I have read some reviews here and tripadvisor and it sounds nice. My question is why then would RCI give no crowns? It sounds like a gold crown.:)

Cypress Harbour has very limited exchange availability through RCI. Despite that RCI had awarded the resort with GC status. I'm surprised that it no longer have that status, but it may be because of the lack of availability. CH has five status through Interval International through which most, if not all, owners trade their weeks. Cypress Harbour is an outstanding resort.

when Marriott switched from RCI to II - RCI downgraded them.

especially since Marriott refuses RCI to allow to use the Marriott name.

that is why Cypress Harbour is not Marriott's Cypress Harbour.

another words - politics.

Marriott does not bank with RCI - but some of their older owners still do.

Marriott's Cypress Harbour is an outstanding resort. It's completely on par with DVC. It's definitely one of the best in Orlando in my opinion.

Like the others have said, I don't think RCI has much Cypress Harbour inventory. II has the bulk of it.

I actually stayed there in '04 during the Tropical Storm Bonnie & Hurricane Charley mess. They were extremely accommodating given the circumstances. They even delivered Pizza Hut to our room even though the parking lot was flooded. We stayed in one of the older buildings, and besides the room looking a little dated, it was clean and very comfortable. The property is gorgeous as well. I have never stayed at a Marriott resort that was disappointing.
