View Full Version : Just curious...what are your goals?

I thought it might be fun to see when your next disney trip is and what your goal is to earn on reward sites before then. We can find out just how hardcore we all really are! :rotfl:

My next trip is still a while off. January '09 is my goal and I hope (gulp) to make $1000 before I go on various reward sites. I want to go to a deluxe resort (can't help it, I like to be spoiled) and this should cover the difference from a moderate to the Wilderness Lodge and a some extra fun money.

:cheer2:

I want to make $350 more before our trip in October...so hopefully that will be realistic. Then I will hopefully be able to keep doing them and save for the next trip. They certainly do get addicting!! I just don't like the hassles with charges on your card, cancellations and whatnot, but I guess it is worth it!

I didn't start out with a goal. However, more recently as my reward activities have increased, I set a goal of paying for my entire Sept trip (other than airfare) with rewards. So far this year I have earned over $1,100 with rewards :cool1: I should say that in that number I am including my Disney Visa rewards but not my mystery shopping (which has equalled another $400)

I have reached my goal and even have some left over for our trip in 2 weeks!!!

Wow!! I was excited to get 2-$25 gift cards. I can't imagine making enough to actually pay for a trip. How do you get that much? I don't do alot of shopping and the trials scare me. I worry that I will forget to cancel and end up with a ton of debits going through my checking account. I stick with the paid clicks and the surveys (when I can qualify for 1!) and that doesn't add up to fast. But it is "free money" so I won't complain.

My goal is to pay for 2 dining plans for our trip next Sept/Fall (2008) in the event that they don't do free dining next year. I figure if I take out the dining plan from the cost then we could stay a few days longer :)

I started out doing it for extra money for souvies and such. But half way through, I had to cancel my trip. At that point I already had quite a bit in Disney G.C's so....I decided to go ahead and make my goal, our DL Annual passes. We live about 45 min. away, and this was my 1st year in the past 4 yrs without em. I had to give them up as part of being a new stay at home mom. SO HE THOUGHT! :lmao: DH hates DL. :rotfl2: Well...I originally wanted to earn til Sept. for my DD's 3rd b-day. But I've already met my goal! :woohoo: :yay: So....Now Im gonna start earning for date nights for me and DH. I always wanted to try cheesecake factory. LOL

My goal since Janurary was to earn $300 for extras for our next trip. Before Christmas I earned over $330 that I used for presents. We leave for Disney on May 27 and I will have:
$400 in Disney Gift cards and Disney Visa Rewards
$150 in resturant gift cards
$50 in target cards for groceries
I did purchase some of the Disney gift cards with my Disney Visa rewards when you got 10% back on the purchase and they are in the total.
So I will be flying out with $600 in almost free money in my pocket.
Right now I have sort of backed off on offers, because I had gone over my orginal goal of $300 from reward programs. But today I started to get the itch, and did some shopping for things for the trip. I give myself until Saturday and I may be back in the saddle.
Not sure about my next goal. But when we get home from Disney in June I may start saving for the next trip.

Well, our next Disney trip is 2-1/2 weeks away, and I earned several hundred dollars through rewards sites, surveys and rebates. :thumbsup2

Since we aren't planning another trip for (sob!) several years (ds is entering private high school and tuition is now our priority), I'm switching gears to saving the rewards I earn to pay for Christmas this year. :)

I just decided we are going on a 7-day Eastern in January of 2009. My goal is to have $1600 between SR and my Disney Visa to pay for our entire on-board account, and not have to scrimp. I want to do excursions at each port, cover tips, drinks of the day, maybe a spa treatment, and a couple hundred bucks for spending money.

I just mapped out a savings strategy for the cruise itself and cash items ($80 a paycheck plus birthday $, ebay proceeds, rebates, etc.). And put down on paper how much I would earn though Visa and SR each month/quarter. I also plan to earn hotel certificates for a pre-night at Residence Inn (Marriott gift cards) through MyPoints.

Great thread... I'm looking forward to everyone else's goals!

My goal is to earn enough to pay for our plane tickets (3).
My estimate is $650.
So far I have earned appx $275.00! I have been keeping up with it on my blog to keep my motivated. Dh can't believe the $$ I have earned! :woohoo:
We have 7 months till our trip, but Southwest will put the tickets on sale in June, so I will buy them as soon as they go on sale, if they are within my budget.
If I meet that goal, then I may start earning my way towards upgrading to Annual Passes, then convince dh that we will be going to WDW again within the year. :rotfl2: If I can earn enough to pay our a portion of our way, then how can he say no? <evil grin!>

My goal originally was to just earn my kids spending money lol

But now (doing the happy dance) I will have over $400 in Disney Gift Cards, 2-$25 restaurant gift cards (which we will use on the trip down since we are driving) and I was able to get my daughter 2-delias gift cards!

I started all this on March 30th...not bad for less than a month's work!!

After we get back, I plan on diving right back in either for our 'tentative' October trip or Christmas!

Who has Cheesecake Factory Gift Cards?? My hubby loves that place! The Spicy Ahi Tempura Rolls ROCK!!

:sad1: I don't do QR - I mighthave to try it again just for the Cheesecake Factory giftcards!!

QP had Delias - I don't do QP much - I did almost all of the free signups and surveys when I first signed up and since then I just do the daily surveys (most of the time). I don't put 5-10 minutes a day into QP...but 2 $10 gift cards will make my daughter happy :)

When I get back form FL, I won't have to put as much time into it as I did this go around (with only 2 months to work with)...I'll be able to take my time a bit with it, and take a break from it when I need one you know? I plan on just focusing on SR, CD, I might give QR another shot, and I am signed up with 3 survey sites. I think that will keep me busy enough!

My goal was to meet the $400 difference between the Dolphin and WL-I'm reaching that goal soon. After that, everything goes to extra meals, MVMCP tickets, and any other extras.

Are you already signed up on the new Qr? Because if not, he mentioned on his blog, that he's running a cool special for the new sign ups.

New potential members:
A lot of members were waiting for QR to go back to normal before joining it. If you join QR tomorrow 4/26 and complete 1 daily survey any time between 4/26-4/30 I will add $5 to your account! ***Must be a brand new QR member that never used QR before.

To get the $5 bonus you must join on 4/26, confirm your account (email us if you don’t receive the confirmation code), email support@quickrewards.net with the subject line “NEW MEMBER $5 PROMO” and complete (must qualify) the daily survey anytime from 4/26-4/30.

Well we are going in December for 6 nights and 5 days and will be staying at the POP with dining plan. I am looking to get $2000 to pay for the complete cost of the trip, one airline ticket (I have a voucher for a free one) and some souvenirs for me (I know my boyfriend won't want to buy anything he never does) but I am going to hit the scrapbooking supplies like crazy and shop around the world at epcot. That should pretty much cover everything unless I do some extra shopping :rotfl:. I have been slacking on the paid offers though so I need to start picking that up if I want to meet my goal!

WOW...$2k...that is a LOT of money...but I am sure it is very attainable if you do the paid offers.

Yes I know but I'm already 30% there so I think it can be done. I have only been saving since early February since our last trip was in January. It's going to be close though I'm sure.

Oh I am sure you can do it...I know I would LOVE to be able to do that too...every penny saved on the trip means more trips!! And who doesn't want that.

Veterans-how often are new things added? I just am looking and I have signed up for most of them that make sense financially...and I just worry that I won't find more to keep it up. Thoughts?

Wow!!! How do you guys get sooo much? Does everybody do alot of on-line shopping? I can't imagine earning $2000. I've been doing this for a while now and I've made maybe $80. What reward sites are you signed up for?
Good luck to everybody and there big goals.:thumbsup2

It takes time and record keeping. But I do the things that you sign up for and then cancel. You might pay $5.95 and then make $13. But that is how I have racked it up.

I used to feel good if I could get $50 for dinner one night at disney... This board has opened my eyes to the possibilities. We aren't going until December, but I'm very cautious. I have a small prepaid card, so can only do a few offers that cost... and I don't shop much online... so I'm counting on all the free offers. I'm shooting for Super Member at SR this quarter, and keeping my eyes out for good deals on cashouts.

My goal is to pay for the cabins (we love staying at the cabins... love having our own kitchen), all our food, tickets, and hopefully a nice extra for my girls (horse riding maybe)

Thanks for giving me the courage to try for more offers,
Faithhope

We aren't going back until next June. :headache:

So, I've got some time. I would like to get $1000.00 in Disney GC, $75.00 in Cracker Barrel GC (for the road trip), $200.00 in Fuel GC (maybe more as I watch the gas rates :sad2: ) and I wouldn't mind having gc for the hotel stays on the way down and back.

So far, I have: $205.00 in DIsney GC, $25.00 in Cracker Barrel GC and $25.00 in Fuel Cards.

I also have 2 $25.00 Rainforest Cafe gcs but we will pribably use them this summer. And, I might use some of the fuel cards for our trip to the Dells.

I'va also cashed out for $140.00 in cash at fusioncash and will be cashing out for another $81.00 this month.

Well... DH just told me that he'd MUCH rather get a verandah than the inside category 11 I had planned my savings strategy around for our January of 2009 Disney cruise, so I've adjusted goals a bit. Counting the cruise (based on '08 pricing), projected air and other expenses, and onboard account I need $8659 before it's all said and done in the next 20 months or so. $4500 will come from savings out of each paycheck and a little overtime; $500 will come from rebates, gifts, and $ "found"; I should be able to earn $2200 from surveys and rewards (including Disney visa rewards dollars); and $1700 will come from ebay profits and my Arbonne sales. Whew! I don't dare miss a daily survey or another good rewards opportunity!

My goal between now and December of this year is to earn another $400 on Sunshine Rewards. That will give me enough to buy either my DL park tix for DH and I + a couple meals, or all our meals for our trip in January.

And then between next January and May, I want to earn $500 for a June 2008 trip for my kids and I (DH sitting this one out) to WDW. I want to earn enough for most of our meals for the week, which would be about $500. Any extra money I earn this year over the $400 mark will go for my 2008 trip. I've already earned $91 this month, so I don't think it will be hard. :cool1:

With mypoints, I usually just do enough to earn sporatic Bath and Body Works gift cards, or sometimes Target. Just fun money now and then, but I don't do it hardcore like SR.
