I know it's so crazy. I wonder if there IS any life there. Imagine like parallel humans!

Me and my friends were joking about it this morning. We were saying it's probably called Htrae (silent H or something), our twins are on the planet, and they're more technologically advanced than us so they're going to come to Earth.

And my best friend is going to annoy her boyfriend with the help of her twin.

Oh my gawd. :sad3:

It doesn't really matter to me.

Why can't humans just stay on Earth.

Could you even imagine life on another planet? The people could be totally different looking, and still might be in the stage similar to ours with cro-magnuns or w/e. Or they could have even more technology than us. Idk. It's weird.

I highly doubt there are other life forms on this planet.

Well maybe that wont be true but its like in a whole other solar system.
We would be dead by the time we reached there.

Why do people always think of little green men when they think of "life on other planets"?

Are people aware that life could be slime mold or some microscopic bacteria?:confused3

Also, we wouldn't be dead by the time we reach that planet...if we can move at almost the speed of light, which is possible.

Also, humans going to other planets is nessesary to our survival in the long long run.

When I think of life on other planets, I generally think of things like Buzz Lightyear, and descriptions of aliens from novels. I guess that we think this way because it's simply how some of us were taught.

It just bothers me. It's like, people are under the assumption that the ONLY life that could be called life would be the humanistic version of it. Nobody ever mentions stuff like bacteria and whatnot, and that's actually what NASA is looking for. They'd be thrilled with Slime Mold.:confused3

I don't think of "little green men."

So I guess people don't always think that.

It sounds immature, but I actually think that it would be cool to see green humanoids or something similar...Slime Mold may be out there, what else could there be?

So I people don't always think that.

When did I ever use you as a comparison to the rest of the world?

And I know people don't always think that. Hell I myself don't think like that, so I don't know where your coming from with that.:confused3

I'm actually scared of finding little green men. I don't want to have a planetary war. Lol.

Well, when you asked, "Why do people always..." I assumed you meant all people always think that.

And the fact that I don't necessarily think that means that not all people always think of little green things.

Sorry for misinterpreting it.

I highly doubt there are other life forms on this planet.

Not only are they looking for lifeforms, but they're looking to see if the planet is liveable. Now, why should we shuttle the human race off to another planet?

Survival.

Of course they would be. Green's a happy color...but only if they're bright green.
If they're forest green, we're just going to have to kill them.

Because. We're all going to eventually die.

And honestly, I don't think it would make much of a difference anyway.

It can be our vacation spot.

Hm, Disney can buy the planet and call it DisneyPlanet. I'd go.

Hi everyone.

I am pretty new, but I just wanted to toss my opinion out there on this.

I think that humans need to branch out to survive. Well, not only to survive, but to learn. As someone said, so many things wouldn't be here if we had just left well enough alone.

I think its great that we are studying this new planet. I, for one, am really looking forward to learning more about it.

Because. We're all going to eventually die.

And honestly, I don't think it would make much of a difference anyway.

But the human race as a whole will continue on.

We NEED to branch out if we want to continue as a race and avoide extinction. If we all stay on earth, we're putting all of our eggs in one basket. If something, like say, a huge asteroid comes around and smashes into us, and destroies all life on this planet, well, we're screwed. However, if we have colonies on the moon and on Mars and on other planet's moons and on other planets not of this solar system, we continue on as a race.
