I go back to the Rose and Crown...notice that the business has continued the whole time I was gone and we needed to address it then. Scooped DS up and threw him in the stroller and off we went to Mexico. Arranged to meet the family at the fountain. Walked all the way to the Baby Care Station and, by then, had quite a mess on my hands. I bought a diaper and two packs of wipes....I think I used every wipe. How could that much poop come out of that little body????:confused3 :sad2:

Long story short, my DS got to be an exhibitionist until I could get into MouseGears to buy him a $28 pair of shorts. We said our good nights and exited the park....our dream trip ended with poop.

One last chapter to come....off to the airport and back home.

I couldn't bring myself to write a chapter about going home....it was too depressing!

Well, it's a little depressing to write this, as it is my final chapter.:sad1:

On Saturday we got up and went over to the food court for some breakfast...while DH and the kids ate, I finished packing. We returned the rental and headed off to Downtown Disney to pick up some last minute gifts and say goodbye to the Disney magic.

After Downtown Disney, we got back on the Magical Express and headed off to the airport. As we checked in, DS fell asleep....he slept all the way through security and into the departure terminal (including when I got him out of the stroller to get him through security).

DD said goodbye to Snow White and we bought a couple more little things to take back with us. At 4:00 we boarded our plane and headed back to Maryland.

We had a wonderful vacation...full of happiness and love. We can't wait to go back....next family vacation is November 2008.

I, however, am doing a solo fly-by trip this November when I'm down in Orlando for a conference:cool1:

Better for your trip to end in poop than the airport mess we had. I'm not starting my TR until I'm caught up with every thread that I actively participated in! ;)
