Okay bear with me here, I have been reading all your planning journals for the last 2 months and have decided to do one myself.
How we met
My DF (Tony) and me (Sharon) have been working together for the last 11 years but only started getting really friendly about 7 years ago. We started going out as friends in a group at first but eventually that group just turned into the 2 of us  (do you think someone was trying to tell us something). We eventually decided we wanted to be with each other but I am telling you, that first kiss when you have been close friends with each other all that time is pretty weird lol, I couldn't kiss him for laughing, needless to say we got over that stage pretty quickly :woohoo:. Tony moved in with me about 8 months later and the rest is history as they say.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/102_2752.jpg
The Proposal
We were in Orlando in October 2006 for our annual trip and what I didn't know at the time was that Tony was planning on proposing to me. On 6th October which was also my birthday we spent the day in Magic Kingdom, having a character breakfast at the Crystal Palace which was really fantastic. After a long day at the park we went back to our hotel room to get showered and changed to go out for my birthday dinner. I am standing in front of the mirror putting on my make-up when I turned around and there is DF down on one knee. Before he could even get any words out I was crying  . Needless to say I said yes lol. I found out later that he had been planning on proposing in front of the castle but it was very busy that day and he chickened out lol.
The Date
We are getting married in the Wedding Pavilion on 18th December 2007 at 2.30pm. It is going to be a very small wedding as there is no way my Mom will fly that far although I am still trying to talk her around. Attending with be my Bridesmaid (Rhonda), Best Man (Paul), Flower Girl (Amber, also Rhonda's Niece), Ring Bearer (Zak, Rhonda's Nephew), watchers lol! are Michelle and Derek (Amber and Zaks Mom and Dad). We are having a small reception at the Commanders Terrace at the Grand Floridian and then onto O'Hana for Dinner. We have decided to go with Randy Chapman for our photography and use our Disney Photographer for another time during the trip.
My Dress
As every other girl in the planet knows I always had an idea in my head of what my dress was going to look like. The minute I tried on this dress I knew it was 'the one', nothing else compared.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/img0large.jpg
And this is what I look like in it, no-where near like the previous piccie but I am working on it.

Bridesmaid
After making Rhonda try on about a million dresses :rolleyes1 we decided on this one.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/fys76214.jpg
Flowergirl
I thought this dress was very sweet as Amber is only 7 years old and will look like a little princess is this. Ignore the head piece as it came free with the dress ;)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/047a_1.jpg
DF's Tartan
I have bought DF the whole kit and kaboodle when it comes to his outfit. He will be wearing the MacThomas tartan which is his own clan tartan and goes with the bridesmaid really nice, best man will be wearing this also. I don't have a picture of the actual kilt but here is the tartan.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/tar_macthomas_mod.jpg
Tiara
As soon as I saw this tiara I knew it was mine. It was another Ebay bargain, don't you just love Ebay ;)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/tiara.jpg
Shoes
Now if you haven't already guessed you will know by now how much I love my bling and also how much I NEEDED these shoes when I saw them.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/48814ba6-d623-4a29-86d0-9cfe58f137a.jpg
Hair
I am still trying to decided whether I want an updo and long and flowing, here is what I am going with so far.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/Val207.jpg
Flowers
For my Flower girl I am going with the Floral Wand and I am still undecided what I would like my Bridesmaid to have but here is what I have decided for me. I am unsure on what colour to go for on the flowers but I do know that I would like some of the hidden crystal mickeys in there.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/DSC_8702.jpg
Jewellery
Another Ebay bargain here and I think it goes with my tiara perfectly.

Well that's it for now folks, your feedback would be excellent as I am trying to plan all of this myself and to be honest with you it is a bit stressful. :grouphug:

Ooh forgot to add that I have booked Rev. Jack Day to marry us as I just thought he has the mostly kindly looking face I have ever seen.
Also I have booked Beaute Speciale to do all our hair and make-up. I like the fact that they use Mac as I have the most sensitive skin and I am allergic to most types of make-up which can be a real pain at times.

Everything you have chosen is beautiful! I too am an Ebay shopper and I have been looking at flower girl dresses for my daughter for our VR. The dress you have picked is my favorite, although I want it to be in fuschia and white if that's available. I suppose I'm getting a little ahead of myself though, as our VR won't be until April 2009 at least! Looking forward to hearing more about your wedding! :surfweb:

I think there was a few sellers that did them in duo colours and they were very pretty. I just love Ebay, there are just so many bargains to be had.
Tomorrow I am going into Country Baskets to have a look and see what they have in the way of making up my favours. Hopefully I will post tomorrow and see if there is anything I like. I am thinking something along the lines of the little steel buckets, they are way cute. :cutie:

Thanks so much Christina, thats nice to hear as I was pretty worried about buying a dress as I don't like trying on clothes. I always feel a bit self consience what with being a 'big' girl, but I have to say I feel like a true princess in it.

Sharon, your gown is stunning!! and with the tiara and jewels in place, you'll be the picture perfect princess! and I absolutely agree with you - eBay is the best!! I have bought SO many of my wedding odds and ends ( including my gown :goodvibes on eBay) now that tax season is over and I'm getting married in 6 months (eek)! I feel the urge to put up my planning journal....

Maybe she has tried to call and you were out Diane, that was what happened to us today, she tried home and work but because of the time difference we were off doing other things. Has she emailed you your wedding planning kit? There are so many decisions to make.

Yeah, maybe she tried to call and I didn't recognize the number, but I'd think she would leave a message?? :confused3 Brianna (sales) told me that Juliana would email me my kit last Friday but she didn't...my wishbook has become unlocked though. Maybe I will email her myself today.
*Edited to add that I just emailed Juliana and got an automated response stating that she just got back from vacation and was trying to catch up with everything as quickly as possible. I guess that explains it...hope it won't be much longer now!!

I have to say though I really wish I was enjoying the planning more though, I feel a little stressed out about the whole thing. Its maybe cause we are getting a new kitchen fitted right now and are also in the process of planning a loft conversion. I am also doing all the planning myself and feel as if I am getting no support from anyone, DF is just like 'well if you like it then get it' and although that sometimes good to hear :thumbsup2 I would still rather have someone helping me.

We have Juliana too. They are really swamped this time of year, but she will get back with you. I personally perfer the emails back and forth as it gives me something to refer back to. There have been times Juliana has tried to call me even at 8:30 at night (which would be 9:30 for her), so I know she puts in tons of hours ! I even told her email were fine rather than the phone tags and she will still try to confirm by phone. Hang in there, she has been awesome for us, just really busy !

Thanks...She has emailed me a few times now and has been very helpful. She said she was going to call last week but by 6pm on Friday I still hadn't heard from her and figured she just got busy. Wouldn't you know that just as I got into the shower that night she gave me a ring! I missed her call but her voice mail was nice and she sounded very firendly. I had never posted a picture of my e-ring so here it is, I am afraid it isn't a very good picture. It is definitely more blingy in real life, it looks a bit black here.

Just had an extremely long phone call with Rosie from Disney Floral, I just can't stress how lovely and helpful she is. Anyway, we decided we are going with the bedimeier style bouquet for my with dark and light lavender roses, cream roses, with stephanotis and mickey crystals. It should look a little like this.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/Poohface/BQG112m.jpg
For my Bridesmaid, she is doing just a rose bouquet with dark and light lavender flowers. My flowergirl is getting a basket with lavender with white rose petals and on the front of the basket there will be a small light lavender rose with crystal mickeys all around.
I have asked Rosie about whether I would be able to get heather for DF boutinniere (sp?) and she is going to look into that for me. Its a tradition in Scotland for the Groom to wear heather especially when he is wearing a kilt.
Seeing as there is only going to be 8 of us at the wedding I didn't want to go overboard with having flowers in the WP so I have just opted for the first pew to be done and the alter.
I have also arranged to have our honeymoon shoot done in MK on the 19th December at 10am, I am so excited about that.
As a surprise for DF I have organised a basket to be delivered on our wedding day full of Stitch and Star Wars related stuff, oh and also loads of those yummy rice krispie treats that you guys do over there, DF loves them so much.
Think I need to go and have a glass of wine to calm myself down now, I am a bit hyper after that phone call, the excitement got too much for me :rotfl:

Thought it was about time I updated this seeing as I have not done it since June:rolleyes1. I went for my first hair trial yesterday and although I was mostly happy with it I did not like it from the front, it had no appeal whatsoever. I certainly think it needs to lot more height so that you can see it from the front. What do you guys think?

I also went for my first dress fitting a couple of weeks ago and it turned out very well. I am having my next one tomorrow and I will take my camera with me so I can post some pics. I also ordered my veil, it is full length with AB crystals through it, I have to say myself, it is stunning.
All my invites are now out and we are just waiting on replies, this is for my at home reception as there will only be 8 of us at the ceremony.
My hen night (batchelorette party to you guys lol) is all planned for the 10th November and to be honest with you I am getting a little nervous as I haven't a clue what is going on. My bridesmaid has planned it all and there is about 40 girls coming so it should be pretty wild but she has been warned, NO STRIPPERS lol! I would be mortified!:scared:
Hopefully more updates tomorrow after my next fitting.:thumbsup2

DIANE, where ya been girlfriend, we've missed you around here.
Yup that's the general consensus, that's why we have trials after all. Mind at $60 a pop for a trial I think it will be the last one, she only took about 35 minutes as well. I have more important things to spend my money.

We don't half get ripped off over here that's for sure. I had another trial planned for end of October but I am going to cancel it.
Only 2 1/2 to go now. You mostly had a lot sorted anyway didn't you? I keep worrying that there is something I am forgetting.
I have my next dress fitting tomorrow, hopefully this will be my last one, it just needing taken in at the bust and a bit off the length. I will try and post some pics tomorrow.
How is your dress coming along?
luv4mylittleones
09-24-2007, 05:41 PM
Yes, well, I did have quite a lot done but I've really got to put it all together now. I mostly stressed about all the little things and of course about the fact that I STILL haven't got my dress. I'm fearful that when it finally comes I won't like or it won't fit and I won't have time to have it altered. I ordered the dress in April...it's just plain ridiculous now! I can't wait to see pics of you in your dress...it looks so beautiful!
poohface
09-24-2007, 05:49 PM
Your dress still hasn't arrived!! That is ridiculous. Have you called them to find out where it is? We ordered ours at the same time, saying that though mine has only been in for about a month.
Yeah I look like a beached whale lol but I still feel like a princess. Its amazing what layers of tulle can cover lol. The only thing I am really self conscious about is my arms and I did get a wrap with the dress but its way too much with my veil as well so I will just need to deal with it.:rolleyes1
luv4mylittleones
09-24-2007, 06:02 PM
HAHA...you are so funny! I'm sure you look like a princess as well! You are truly a beautiful woman! I know what you mean about the arms...I'm very self conscious about my arms as well. I look like I have wings and will take flight any moment! I'm very concerned about how I'm going to look in the strapless gown I picked out. I may purchase a wrap as well...it's December and will be chilly anyway. I wonder where I can get an inexpensive one? And yes...I called and asked where my gown was. They weren't responding to my calls or emails and I finally had to threaten them with a reporting them to the BBB. I was told over a month ago that my gown was done and that they were waiting for it from the manufacturer. As of yesterday, they still claim that they haven't received it....GRRRR!
poohface
09-24-2007, 06:36 PM
Are you kidding...my arms are about 50 times the size of yours lol. Mind you, we all have our quirks and things we are not happy with. Are you good with a sewing machine? Why don't you try and make your own. Its only a long piece of fabric with maybe a little detail on it. You will look stunning in a strapless gown. If I can pull it off then you certainly can:goodvibes.
I would definitely keep on badgering them every day about your dress though, the way you are being treated is terrible.

anyhow, can't wait to see pics of you in your gown - and hopefully Diane's comes in soon also!

Thanks Michelle :goodvibes, I loved it too.
It is coming in really fast and yours will be next, you must be getting really excited now. You need to post some pics when you make your final fitting.
Mine went well today and I will post some pics, it looks gorgeous from the back. I am not so sure about the front but then that is me being my usual self conscious self, I hate looking at me but hopefully all that will go out the window on the day. Here's some pics in the meantime, my bust is HUGE looking all hoisted up lol!

I don't get my veil for about another 4 weeks, probably just pick that up the same time as my dress. I have to go in and get it on 27th October. I don't think my dress will be going back on until the wedding now though, oh its just all so exciting.:cool1:

Thank you, I loved the beading on it as well and what you can't see is there is tiny AB crystals as well, its very sparkly.

Thanks Diane  just what I was aiming for. Although I have to say I am still pretty much self conscious because of my weight, I am actually dreading having my pictures taken but I am hoping that will all go on the day and I will forget about it.

You don't have to take my word for it but you look absolutely gorgeous...and you won't think twice about those cameras...I know how you feel though...I hate getting my picture taken, I always have but I know on that day I will be basking in marital bliss and too wrapped up in the excitement of being a bride that the photos won't bother me...I'm sure that's how it will be for you too. psssttt....were getting married in less than three months....woohooo!!!!! :goodvibes

This is me at the beginning of the night before they filled me with loads of alcohol lol.

It's funny you ask because last night Joe and I showed up at a local steakhouse for what we thought was dinner with his parents but turned out to be a surprise party for us. We were truly caught off gaurd and it was really lovely. That will be the extent of partying though. We haven't lived here that long and most of our friends are in Florida. His sister is my MOH and she shows no interest in doing anything a MOH ought to do. Sigh...no party for me. I guess it's alright though, we really did have a nice time last night and I was quite touched that some of his family flew in just for the occasion. I don't have any pics yet (I didn't bring my camera since it was a surprise)....but as soon as someone sends me some, I'll post them.
