I was wondering. How many miles should I be putting in to get ready for the Goofy. I am not out to set any personal record. Any thoughts here.

You'll probably get responses all over the spectrum of miles here. It really depends on your endurance/fitness base and how much your body can handle without breaking down.

I guess I should say I really don't have a good answer, I ended up with a peak week of around 47 miles, but I think this was on the high side of what most people did. A lot of folks did this race with a lot less miles and they also succeeded. I was just really concerned about getting in the adequate back to back runs, so I peaked with a weekend of 11 miles followed by 22 miles the next day. Probably didn't need to go that far, but I did feel pretty good through both the half and the full on race day, so I guess it worked to an extent.

Hope this helps, and I'm sure you'll also get great advice from others who have completed Goofy. Good luck training!

I peaked at a bit over 30 but I was only running 3 days a week and rather than back to back LRs, I did 3-4 hr bike rides on Saturday and then LR on Sunday. This is a standard training pattern for me though as I'm primarily a triathlete who does a little running on the side. 3(including my first ever) of my 6 marathons to date plus my next 2 have been or will be preceded by a little 2.4 mi swim/112 mi bike warm up:rolleyes1 Not sure what I'll do for Goofy training this year as it will depend on how long triathlon season extends and whether I decide to run the 50 M at Sunmart in early December. One will depend on whether I qualify for 70.3 Worlds and the other will depend on how my IM marathons go as the 50 M has a 12 hour time limit.
