Here it is .... our first official day for those of us wanting to party at Pop in September ( others are welcome to join as well but the majority of us are staying at Pop for free dining.) We all need to lose weight before we get there so we can let loose a little !
There will be a chart kept of everyone's weights that will be participating in this challenge. You will need to PM your starting weight. Our first official weigh in day is Monday April 23, 2007. We will then be weighing in every Friday until August 31st which will be the last weigh in day.

~~ You MUST weigh in at least twice a month to compete in the official competition portion ~~

Each Friday morning when you weigh in please send your weight to me via PM. We all know that there will be off weeks but please still weigh in - we are all here for accountability and are in the same boat. We know that binges and bad weeks happen :thumbsup2

You DO NOT need to compete to be part of this thread and get support from anyone - everyone is welcome here and can join at anytime !
The winner will be determined by the percentage of body fat lost during the course of the competition.
I also encourage you to join the WISH boards exercise challenge thread. You set the number of minutes you are wanting to exercise that month and work your hardest to meet that goal.
So ........ let's get started !! I can hardly wait to be the biggest loser !!

PM me

Your DIS Board Name
Your Real Name
Your Starting Weight
Your Goal you would like to lose before the trip !

What do you Mean you "Only" Lost 1 Pound ?
Hello, do you know me? :confused3
If you don't you should. I'm a pound of fat, and I'm the happiest pound of fat that you would ever want to meet. :woohoo:
Want to know why? :confused3
It's because no one ever wants to lose me; :cool1: I'm Only One Pound, just a pound. Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds or fifteen pounds, but never only one, so I just stick around and happily keep you fat. :thumbsup2
Then I add to myself ever so slyly so that you never seem to notice it, that is until I've grown to ten, twenty or even more pounds in weight  . Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat , left to do as I please.
So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying "Oh, I only lost one pound." ( as if that were such a terrible thing!)
For you see, if you do this you'll encourage others to keep me around because they will think I'm not worth losing. :rolleyes1
And I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!! After all, I'm Only One Pound of fat!!! :cool1:

Open for ideas just let me know what everyone decides !

so what happens if the person only has 30 pounds to lose????? So as soon as this person loses all their weight they win???

Msslaydbug

OK -
I guess it is only fair to go by percentage of weight lost ! That way even those that only lose a few pounds still have a chance ! Right ?

Good morning!! I'm totally ready to do this! I almost had a breakdown this morning though. I went to Idaho for my grandma's birthday this weekend. I avoided snacks, cake, ice cream...basically anything bad for me. This morning I stepped on the scale thinking I lost a couple pounds. NOPE! I was 2.5 pounds heavier! What the heck????? I couldn't believe it. I almost started crying & called in to work sick because I was so upset about it. What a way to start my week...

Hope you all had a great weekend!

PS: I think % lost is the best way to do this as well.

I am fine with whoever does it. And I think Lori taking herself out of the money contest makes things fair too!

All I know, is this is a GREAT thing for us to do. POP will be amazed by how many hotties they have running around!

Like I told Lori- this way, I can work towards the big cash-out in the end ;) After all- I WANT MY SOFT SERVE from Animal Kingdom!!! LOL!

Now what was I going to say? Oh, yeah...

Here's a motivational thing I'm doing. I 'aquired' some blue and head Mickey Heads from HD- and I'm going to tape them to my wall for the pounds I want to lose. So like, I want to lose 40 pounds- so I'll do four groups of ten, taped up so I can see them while I work out. Then as I lose the weight, I'm tossing the heads ;) ;) ;) It will just give me a visual that I can see working out and on my way to the kitchen ;)

That is a great idea! Everyone on here is so creative & gives me soooo many good ideas :)

Okay, so can I just say that the people I work with frustrate me!!! I just walked into the back office area & there were 3 boxes of Krispy Kreams! 3 boxes...OMG! Luckily I have the willpower & I turned around & walked away. Walked back to my desk and opened my yogurt for breakfast. :) After my breakdown this morning I am going to stay far, far away from anything that is unhealthy!

Now...Now  your body is just in shock from you eating so healthy.

WORDS TO LIVE BY:

What you put in your mouth TODAY.. Will effect what you see on the scale in two days. (if you eat a BigMac today you will see the results in two days :sad2: )

If you just drink 6 x 8oz. glasses of water a day, YOU WILL LOOSE WEIGHT (add a little walking = BONUS)

DisneyAprilFool

Becky- it took me a whole week of working out before the scale budged for me last week- and typically, when I START working out/eating less, I see an immediate drop on the scale. So I was a bit bothered by the darn numbers, but I decided to just ignore them and keep going! And then on Friday, I was down about 2.5 pounds!

Oh my- I wish I had YOUR WILLPOWER, btw, to walk away from Krispy Kremes. They are my nemesis- among about a million other sugary treats ;)

Thanks guys! I'm so glad I have you all for support :)

Okay, so regarding the Krispy Kreams---it was easy to walk away since I'm not a fan. BUT...If it had been chocolate...oh God...someone would've had to pull me away from it since I have such a sweet tooth when it comes to chocolate :rotfl:

Hey, I tried to snag some lime green heads for our trip and there wasn't a SINGLE ONE!!! LOL! So I had to get a different color for weight loss ;)

I'm doing good today- already worked out, had my exciting lunch (a bologna sandwich- 100 calories, basically. 2 pieces of low cal bread, mustard and a piece of fat free bologna). But I find it more filling then microwaveable meals!

Hi ladies~Well we are half way through the day! Hope everyone is doing great! I'm on my lunch break right now & had a banana, hard boiled egg & yogurt. Seems like a reasonable lunch. I didn't have a chance to get to the grocery store yesterday since I was driving back from Idaho, but hope to go tonight to get some snacks & stuff for lunch at work. Any suggestions?

Snack food....:goodvibes I'm so bad with snack foods. I tend to really stock up on those sort of things more than healty good meal foods. Anyways some of the snack foods I tend to get are...the 100cal packs (the lorna doone cookies are yummy as well as the Ritz snack mix, Keebler fudge stripe cookies and Hershey's Pretzle bars). Other snacks...carrots, pretzels and even popcorn (the smart pop one). I think my fav snack for chocolate is a York Peppermint patty (one of the small mini ones:thumbsup2 )...even the regular sized one isn't that bad compaired to other candy bars.

I can't wait to hear what everyone else dose for snacks.:hippie:

I hope that will work for you. I know that I would just get tired of listening to it jingle & I'd just take it off so that I could finish eating what I started.:rotfl2: It is so hard for me to stop eating once I have started because I just love food too much. Hey, doesn't EVERYONE want to be a Mojito Mama? ;)

I've done well today- had my coffee and Special K for breakfast (I've learned that I feel fuller if I have my coffee first and then wait until 10 AM and have my Special K), then two low cal bread/fat free bologna sandwiches (these are 100 CALORIES A PIECE, ladies- the bread is 40 cal per slice and the meat is 25 cals a slice).

The only thing I've had for a snack is fresh strawberries sliced open with Splenda sprinkled on top!

Dinner will be ham- so I'll only have a small piece of it and then probably a lot of veggies. I'm trying not to change my dinners completely- jut to learn portion control. I'm BAD at portion control- even worse when I go to a restaurant. I BELIEVE in appetizers and the main course and dessert! LOL!

Snacks...

Costco has these GREAT 100 Cal snacks made with Hershey's kisses and Reese's Pieces- they have the cereals in there and just a sprinkling of chocolate, but they are good when you are craving something sweet.

I totally agree with the small popcorn packs- I think on WWers, you can even have a BIG bag of popcorn (lite) for only like 2 points? So not bad!

My darling Grandma taught me that beets were a good snack- and healthy for you. I'm not a real fruit/veggie type person, so it's hard to convince me to eat those as snacks. Although the strawberries were great!

I stock up on a lot of the WWers/Lean Cuisine meals- and you can get the lean Hot Pockets too. I'm just kinda 'blah'ed out by them at the moment.

Hi again! I had a good day. The only cheat I did was I had a hershey kiss. The rest I stayed right on plan (doing LA Weightloss). Water is a weekness for me, and I know its totally important. So far I think I've had 48 ounces of water, plus 6 ounces of tea. I don't think the tea counts. I'm still thirsty though, so I should be able to go down another glass.

For those of you who are counting calories on your own, check out fitday.com. Its FREE and lets you put in the foods you eat and it tells you how many calories you had. You can also track your weight over time and look at the nutrient content of your food. My dad lost over 100 pounds just by counting calories with fitday. (Gosh, I sound like an ad). But its free.

I think I did pretty good today too :)

For breakfast I had a peach yoplait yogurt & a banana.
mid-morning snack I had about 10 almonds
lunch I had chicken/barley soup
mid-afternoon snack-10 almonds

Now, I'm getting off of work & I have to decide what to have for dinner. I bought broccoli the other day so I'd like to have some steamed broccoli & maybe chicken or pork.

I have a class tonight which doesn't get out until 8:30 which means late dinner for me & I probably won't make it to the gym :( but at least I got in a couple of walks today during breaks at work.

Talk to you all tomorrow :cool1:

Everyone is doing great and like we said on the other thread- what matters here is the fact that- you're conditioning your body to be healthier! Whether you lose 1 pound or 10- getting out there, eating right, and exercising will help ALL OF US during our stay at WDW!

WOO HOO! Keep it up, guys and gals!

I got in a second work-out today. That's the only reason I like working out in the morning- it gives me the OPTION of getting in a second one at night. Otherwise, I tend to procrastinate and not even get ONE workout in there! (I have a cheap elliptical machine from Walmart- so that's what I usually use).

I want to lose weight...

Because my Mom is constantly dealing with a bad back and we all know if she weighed a little less, she'd be in less pain.

Because my Grandma knew I could do it and although she passed away in March, I know she'd be proud of me, no matter what.

Because I want to be able to go-go-go instead of slowing down the family in September.

Because I want to live as long as possible and not die from clogged arteries or whatever other health concerns surround fat people.

Because yes, I'd like to wear nice clothes again. My body shape is right 'there' on the verge of being able to wear the (albeit HUGE) largest sizes of the 'normal' clothes and HAVING to wear the 'plus' size clothes. A little frustrating when I KNOW it's all MY FAULT!

I was really tired getting up today- my scale shows a slight gain (Yes, I'm bad- I watch the scale daily- bad habit, but I do it). This thread is just what I need to get my booty in gear and get on my elliptical machine. Thanks!

I'm done with my working out- I did it. LOL. That's all. I'm actually rather proud that I've worked out for two weeks now without making any excuses (and goodness I've got a lot of excuses!!!).

Sooooo many reasons.
I want to KNOCK my hubby's socks off when he gets home.
I would like to be able to go outside with my son and run and play ball or jump on the trampoline without being winded after a few minutes.
I want to wear whatever I want. I don't want to be restricted to shirts that go past my butt and mu-mu's. :rotfl2:
I want to feel better and live longer!

GREAT question Lori

I have done SO much better today. I had a protien shake for breakfast, organic carrots with a bit of Organic dressing for a snack and I am going to have a stuffed mushroom for lunch. It is HUGE so I will split it in half. For dinner, organic chicken (see a theme) with veggies and mixed berries for dessert!
I might even do Pilates later, we'll see!

Let's finish off the day with a BANG ladies!!! We can do this! :yay:

Yeah by the time we were walking up our street she was tuckered out, went in the back yard got some water and crashed in the shade!

This afternoon I worked on the spreadsheet I will be using to enter everyone's information into and keep track of it.

I decided it might be useful for all of us to use individually as well. You can keep your weight weekly or for those of us who weigh daily :lmao:

It doesn't matter as long as we watch those numbers go down.

To be able to use this spreadsheet you will need to have Microsoft Excel or a similar program.

When you follow the link, click on Save and pick the file you want it saved to. If you aren't familiar on how to do this - it is easiest to save it to your desktop and then move it to the folder you want it in.

Hope those who want to use it will find it useful !! :thumbsup2

Amazing anyone can do 1 workout I can't even imagine 2. :scared1: The only excersise I'm doing is running up 2 flights of stairs at work, once a day. I really need to start doing something.

Hi everyone! Glad to hear we are really doing this. All your posts keep me motivated! I am sticking to low carb for now, and (I know that I shouldn't but it also keeps me motivated one way or the other) since I weigh myself like constantly, see the scale dropping already! Yippiee! :cool1:

So, last night we went out and I had steak tips, chicken breast combo with a double order of carrots. I'm really not even sure what low carb is, besides I am cutting out bread, crackers, sugars, fruits, potatoes, is there anything else I should know about????:confused3 Guess I have to do some research, but any help I can get I am asking you for! Thanks!

I am going to the gym today and will have my trainer do my measurements and my BMI. I have lost nearly 60lbs since Jan 2005:thumbsup2 but would LOVE to lose 25-30 by 8/30.

I will PM my results later today, I'm SO excited to join this group and attain my goal. All of your posts are super motivating and I look forward to all the hard work to come!

ps...I also think the $5 should go for drinks, but count me in regardless:banana:

:thumbsup2

http://www.loripadillaphotography.com/Disney Pictures/WeeklyWeighIn.xls :wizard:

I will host it on my website until everyone that needs it has downloaded it !

Thanks Lori.. that is a great spreed sheet, I am ready to rock !!

NOOOOOO CARROTS !! or corn. Those are both big no no's on the low carb diet. Just think GREEN.. you can have anything green and in the fruit catagory, any type of mellon or berry. I am doing the low carb also:hug: I did it two years ago and lost 15 pounds in 5 weeks.. 20 carbs a day for the first 2 weeks.

Yesterday I had:

Hard boiled egg @ 6:30 (get your metabolizem going)

Eggbeaters w/salsa & sausages @ 8:30

Southbeach Maple bar =snack

Marinated chicken thighs x 2 small salad w/ranch @ 12:30

Steak & Asparagas w/baslamic vinagerette baked @ 5:00

Good morning~I didn't get much of a chance to post yesterday. We had a really scary incident at work and had to evacuate our campus (I work for Portland Community College) so I wasn't near a computer for most of the day.

I did pretty good yesterday. We drove to the Oregon coast, which was a fun drive. Had dinner at the coast (salmon & a salad) and had 2 hard-boiled eggs for breakfast yesterday. Realized that I skipped lunch but I think that lunch occured during the evacuation at work so I didn't even think about it.

I'm off of work today so I'm hoping to get to the gym in the next hour or so. I'm going to try & get at least 60 minutes in.

I'm thinking about doing a low-carb diet but not sure yet. My DH eats whatever he wants & I'm afraid trying to do low-carb in the same house as him will be very hard for me. It seems like the best way to lose a large amount of weight though.

Today is another day though!

So today and tomorrow- they are REALLY important days, ladies, for our weigh-in on Friday!!! So no matter what- STICK WITH IT through today and tomorrow and the scale SHOULD reward you!!! (And if it doesn't- you'll get rewarded next week :rotfl: )

I'm doing great! I had a bite of a mozzerella stick:sick: last night, but I'm good. Whoever said that 2 day thing is brilliant...it really helps!

OMGosh I have to say that your own personal website is so amazing. I love the baby sitting up and the newborn in the mesh. Very nice photos. Any chance on wanting to do a photo session with Kendyll in Disney???:rolleyes1

Thanks you for the compliment  I have considered bringing my stuff to Disney but we'll see what happens.... I would love to get great pictures while I am there but HATE the idea of lugging that big ol camera around  Most of the time I try to just bring my point and shoot. One of my dreams would be to follow a family around MK and just capture their day, expressions, ect. How fun would that be ?!

Funny story though. The first year I had my fancier Digital SLR camera I brought it to Disney. It was a few years ago so I bet it was when Austin was 5 or 6. He wasn't feeling really good that day so I rented a stroller for him that day and still lugged him around Magic Kingdom.

We were over near the exit of Fantasyland where you head into Frontierland. It's a bit of a hill and slopes downward. My camera was hanging off the back of the stroller. Somehow I knocked it off with my hand ( I have NO idea how !) and it smashed to the ground :scared1:

I let go of the stroller to grab my camera and inspect/mourn the damage. Austin went rolling down the hill in the stroller and I was so concerned with the camera in the moment I hadn't noticed right away :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Dan had broken his ankle and was still in a walking cast - he went hobbling/jogging after Austin who was picking up speed at that point !! :lmao:

I was so in shock I think I just kneeled there with my mouth wide open. :scared1:

My parents and brother were with us and when it was all done we could NOT stop laughing :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

On the other hand - even though Austin wasn't feeling well, I think that may have been Austin's favorite ride of the whole trip. He said afterwards he just thought that maybe my 20yo brother had taken the stroller from me and started running ( which he was been known to do being silly !) :scared:

My family still remind me of that day that I "abandoned" my son for my camera ! :lmao: My excuse was that I forgot we were on a hill and I wasn't use to have a stupid stroller anyway !!

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

What plan are you going to follow to lose weight ?

Msslaydbug
04-25-2007, 01:35 PM
Ok -
I'll go first. I am doing Weight Watchers. I like that I can essentially eat anything I want as long as I budget for it throughout the day.
I have used it before - and when I actually follow it- I lose the weight !

Now - I just have to keep myself accountable and make sure I follow it. Yesterday I didn't have the best day. I didn't excersize and I didn't make the best food choices.

Today is a new day though and I have done great today. I just had an egg beaters omlet with lowfat cheese, mushrooms, onions and fresh tomatoes on it. It was YUMMY !

There is a huge difference between doing Atkins, Southbeach or just doing a lower carb diet.

On Atkins, for the first 2 weeks ONLY. CARROTS are on the no no list as well as all fruit, nuts, beans etc.... If it's not a green veggie, don't eat it.. As for milk, look at the back of the carton, Milk has more carbs then cream.

Like i said, this is on atkins..

Hello everyone!!!
Today has been good so far! I did some ab work and stretching this morning. And I had my protein shake for breakfast and some carrots for a snack. I plan on going for another walk this evening. I heard somewhere that it is better to do short bursts of exercise than none at all. So even if you only have 5 - 10 minutes get up and do something!!! Take a walk around the block, so outside and pull some weeds, do a few crunches, etc. MOVING is the key. You gotta move more and eat right!!!! You all are doing GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone was talking about carbs, and I wanted to let you know that I read a few books about Carbs and one thing that I read that was a great idea, is if you are going to say eat fruit, do it on an empty stomach and with nothing else. So like an apple for a snack. Fruit is soooo good for you, but high in natural sugars. If you use fruit wisely it adds a huge benefit to your diet!! Just a thought.

QOTTD!! Well I am LOW carbing. Not cutting all carbs out. Eliminating most suagr and "white" foods from my diet. NO SODA, not even diet. Exercising even if for only a few minutes everyday. Which includes cardio 3x per week and stretching, etc 5 times a week. I will start a Yoga program on Friday as well. :thumbsup2

You guys are doing awesome!!!! Keep up the good work!

Well I did good today. I did alittle extra walking and skipped breakfast other than a cappacino and for lunch I just had 3 orange slices. I'm saving the other slices for tonight as a snack when I need it.

I had 1 oz of apple juice adding in as a lite flavour in my 14 oz glass of water.
For supper I plan on eatting about a cup size of lasagna for supper. That should put me at my intake limit for the day.

My biggest plan for me is that when I'm really hungry I'm just going to come out here and write out lines..." I do not need to eat food for no reason; I will eat food only when I am seriously hungry". So if you see me writting these lines out, don't laugh....it's my way of coping.

As for what diet i'm trying to follow...it's the Lannah's cut out everything diet. I know there might be times where I fall but hopefully I can make it up.

Today hasn't been too hard so I'm one day closer to going. Even though I'm hungry I feel gulity for wanting to eat some supper. I have to eat something to get some energy and to keep up with my 9 year old, 7 year old and 8 month old girls.

Thanks for letting me post how I felt today and for being there for me everyone.

Lannah - 3 orange slices is all you had for lunch ? Good grief woman !! I would probably keel over from hunger !

I am glad you are doing so well today !! Keep up the good work !! :cool1:

Youre not switching to WW. Youre not doing it.

Youre sticking with Low Carb.... it's already working, and IMO a healthier way of eating. Who wants to eat 'fake' (low-fat) foods????

Hi Cat  I didn't know you were joining us over here :grouphug:

I think WW is truly what ou make it be.... It is about the choices you choose to make with your food.

While some people may spend their "points' on fake low fat foods - they really try to promote fruits, veggies, protien, lots of water and excersize.
These are things I am REALLY bad about and need to teach myself.

Portion control is also another thing I struggle with daily. If my eyes weren't bigger than my stomach I wouldn't be in this predicement in the first place :lmao:

I guess with all things in life moderation is the key :thumbsup2

Today was not bad so far. I did allow myself a few tortilla chips with some salsa. The rest of the day though has been A-OK!!!
Going out for a walk in a bit.

Good job everyone! Keep it up!!!

Good job Tia !! :cool1:

I hope everything is Ok at work ! Glad to hear it was just a scare

So glad too...they are still investigating, but probably just a student playing a really mean joke. Definitely makes things really scary though after the VT incident last week. Makes me not want to go back to work at a college...

Gosh, everyone is doing so great! I need to stay on track. Today we went to lunch at the cheesecake factory. I stayed away from the cheesecake, but had some chicken tacos. They were really good but I doubt they were the best thing for me to eat while I'm trying to lose weight.

By the way Lori....meant to tell you this morning, Thank you for the spreadsheet. I'm glad you put one together before I did...my DH says I'm the queen of spreadsheets because I use them to plan our trip, weekly activities, etc. Glad to know I'm not the only one who uses them for everything :)

Just got back from my walk. For dinenr tongith we are having pork chops and veggies. Fruit for dessert.
Tomorrow is my Couch to 5K day!!! :scared1: But it's only for 20 minutes, and I can do just about anything for 20 minutes right???

Lori - I LOVE that little affirmation you posted. Affirmations are sooooo good to do each and everyday. That is one thing I need to get better about!

Cat - Welcome to our thread! We need cheerleaders!!!! :cheer2: You are lucky you don't have to worry about this stuff! :) I am jealous!!!

I was thinking on my walk tonight.... what if we had a bonus exercise challenge?? The start of every day we before we post here on the DIS we write down our post count. At the end of the day (say by 7pm or so) we see how many posts we did that day. For each post we do on here, we have to do one push up or crunch! I LOVE to DIS, but I also know that I can sit here forever and before I know it, an hour has passed. So sitting here is fine.... but then we get to make up for it with exercise! Any thoughts??

Wow, can you ladies TALK!!!

Uuuh. I've done good today, actually. Breakfast was Special K and coffee. Lunch was a WWer's meal- their Alfredo, actually (it is my FAVORITE microwaveable meal! YUMMM!!!)! I had some cantaloupe for dessert and then for dinner, I had salad with a bit of barbecue sauce on top for dressing. Believe it or not- BBQ sauce has less calories then dressing!

I should drink a bit more water today, but I'll get there. :D

As for the plan I'm following- I'm following the 'it makes sense to eat less then you used to' plan. Really. I like WWers, I like Atkins- but in the end, they seem like diets. I'm trying my hardest to just teach myself PORTION CONTROL- heck, just CONTROL would be nice! LOL!

Everyone is doing SO WELL! I cannot believe how this has taken off!!!

I wish I knew everyone's names- it's so hard for me to keep up with the posts trying to remember everyone's screen names ;) LOL!

Way to stick with your jogs! Wish I could do the same...I just haven't worked my way back into jogging yet after my son was born. Hopefully I can start doing that a couple times a week...

Went to the gym tonight & was riding the bike & had been doing it for about 30 minutes when the daycare ladies called over the loud speaker asking me to pick up my son because he pooped his diaper (they don't change diapers in the daycare there). So, so much for finishing my goal of 60 minutes on the bike tonight because I had to change a diaper. The joys of motherhood.... :)

I did my ticker from my high weigh in at the Dr. a month ago. I lost five pounds in the month. ( I had to go back to the Dr. and got weighed again) So, before my May trip ticker was on, I had a ticker that never moved...and I can't deal with a ticker that hasn't moved...just me, i need to see something to stay motivated. If you want, as of tomorrow, I can change it to reflect only our dates. (since I weigh daily, i know it is going to move, so it will be ok to change it);) Let me know what you guys decide.

Oh and ETA: the only reason I am even trying to do this is that I had that 5 pound success, so it put it in my head that i CAN do this! yippiee!

My name is Lori ! I live in Denver Co. I have 2 kids a 9yo DS and a 2yo DD. My DH and I have been married for 9 years. I have a photography business and my DH is in the military. We have a golden retreiver named Chandler and a cat named Mr Snuffles.

I am 30 years old ( almost 31 now :scared1: ). Silly as it sounds turning 30 to me was very hard. I was a very secure " in your 20's" girls. Sounds silly - I know.

We like to travel as a family. Of course WDW is ouur (my) :lmao: drug of choice ! But being in Denver Vegas is just a quick plane hop away and we find ourselves there pretty often too :woohoo:

I need to lose weight to feel more confident and better about myself. I don't want to be the fat friend, the fat mom, or the fat wife anymore. I have tried numerous times to lose weight over the years but I always lose my motivation :rolleyes1 This time with so many people on the same journey I am hoping I will get this thing done already !! :cool1:

:cheer2: So let's do this !! :cheer2:

Patsfan7
04-26-2007, 10:11 AM
OK, so to follow Lori's lead:

My name is Colleen and I am a food-a-holic! I am 35 years old, and I don't know where the last 15 years have gone! At 20 I was a size 0, then gained a little in College, but could get it off SO FAST! Then, got out of college and all went to heck! I have two children DD 5 ("and a half" she would make me say, she turns 6, 9/29) and DS almost 2 (5/26) I just woke up one day and was this fat mess! I don't know how it happened. I guess one pound at a time. I would like to lose weight so that I can keep up with my kids, and be a better mom. I would like to be attractive to my husband again. He didn't marry this, and he deserves better. (I think he is super HOT, so he deserves the same)

I live north of Boston, and am a stay at home mom. I used to work in accounting and have an MBA that I have never used, as I walked graduation 5 months pregnant with DD... but I want to be home with the little "angels".

Like Lori, I was a confident 20 something. BUT, I thought I never wanted kids, thought I wanted to be an attorney, and KNEW I never wanted to drive a mini-van! Now, I am all that I never wanted to be... FAT, at home, and would LOVE a mini-van! BUT, I love love love my life, except for the chaos that is my house! I am very disorganized, and I think that would change if I weighed less, I would have the energy to get myself and my home together!

I would love to do this, and with all of your help it seems within reach. Once I went over 160 I kind of figured, what the heck, all is lost... but with everyone's help and constant (I am needy) encouragement, we can all do this together!!!!!:woohoo:

I lovvvvve WDW. Never been to Vegas but would move to Southern California in a heart beat. I need to go to Europe & Greece before I die, or my life will be incomplete.

I actually really enjoy going to the gym & once I'm there I have a good time. It's just so hard to get my butt inside the door because I'm too tired after work or I have other things I have to do. I just need to learn to manage my time better I guess.

My name is Pru ;) It’s my online name due to a stalker exboyfriend from over 5 years ago- I’ll tell you my real name at WDW ;) ;) ;)

I’m 29- will be 30 in January of 08. If for NO OTHER REASON- I’d like to enter my 30’s in decent shape!

I have three kids- a stepson, who is 11, and with us primarily, a 7 year old daughter, and a 19 month old baby boy (he’s rotten, yes!). I am currently a stay-at-home Mom- I never had the chance before Bubba was born, so now I’m soaking it in!

I live with a zoo of animals- you want one? Dog or cat? Puppy or kitten? Just send me an address and I’ll ship one off to you ;) (I have three of the CUTEST foster kittens right now--- aaaah, babies!!!)

We live in SinCity- so we are near you, Keli. I hate it here.

I’ve only been to DisneyWorld once- on our honeymoon. It was actually quite funny because my DH was trying to convince me to go on a cruise for our honeymoon- this marriage is both of our second marriage (BOTH firsts ended very, very badly- we really picked the ‘crème of the crop’ that first time around!) and he had went to WDW with the Wicked Witch he married the first time- so he just KNEW I wouldn’t want to go there.

I told him, ‘Screw it- I want to go to DISNEYWORLD’- so we went and made our OWN very happy memories! (His first honeymoon there- the Wicked Witch actually wore all black, sweats and complained the first day about being hot. Wore heels into the park the second day- and he had warned her to wear comfy shoes and light clothes- then complained about her feet- and their last day? She refused to sit with him on the plane ride home! LOL!)

So I’m very, very excited about getting back there. I HAVE been to EuroDisney- my Junior year of high school. I don’t remember much of it now, but I know the whole family had a blast.

We usually make it out to DisneyLand every single year- this year will be the exception. We always spend about $1500 going out there and I’ve decided to allot that to the WDW fund versus DL. DL is a real disappointment, to me, after being to the World ;)

My favorite memories of DL are with my Grandma. She lived her whole life in New York and my Mom convinced her to come out here to be with the only family who would take care of her. So she’s lived out here the past 3 years and we managed to get her to DL twice. I’ve got a funny story about stopping the Haunted Mansion ride- ask me about it sometime. Anyways, Grandma loved Winnie the Pooh and just loved the park- she wasn’t used to being ‘spoiled’, so it was wonderful just buying her little silly Winnie the Pooh things and taking care of her. She died this March. It will be hard seeing the Pooh things at WDW and knowing I won’t have someone special to bring one home to…

Anyways- this is now a book! I’m going, I’m going!

Good morning everyone~ We are one day closer! Woohoo!! Tomorrow is weigh in day.:scared1: I'm hoping I lost...

I printed Lori's spreadsheet off last night & hung it on the wall in front of my scale in the bathroom so that I have something to keep track of my progress & motivate me. I'm a visual person, so I figure having something in front of me will help me out. I'm thinking I should put it on the fridge also, so that everytime I'm tempted to pig out I can see my progress on there & back away from eating just because I'm bored. :)

Becky- I'm just like you. I love working out, it's just doing it- that initial DOING it that's so hard for me! I'd have a gym membership- I want to try water aerobics!- but my Husband's schedule is so erratic! It's hard enough to get 45 minutes alone to take my dogs out to the dog park- letalone work out! (And when I do- I walk the perimeter of the park to get exercise!)

Hi Pru~I started going to water aerobics a few weeks ago & it is so much fun. Definitely one of my favorite workouts. I feel like I work really hard but don't get as tired or exhausted like I do when I'm in a kickboxing or aerobics class. I hope you can fit it into your schedule because I think you'll really enjoy the class.

Morning all!

Timmy!!! I am shocked! See, you really do learn something new everyday!
No weight loss yet. But I am not giving up. It takes awhile to kick that metabolism back into gear, so I am confident next week will be better!
I LOVE reading about all of you! :thumbsup2

Ok so the ESSAY of the day.

My name is Tia. I am 29 years old. I was born in Colorado (the best state ever in my opinion) and moved to Arizona when I was in the 4th grade. Living in a military town I told myself everyday I was NOT going to marry a GI. Well... yeah. What can I say. He was too darn cute and all mysterious and stuff and I fell hard!!! We lived in Hawaii for about 3 years and then came back here. (there's a lot in the middle, and I will save that for another time) We have one amazing kid, Ryan who is 9 years old. My husband is in the National Guard. His unit is deployed and it will be 1 year since he left on May 1st. Still another 8 - 12 months to go! I miss him more than you can imagine!
I work a business from home which is great so I don't have to shuffle Ry to after school care and whatnot. I love what I do, and of course the money that comes along with it! I am a huge fan of gardening. I LOVE to read, write, spend time with my family, watch movies and travel! My ultimate dream job is to work for Disney planning events. I have wanted to do that since well as long as I can remember! That would be the best!
I was NEVER a skinny minnie. But I was never this large either. I am TIRED of being fat. Always pulling at my shirt so it doesn't hug my tummy, not being able to run around with Ry for very long. It just all is crappy. So I am making a change and I am SOOOOO glad to have you all doing it with me! :grouphug:

Nice to meet you all and thanks for going ont his journey with me! :goodvibes

Hi! I posted a PM this morning. My goal is to lose 35lbs. by Sept. and a total 75. I,ve lost it before and then gained it all back plus some after my knee replacement. So, here I go again! I really feel like the 'old lady' of this group, I am 54, married, 3 dd and 5 grandchildren.:grouphug: My dh and I have custody of my 14 (who turns 15 4/29) yr.old dgd and 13 yr.old dgs. We've raised them since they were babies:) I work full time at a large retail store as a sales associate--it's a job:rolleyes1 My dh is retired and a great Mr. Mom:rotfl: The whole family went to WDW May '06, it was the 1st time for all of us and we loved it. So all 11 of us (including dd#1's dh) are returing in Sept.pixiedust: We are meeting up with dd#1's dsil and family so we will be a total of 15 or 16. I hate exercising, have lots of mobility problems and Love to eat sweets and comfort food:rotfl: So, I am cutting back on portions and seriously making a effort to move more and be more active. I wish everyone luck :shamrock: and pixiedust:

Lori - GREAT question!!!!! I'll answer as I sit here eating my turkey sandwich and carrot slices...

I'm Chris, 41, We live in Crystal Lake, Illinois. I'm a SAHM, PTO president, Brownie leader, Skating mom, soccer mom, drive a honda crv, have 2 giant Irish Setter dogs, married to my hubby Mike for 18 years (last Sunday). We have three kids, Casey (12), Grace (7) and our son Patrick, would have been 9 this August. He died 2 days after he was born. BUt really it's OK!!!! I know you guys can't imagine it, but he taught me more about life and love in 2 days than I ever would have learned on my own.

That being said...I have a doctorate degree in clinical Psychology - so yes It's Dr. Scrappinmom! :lmao: :lmao: nah just kidding. I worked full time, as a adolescent unit director until my son died. Casey was in day care from 6 weeks to 4 yrs old. After Patrick died, a HUGE lightbulb went off in my head & I said I never wanted to work and miss out on anything Casey did ever again. I quit...no leave no disability, I just quit. Traded in the VW beetle for a mini van...The quitting part is significant for me because 6 months later I was pregnant with Grace and on bed rest...I had worked there for 11 years...so I would have gotten 32 weeks of PAID time off!! UGH oh well...The bottom line, I think I usually a pretty good mom, but man I stink at being pregnant!!!!

First Disney trip, I was in HS & too cool for disney. I actually hated it. When MIke & I first got married, we went to disney for our 1 yr anniversary..I was hooked. We took Casey for 2 weeks in January 99, then went back in March of 02, then again in 03...then MIke dropped the bomb..."Honey, I know you love taking the girls to Disney...but how many times do I need to ride that darn small world ride & see that silly castle?":scared1: :scared1: I was crushed....then in Sept 05 that teaser free dining thing happened...The girls were older Grace was 5 and Casey was 9...???could I take them by myself??? HECK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!! We had the absolute best time of our lives!!!!! We love Daddy but WOW this was GREAT! So we did it again in 06, went again (just for a day) last month. and going in Sept AGAIN! As long as there's free dining...I can convince MIke to let me spend a couple grand on a vacation...heck he GOLFS twice that in a season!

weight has ALWAYS been an issue for me. In high school my dad would offer to "pay" me for every 5 pounds I'd lose...SO I found a nice little black beauty pill that "assisted" me....well I was a size 5...as soon as HS ended & I went to college my "source" was gone....so I ballooned up to a size 10 quickly!!! got back to a size 8 for my wedding....kept that undercontrol for a long time...gained 80 pounds when I was pregnant with Casey...& it's been downhill ever since...

I've tried Atkins, South Beach, Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem, Medifast and WW. The only one that works for me is WW. I can't do the high protein stuff..

I also have lupus, and a funky heart condition...which keep me on a very low dose steroid. THAT i've used as an excuse for 3 years now! Yes it might make me lose weight slowly...but it's all the food I put in my mouth not the steroid!

I am excited to go on this journey with you guys!

Okay, so I finally found a few minutes to answer the question of the day :)

My name is Becky. I'm 26 and married to Will who is 31. We have a 5 1/2 month old son who is so amazing...I love being a mom. Never realized how much fun it would be.

I met my husband in college. We both went to Southern Oregon University & played on the basketball teams there on scholarship. He is from Alaska so I have spent a lot of time up there over the past few years. After college we moved up there year-round & I got a job as an acdemic advisor for the University of Alaska Southeast. This past January we decided to move to Portland, Oregon which is where my family lives. I am now working as an advisor for Portland Community College, which I really love. We miss Alaska but just felt like we needed to get away for awhile.

last year before my son was born (before i even became pregnant or ever thought about becoming a mommy) I began working out every day and eating really healthy & dropped about 40 pounds after a trip to WDW. I was at 155 pounds & was in very good shape, wearing a size 7/8 and was really really happy about that. I'm 5'9" so that was skinny for me :) I got pregnant in February, my mother-in-law passed away in June and stress kicked in and I began eating like a pig everyday for the rest of my pregnancy & I gained over 80 pounds. Now I'm wearing a size 14 (Yikes!) and it is so depressing to see my body how it is right now knowing that just over a year ago I was in such good shape. I want to lose all of this weight to get back in shape to feel good about myself again because honestly my self-esteem is a bit low right now. I also want to be a good example for my son and have my husband proud of me again. I've been an athlete my whole life and this shouldn't be as hard as it is for me, but I'm really struggling how to manage my full-time career, being a mom, a wife & working towards my Masters degree. It's a bit overwhelming for me & I notice that I have just let myself go so that I can do everything else that I need to get done.

Anyway, that's my little essay :) Hope it didn't bore you all too bad. So far, I'm having a really good day and am currently eating my snack of almonds right now to get me through the morning.

It's easy to let stress and life take you away- I do it all of the time. I've just never had the metabolism since I was 20ish to ALLOW myself to 'just let go'. When I just let go- I end up like I am today! BIG!

I bet you Alaska is beautiful- I wanted to live there when I was a teenager. Heck, I still would kinda like to live there!

I know that my SIL has to shop in the girls section. She is like a size 14 girls. When I was that small, I had to have my prom dresses taken in (at the top;) ) even though they were a 0. My friend's cousin also has a problem with things not fitting, she also has them taken in at the waist...even the 0's. HATE HER!!! Just kidding.

I looked ematiated...I look back at the pics and say to my parents..."didn't you feed me?" You know, of course they did, and I ate whatever I wanted, but I was also on the swim team doing 100 laps a day at practice, and either cheerleading or running track in addition to the swimming. Now, I do NOTHING! So, I always kid around that I won't let the kids do sports because it will just set them up to be fat when they stop! (I am totally kidding when I say that!!!!)

Here's a picture that was taken at my friends house and she found it for me to scan. It's not the best pic, but you can see, I was gross skinny.

Thank goodness b/c my scale didn't move an ounce! Of course I must confess that I had some weak moments this week so I wasn't completely expecting a change. DH and I went out to dinner on Tuesday and there was a cupcake shop nearby - I swear it called out to me and I was so weak I couldn't resist. I won't go into the details for fear of sending someone else to a cupcake shop but it was yummy! Now back on track! If i could just lay off the desserts I'd be golden.

My goal for this week is to limit myself to only 2 desserts between now and next weigh in. DH and I always grab something sweet after dinner so going from 7 to 2 would be great!

Added :) And I've made this one so it's just from the beginning of OUR challenge! (Too bad the Disboards don't have their own ticker system- that'd be cute!)

Oh yeah- and someone suggested taping yourself and I TOTALLY agree now! Because my arms have lost 0.5 inches and my tummy has lost like 2 inches. I've never taped before, so I could be a bit wrong- but I figure it can't hurt! It's even more inspiring to think I've lost weight off of my HUGE stomach (this past year- literally, I've had two or three people SERIOUSLY think I'm pregnant- OY!- that hurts! Of course, it didn't inspire me to lose anymore weight- it made me go EAT something greasy instead!)

Hi everyone!

I had a drop on the scale, but that is just how it always is for me... a gigantic (to me) drop the first week or two, and then NOTHING... so, that's when I usually give up. So, keep me on track PLEASE! My ticker shows total weight loss since March....FYI...again, if everyone is going to do the ticker from the day we started this Mojito Madness, I can make another one for the DIS, but I really need to see the improvement to keep motivated!:confused3 Ticker Factory has this thing where you can see a graph of your progress. it is so motivational, and I need to see the total loss to really see any drop on the graph....:thumbsup2

Oh, and I also changed my ticker to show what I REALLY would LOVE to lose. Before, I had my goal at 160...because I wouldn't be sad with that result... but you know what, since I am on this ride with you all, I am going to put in 125 for a goal...hey, why the heck not? You guys are SO MOTIVATIONAL!!! Especially my cheerleader and coach! ;)

For those who dropped a pound- or even less- go to your kitchen and pick up a product that represents THAT weight. Then think of what it's been doing to your heart, your knees, your back! It's GONE! So 1/2 pound, 1 pound- that's GREAT!

For those of you who haven't seen the scale move yet- grab out your tape measurers and get your arms, your bust, your waist, your tummy, measurements TODAY so next Friday- when you see the scale drop, you'll ALSO see the inches come off! (And even if the scale doesn't move- I bet you'll still lose on the tape measurer!)

I'm in this for real this time- not for all of the soft sserve in the world, but because I have a great group of gals losing with me :D

Especially my cheerleader and coach! ;)

I hear where you are coming from:thumbsup2 Keep your ticker the way that makes YOU the most motivated.. actually, you have given me hope... and someone to catch up to :yay:  . I am setting my goal at 30 pounds because to me that is doable:) I need to loose 60 lbs. or more.. but I need to take baby steps or the whole thing is overwhelming and I fall off the scale.. so to speak

GREAT Job everyone !!

Fot hose that didn't lose - please remember that sometimes it can take a week or more for the scale to show your efforts. I have been following WW since the beginning of April so my scale is probably just moving because of what I ate and excersized last week !! :thumbsup2

I lost 2.6 this week :woohoo: I have been losing only about 1 pound a week so I will take a slightly bigger number :yay: I really think it is because I am trying to be more active.

Let's keep it up ladies !! I have done better this week than I have in awhile and I truly thinks it's because we are all here for support !! :grouphug:

:cool1:

Oh yeah- and someone suggested taping yourself and I TOTALLY agree now! Because my arms have lost 0.5 inches and my tummy has lost like 2 inches. I've never taped before, so I could be a bit wrong- but I figure it can't hurt! It's even more inspiring to think I've lost weight off of my HUGE stomach (this past year- literally, I've had two or three people SERIOUSLY think I'm pregnant- OY!- that hurts! Of course, it didn't inspire me to lose anymore weight- it made me go EAT something greasy instead!)

That was me, and Im telling you guys, when the scale stops moving, and it will... you'll staul as your weight adjusts and body compostition moves around... and youll get frustrated, BUT if you MEASURE yourself, youll stay motivated.

MEASURE NOW!

It's been a good week--hell on my kids I'm sure but still a good week!!

I quit smoking, started my diet and got my period--I feel bad for my girls.

I didn't weigh myself because I would be upset--I always put on about 6lbs during this time so to keep myself happy no scale till next week when it would be a true representation.

Good luck to all!

Okay I'm so far behind on this thread that it's not funny.

First off as to Fridays weigh in I haven't lost anything yet. I must be saving it up for next weeks weigh in. I would of thought that I would of lost at least a pound. Hmmmmmmmmm oh well... I tried.

Next I didn't have a chance to answer yesterdays question on who I am.

Well my name is Lannah and I live in Ontario, Canada. I'm 34, 35 hmmmmmm hang on have to figure it out.... Okay I'm 34 going to be 35. My hubby is 40 and we have been married for going on 12 years and been together for 18 years. He was my high school sweetheart. He was done high school and I was just starting when I met him. Anyways we have 3 gorgous girls. Shelby is 9, Dakoda is 7 and Kendyll is 8 months. BTW-there is no way in "H" that I'm having another baby. I was fine pregnant, and I'm fine watching them after....it's that damn delivery of them.

As for work I have my own bussiness; I run a 24 hour daycare. There are days where i'm watching 10 to 14 kids a day. Not all at once....but there are times where they are dropped off at 4 in the morning and I watch them till 10 at night. Today is a better day for me....I have a 8 month old, 11 month old, a 18 month old, and two 4 year olds to watch today. I should be done by 6 today.

I'm thinking that alot of my weight is from having kids and not being as active. I find it easier to grab some junk food to eat then to make something healthy to eat. It's hard when I'm watching kids all day...I don't have a chance to have some one else look after the kids while I get quality time in for myself. So now I'm trying to get up and be more active and start cutting out the junk.

Anyways...thanks for the support and I wish you all well. Plus I cant wait to meet most of you guys in Disney.

Good morning all.
Sorry I was MIA this morning. A friend of mine needed a shoulder, so I was with her.
I didn't lose, I actually GAINED 3 pounds. So if you didn't lose or only lost 1 pound, BE THANKFUL!!! I have not given up though. I know that my body is probably in shock from all of the changes. It will happen, it just may take longer.

My goals for next week are:
1) Continue to move everyday. Even if it is only for 20 minutes or so.
2) Be aware of what I am putting in my mouth. Keeping a log is helping.
3) Continue to be here for my fellow MM's when they need me.
4) Stay focused on my ultimate goal.

OK guys -

I have been thinking about the actual contest portion of the contest. We had originally said we would all contribute $5 and the person who wins the highest percentage by August 31st will win the entire pot.

We have 17 members (not sure if they will all be contributing though)
I was also wanted to run by you doing $10 instead of $5 but again since I am not eligible only coordinating I will leave this up to the majority vote. we can collect it either via Paypal or you can send me a check or well concealed cash !

If all 17 people contribute $5 we will have $85 and if we all contribute $10 we will have $170

I would really like to split the final prize between the top 3 and have possibly a few mini challenges along the way.

Example :

If we collect $10 from every participating member we will have $170.
The first $100 will be the official price - everything on top of that will be for the mini challenges

Top Loser will win $50 (1/2 of the $100 prize)
2nd Place Loser will win 30% of the second half of the money $30
3rd Place Loser will win 20% of the second half of the money $20
Total $100

Mini Challenges ( 1 per month May, June, July, and August) (prizes will be divided evenly between any $$ over $100). Maybe we can brainstorm on ideas but maybe they can be things such as exercise challenge (set a goal and keep track of it), most weight (yes-weight not percentage)lost in a month, group vote on who was most encouraging that month, ect. Each winner of that month would receive a $20 prize.

All prizes will be in the form of Disney gift cards - no cash ! They are good at all the resorts and theme parks !

Let me know your ideas and what you think. Please feel free to PM with your ideas, questions, or concerns.

1~Drink water! I never seem to choose water & I always resort to Diet Coke instead.
2~Keep records of everything I eat...I always start a journal & stop after 2 days LOL
3~Exercise everyday
4~Keep my head up & stay motivated even when I'm feeling motivated & frustrated
5~Continue to check in to this thread multiple times each day because I think it helps keep me on track & it's nice to "talk" with everyone about what we are experiencing.

Good job last week everyone & let's keep working towards our goals!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Can I give another handy tip for non-water drinkers/soda junkies....like myself.

I know water is best for you, but Ice Tea is better then soda....

Get yourself an Ice Tea maker - theyre like $15 and wonderful! And make a perfect [pitcher of ice tea.... and you can get so many flavors of tea now.

You can totally take in enough liquids if you suck the tea down all day.

Goals for the week:

1. Start to do some sort of excercise. I would love to whip out my FIRM videos and STEP that I HAD to have, and witched and moaned about for months, then finally got it and have NEVER used it!

2. Post on this thread daily. I think I have been, but I want to be of assistance to anyone who needs a push!

3. Find something motivational to post! I love all of your posts with poems or sentiments to follow, and I need to find something to share with all of you!

4. Lose 2 pounds.

I love the idea of bumping it up to $10.00.
I also like the fact that everyone can win something along the way. It is better motivation I think to have the chance of winning something each month! So even if you don't win the big daddy at the end, there is still a chance for a "reward" along the way!
I am up for anything! (well within reason! ;) )

Lannah--I don't know what kind of weight loss plan you are on, but I found some easy and quick healthy things that help me. For breakfast I usually have a light yogurt (the kind sweetened with splenda). I usually eat this actually while walking between classrooms (I direct a daycare center). A good snack is a protein bar, or this trail mix I made with 5 whole unsalted almonds, sliced, 2tbsp of raisins, and 1/2 bananas worth of dried banana. I top it with a little Morton's light salt and shake it all together in a ziplock bag. Its quick and easy when I'm hungry. Lunch--Healthy choice frozen meals or a lean pocket. Other quick ideas are those little fruit cups you pack in lunches, so you don't have to worry about cutting up fruit, and if dinner is a dud, have a lean pocket again. Another quick snack is half a whole wheat tortilla, with 1 slice of 2% kraft cheese, in the microwave for 10 seconds and poof, its a quesadilla. I eat these with salsa.

I am only 5'3 and 3/4ish. I think you are much taller than me aren't you? That 125 weight would only put me in a size 5/6. (I only know that because that's about what I was when I met DH)

What is it you are curious about a size 0? I think it is WAY too SKINNY! Did you see that gross pic of me? I know I could find more, it was just GROSS! I looked like a BOY! I didn't realize it at the time of course. I would be ultra-happy in an 8/10 (about 140 as I recall;) ) at this point.... my girlfriend is an 8 at the Gap, and a 6 at Old Navy, (so she just told me), I think that looks like a healthy thin.... but that's just my opinion. :hippie:

Thank you so much for the advice. Right now I'm trying the "Lannah's Diet". I'm trying to cut out everything that I know is bad. Yeah, I'm 5'1 and 3/4" ish. :goodvibes I was a 5 at 125 and I still thought I was fat! I don't really think I could ever be a 0, but a 5 would be nice. My hips just aren't 0 hips. I'm 155 now and I wear an 8/10 dress, and between 10-12 pants. I think it really depends on the cut. About the 0 thing, I always say I'm a born anorexic with no will power. I'd really love to be a 0 (which is probably unhealthy) but food is just too good!

Hey, I love bike riding- of course, haven't went for years (this city isn't the nicest place to ride a bike!).

I did BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD yesterday. Let's just say- it involved German food and an unhealthy dinner too!

But that's okay! I'm giving myself one free day a week just to indulge- today, I'm back and have done my exercise and had my coffee! I know I shouldn't have a day to indulge- but that's how I get through the evenings without snacking- I think 'on THIS day, I'll have something GOOD'! Only problem is- I tried to cram EVERYTHING GOOD into one day :rotfl: .

Sigh!

My brother did that when he was younger and was very successful at staying thin even though he'd eat like a whole pizza on Saturday. He was on a VERY low calorie diet the rest of the week (maybe 1000 calories?) and it was mostly just protein shakes. I could never do that, because when I cheat on Monday, I end up cheating on Tuesday, and then on Thursday, and it takes a while to break the cycle.

I think I never answered the QOTD's.

I'm Rebecca, 27, mother of a 2-year-old. I successfully lost 35 pounds on LA weightloss and was 5 pounds from goal when we discovered I was pregnant with DD. So since I was dieting, I started on the un-diet and gianed 50 pounds! Of coures like 20 of that was baby, but I still managed to reach exactly my pre-diet pre-DD weight. Now I'd like to lose it again before we concieve DC #2, and this time I won't gain 50 pounds!!!

My goals for this week are to go for a walk 2 times. I don't exercise at all...I have an injured foot currently, but I think I can handle that. I'm not talking about a high speed super walk, just a walk with DD around the neighborhood.

Hi everyone!
I started doing Yoga in the mornings and at night! And so far I LOVE it!
I am going to a BBQ tonight, so it should be interesting to see how much I overeat! He is SUCH a good cook, its hard to say no when he is in the kitchen or at the grill.

STAY WITH IT LADIES!!!!!!!!!!! We can do this. We all have already made huge steps in changing the way we live! This stilly weight didn't appear overnight and it won't come off overnight. But if we stick with it, I KNOW we will all be alot healthier by the time September rolls around!

QOTD:
What is your weekend strategy?? If you stick with it, HOW do you stay motivated? OR do you slack off??

I TRY to keep going even through the weekends. That way if I slip up during the week, it isn't so bad because I know I will continue to exercise during the weekends too! But Saturday night Pizza is REALLy hard to resist! ;)

I am incredibly behind on this thread! I had no clue it was moving so fast!

My name is Jana and I am 36 years old. I'm not married, but if anyone knows any single men in Illinois, I'l looking! :) I don't have any children. I do have a cat named Dawson Bailey and a fish named Captain Jack.

I was born and raised in central Illinois. I currently work as a counselor for parents and children involved with DCFS. I am also researching and pondering starting my PhD.

I have been doing a "modified" weight watchers for two years and three months. I had lost 110 pounds at one point! Last Spring I injured the peroneus tendon in my foot. I was in walking boot in April, May, August and September then finally placed in a cast/wheelchair in November and December. This really stalled my weight loss. In fact, I have gained thirteen pounds since September. I really want to get back on track! My foot is supposedly healed, although I don't think it will ever be the same, so I am back at the gym, praying that will help.

My goals for this week:
1. Stay in my points everyday.
2. Drink my water.
3. Excercise some everyday.

I don't stay on track on the weekends. I would love to, but sitting around the house certainly lends itself to snacking.

To answer the final question, I would be more than willing to contribute 10 dollars. I also love the idea of monthly challenges! I need the motivation.

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm sorry this was so long--I'l have to do better at keeping up!
Thanks!

Thanks!
Jana

Hi, WDW1st-timers. I wish I could remember my secrets. While I was in the wheelchair, I lost them all. Seriously though, I just stayed in my points. I had one free day where I could eat chocolate, or pizza or chips, whatever I was craving, other than that I was strict.

Sorry I'm not much help. These last 40 pounds or so are killing me.

Guess what everyone....I'm going to go bike riding with my girls this weekend. I may look like an elephant on a peanut but oh well, I'll feel better when I do my weigh in next Friday.

Good for you Lannah !! It will be good to get out and get some exercise !! :cool1:

have fun Lannah!!! I just got back from my 3 5 minute walk... I am trying to trick my brain... only 5 minutes thats all... :rotfl:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Hi Rebecca  !! You will be able to get the rest of the weight off - you have been doing great so far !!

Ah, the week goals... You know- I think my goal this week will be to cut out junk carbs in the evening. If I want an evening snack this week, it will have to be FRUIT. No more crackers or candy/sweets. Fruit is much better for ya!

Evening snacking is my hardest !! :confused3 I really have the hardest time at night wanting to snack !! Maybe I need to make that one of my goals too !

But Saturday night Pizza is REALLy hard to resist! ;)

I apparently don't have a weekend strategy because so far today I have NOT been following my plan. I didn't exercise yesterday OR today, went out to lunch at Fatburger ( I did have a grilled chicken sandwich with nothing on it - but I think the Fat fries killed that) and tonight we are having pizza :scared1:

Tomorrow I will make sure I get out for a walk at least and make better choices :cool1:

Weekends and evenings are when I really need to buckle down and be hard on myself !!

Oh I had kind of a bad day yesterday...for breakfast I had a waffle with lt. cream cheese (on plan), lunch was a grilled chicken salad with lt. dressing (on plan), PM snack was a ferrio roche truffle (small, but off plan) and some pineapple, dinner was chicken and tortellinis (latter, off plan a little), PM snack was my healthy trail mix (on plan) and a soft serve ice cream cone (totally off plan). But what I'm really upset about is that I drank like 3 glasses of water all day!!!! I think I need to start spiking it with lemon or something, I just couldn't stomach it yesterday.

Don't worry....you'll be right back on track today and make up for the little set back you had. I've had moments of weekness too. It makes me work even hard next time around.

It's okay- I've had two bad days in a row. Friday was my free day- no problem. I was 'on track' yesterday until my Mom asked us to go to the Olive Garden for dinner. Now, I go with the thought "I'll eat good- I'll stay away from the breadsticks, etc".

DO I?

UH, heck no!

Sooo... I got home and guilt just jumped all over me- I did FORTY extra minutes on the elliptical- with 25 of those minutes on the highest setting! I felt like I was going to fall over when I was done!

Today, I'm back on track! I don't want to feel THAT guilty again :rotfl:

Mmmmm soup, salad, and bread sticks. I also would have to given in to that also. Last time I had the Olive Garden was on our way home from Disney in 2005.

See now the guilt is starting to set in. So that means that your diet should not fail you. Keep up the good work...Your doing great.

Well, I just got done getting in a good work out ! My parents took my kiddos today ( they usually do on Sundays) and I went with Dan to the gym then for a long walk.

I did the elliptical, bike, and then a long 30 minute walk.

Later this afternoon/evening I have a photo session at the park and it's a pretty large park so most likely afterwards I will go for another walk.

I am going to try hard to make it to my goal of exercising 500 minutes this moth - I might make it close.

Either way I am proud of myself because any month before this I was probably in a negative number for my exercise so I think 500 is GREAT !!

:cheer2: You really are doing great Lori... I have incorporated the 3- 5 minutes last week and this morning I made it to 4-5 minute walk... thats all I can add till the tightness in my chest goes away. I had gone to my primary to have it check and she said that I do have to do it gradually since I had vegiated for so long but she is happy I had a wake up call since my heart my not make it till next year if I keep on doing what I have been doing.. work and eat... I also stop working doubles.. so I work 1 shift everyday now unless someone calls out at nite.. which is a good thing .. less stress for this obese heart! :thumbsup2
