I searched for this, but the threads were kind of old, so I thought I would ask in case anthing had changed.

Where can the mugs be filled? I read that one of the locations does not have soda. Is that correct? (I can't imagine us drinking hot chocolate or coffee in FL in August:) )

Most importantly, if we are staying in the cabins, is it too long of a trip to fill them to be worthwhile? Would we be better off keeping cans of soda in the fridge? Can I even get cans (or 2L bottles) at the trading post?

Thanks for the info.

I'm not really answering your question but we just returned from the fort and I had money put back for us all to get mugs, but when I seen how they really weren't that big (think travel mug with a lid ) and to have to go all the way over to trails end to fill them up, ya not worth it to me, we went to walmart and stocked up on sodas and called it a day, just to much trouble to me, if your going to the parks, you come back tired, do you really feel like running down to fill up a large glass of soda ? Remember everything isn't within walking distance. Whenever I seen these famous mugs people fight about because people illegally refill them I laughed.

The mugs are still there. Hot drinks are at Medows Trading Post, cold soda is only at the pool during certain times of the day, but always served at the Trails End. I think the mug was a PITA because you had to go so far to fill it. My dh wouldn't let me rent a cart and we were in the 1500 loop.
