I broke down and bought a cricut and I am so happy! I took DS to Wally world to get his hair cut and pick up a few items last night and had to take a walk through the scrapbook aisle. Two days ago when I looked at these they were $199 here and at JoAnne's and I passed them by but I couldn't walk by again. Not as good as the Michael's deal the other week (they're now selling ti for $299 - WTH?)

I've been playing with it all day and it is too cool!

I LOVE mine. I did a bunch of swap stuff this weekend and it helped make it easy peasy!

How easy is the Cricut to use? I have never seen it live, or used any die cut other then the Sizzlits mini machine. But i found it sooooo tedious to make the small alphas that i got frustrated with it. Will i be able to use the Cricut with ease. Do you use it like paper piecing, and cut out each paper color individually? I went to cricut site but not able to see a step by step

disneyfan2 it is so easy to use. The hardest part for me was getting the blade in when I set it up for the first time, and that still only took a few minutes. The cart that comes with it doesn't have any paper piecing but you can do shadows so those would be in a different color.

Thanks, i would like to invest and get the Disney set, but because i never seen it in action, wondered how you get the different colors..face, hands, cloths etc. I have never tried paper piecing YET but wondered if this would fall in the same lines, just having it cut with the machine :confused3

It's exactly like you described, disneyfan2! You just change out the paper colors and cut each part (they're different "functions" on the cartridge). The book also shows you a breakdown for each possibility to show you what cuts what part, if that makes sense. The first one I tried went a little hinky, but once I figured out that it helped to actually READ the instructions, it is pretty easy to do! :)
