Asking for Prayers

My former Father-in-Law, grandfather of my daughter, PrincessMajelBug, died in a horrific car accident Friday morning. He was leaving church, where a memorial Mass had just completed for his youngest son who died 25 years ago today, how's that for ironic?

Anyway, my daughter is going to have a rough few days dealing with this. It's compounded by the fact that my first husband, her biological father, has nothing to do with her. So, she has to deal with the sadness of losing her grandfather, and deal with a man who has rejected her. Kind of a lot for a 10-year old to handle.

He was also my godfather. My former sisters-in-law (four of them) asked me to make a DVD of his life from pictures and music, so I will be sitting at my computer, crying for the next two days.

Extra prayers and pixie dust would be appreciated for us.

Dara I will definitely pray for your Princess, and even her dad that he might see the importance of family and what he's been missing out on. It's wonderful that you can remain close to his family even if he's out of the picture and that they can rely on you for such a touching momento. :hug:

Thanks, all, for the kind words and prayers. The viewing was this evening. Another viewing at the church tomorrow morning, followed by Mass and burial.

The DVD is a big hit. I started working on it around 7:0 pm Sunday and finihsed it around 2:00 this afternoon. I am burning copies as I type this, and struggling to stay awake. I am exhausted.

Thanks again, everyone, for your kind words, thoughts, prayers and pixie dust, both here and in game. PrincessMajelBug and I are very tired. I fell asleep while making the DVDs I referenced earlier, with mouse in hand. Sclim said he almost took a picture, but didn't have the heart to make fun of me.

It was all very difficult. He was a wonderful man, would have turned 86 on the 24th of this month. Had six kids (buried one), buried his wife, two brothers and one sister. Two sisters are still here. Friends and family were non-stop all five days.

PrincessMajelBug's biological father announced to me that "the events of the past few days have put things into sharper focus. I would like to start seeing her, low-key to start." These are the words that I've dreaded. Sclim is the man she's known as Daddy for the past seven years. I'm afraid this will so confuse her, and hurt him, too.

So, what I'm getting at is, please continue to pray for her. He's not one to keep his promises, so I'm not saying anything to her. But if he does decide to start seeing her, she's going to be one confused little girl.
