Anyone have any pictures of the Golf cart parade in the Fort? Want to make sure we do it justice.

I've heard of this parade but never actually seen it. Can you give us some more info on what it's all about?

What we have been told : On the 4th of July specifically, and apparently at other times during the year, they have a golf cart parade @ the Fort. I believe it is roughly 10 am. Have heard it goes through the main road in the Fort. Trying to get more info/details/ picures of it. Apparently they award prizes for best cart, decorations, etc. Also think they do a bike parade with it, and the staff decorate a cart as well.

It usually starts on the main road at the hitching/unhitching strip on the right side facing the marina. It goes all the way down to the marina and that is where they give out the prizes. We were in it two years ago, but last year decided to sit on the side and enjoy the whole parade. The staff did make a couple of carts and all the carts were great. Last year the staff at the bike barn asked my kids to take pictures for them with disposable cameras and if they brought the cameras back to the barn, they would get a prize. They took pictures of all the carts and they received free rides on the mouse boats.!

The time it starts is usually 10 am. There is also a guy that walks the parade while playing the bagpipes. The best thing is he practices for a couple of days and he is so cool!:thumbsup2

Thanks for the info. Glad someone has actually been there to see it so we can actually confirm some of what we were told.

One night when we were there some months back, a parade of sorts seemed to 'break out'. Dozens of carts, some decorated with various lights, with horns honkin' and people yelling were driving all over the place. There seemed to be no route, as they snaked through loops, then back out onto the main road. From what I could gather from those zipping by, it was like a conga line, with folks joining in as it went.
