We're still pinching ourselves because our financing has been approved and we're DVCers!
You gotta understand that from our first visit to what was then the Disney Vacation Club in 1993, until our almost purchase back in April, to Dec. 24 when we Fedexed our paperwork ... this has been a dream for me. We lived in the central FL area for about seven years, in Vero Beach and New Smyrna Beach, went to Disney just about every weekend, but even prior to that was an unrepentant Disney fiend.
And now, to have this security for the next 40 or so years. Man alive.
Despite all the perceived uncertainty, of no early entry, of cutbacks, etc., doggone it, I'm just not gonna let what may ultimately be a downward temporary blip rob me of this extraordinary treat.
Bought at VWL (love it!), but snagged a 2BR at OKW in July for our first trip home. Planning, Lord willing, on Christmas at VWL with my 83 year old mother who just beat cancer, my DW, my blonde cheerleader DD, and -- just maybe -- DS, who is a brand spanking new Marine, and if he's not in Afghanistan or Iraq or somewhere like that, by golly, we'll throw him in the mix too.
Folks, this is the stuff of dreams, of memories, of family, of what is really important. If anyone reading is on the verge of buying, go ahead and pull the trigger. It was one of the easiest things we've ever done; Disney financing was a snap, and precious Megan Moriarity is the best guide that ever was.
If I could, I'd hug every stinkin' one of ya.
