I was on TGM this am and there is talk of another bounceback promotion. Here is the quote...

"Again it was just one cast member saying this and from what he was alluding to was that Disney was going to offer the Bounce Back during the Free Dinning time period for booking for the next year around Aug- Sept 2008."

Has anyone heard this yet? How about some input from the experts?

They could certainly do that - but full priced rates and packages won't be announced likely for a couple of months. I'd not speculate on what discounts might be offered for a year and a half from now, it's really early.

I'm not sure "how successful" bounceback was for WDW this past year. I'm sure it got some interest, but I thought the idea was handled very poorly and the overal "execution" of the plan was disorganized. I like the idea of it though!

If there is talks of "bounceback free dinning" than I expect to see it released this September, potentially while free dinning is going on this year.

It's an interesting thought!

I'd heard it was more successful than expected. But who knows? (Disney!)

I don't see why not. They offered a similar kind of thing back in 2003. It doesn't have to generate tons of responses for it to be worthwhile...if they can start filling rooms a year in advance, it's a good thing...if they can begin projecting numbers of bookings a year in advance...then it's to their advantage. One more person booked with Disney means one less person who might book somewhere else, or not at all. ;) pirate:

The bounceback promo let people staying at a WDW resort during a certain period (can't remember when) book their next trip (again, during a certain period, around late august to september I believe?) at a discounted rate. Ya, I'm like no help lol!

Did this mean they would be offering it during free dining 2007 to lure people back for free dining 2008?

It would certainly take away all the drama and anxiety all of us non-UK/Bounce Backers went through this year! :rotfl:

Of course, could Disney really handle giving us a whole year to call back multiple times and change dates, resorts, etc? :rotfl2:

We stayed at POR this past November and the "bounceback promo" was going on. I believe you had to book your next trip for this fall. I don't think the promo specifically said "free dining", but we figured out that the discount was about the same as what the DDP would have cost us.

Yeah; I hope this is true.

I listened to Mary (from a Disney savings site) on a pod cast last week say that Disney has said that the Free DDP is by far one of their most successful promotion they have, as far as getting guests to book and make commitments. She also said that Disney has offered guests other larger more money saving promotions, but none have been as popular as the Free DDP promotion.

It's also our second year and would book again for 08 if it was offered!

Off topic, triplefigs were you there the last week of Sept. last year? I think we were behind you guys at MNSSHP during the Villians Mix and Mingle. I don't know why I remember things like that but I do.

Yes, we were there Sept 23-30. Went to the 9.29 MNSSHP and the last Villains Mix and Mingle. Here's a picture of the kids that night at the Meet. I was dressed as Wendy Darling and DH as John Darling in the nightgown and tophat.

Too funny! PM me a picture so I can see you. They were WIRED that night, and we flew home the next day. We met one of their best friends at the party who now lives in FL. It was a great night. Can't wait to go back this Sept, but now I have to think of a new set of costumes.

We'd definitely book again if they did that! Not sure if it's true or not, but I think we'll make sure we have an extra $200 for a deposit when we're there *just in case*. Otherwise we'll probably be waiting a few years to come back.

Man, I hope the rumor mill is as dead-on about this as it was about the available dates and booking dates for this year's free DDP offer. We were there last year for 10 night thanks to free dining, 14 nights this year because of free dining, and will book another 14 nights for next year in a heartbeat. Bring on the 3H's (heat, humidity and hurricanes)--as long as we've got free dining!

Everyone would like to know this. I think the BBP will be back, when it will be offered would be anyone's guess. I'm not booking my flight yet based on one CMs views. But I'm sure that we will read it here first on the disboards. Last year I missed the booking time by one week as we returned home the end of October. My timing was not good last year, and I'm not sure it's any better this year. My 07 trips are April/May 2 weeks, mid-August 10 days (missed the 40% off and missed the free dining because dates are 15-24), then we are there the last two weeks of October. If history repeats itself, we will miss the bounce back again. I crunched the numbers and by the time we pay to fly down, pay for a room for one or two nights and eat (we have APs), the savings of purchasing the BBP would not exist for us because a 2 night trip would cost $500 minimum just to book the BBP and save money. I think they should just contact frequent travelers via mail to offer this promotion as they do on cruises and not have it tied to a certain time.

if they did this. We have been the past 2 Augusts (free dining both times) and we are going this August (21-28) and missing the free dining :sad1: (but we are paying for it anyway). I did have a discount to use but if I had not, DH would not have gone back. I am also going again in September (6-11) with my parents and we will have free dining then. :cloud9: I hope they offer a bounceback during either of those trips - I would be ALL OVER IT! :woohoo: My DD turns 15 in June so I need (no, MUST) make trips in 2008 & 2009 before she hits the 18 year old mark. At least that is what I tell DH......"Honey, we may as well go the next few years in a row because once she hits 18 it will just cost even more money"! Little does he know..I"ll still be going back anyway!:rotfl2: I would have to be in VERY bad shape to not go back to my happy spot! Hope they offer it!!!

This is probably a silly question, but, if you book it, you can cancel it like any other reservaton right? If they offered it when I am down there this August, I would love to book it and then have a year to convinve my husband to go back the next year.

UGH. Not fair. I can't go during the free dining times this year...and so it will be a double whammy if they do a bounce back for those customers...and I have to miss that as well. Our trip is mid-Aug this year (would have been on the 2005 and 2006 free dining dates).

My husband are going in Aug for our Anniversary and then my whole family (brothers/kids ) is going back again next August so I'm thinking it would be wonderful if this was offered when we are there at the end of Aug. But haven't really seen if you are able to book more than one room. Curious???:confused3

NOW I have to plan on taking an EXTRA $200 for bounceback vacation deposit, THANKS A LOT:lmao: :lmao:

Seriously, THANKS you all for this info..JUST IN CASE I now have to budget an extra $200, so needless to say, YES, I'd book it in a heartbeat!! Please let the rumor be true!!:surfweb:

It was one room per adult on the reservation.

We would book also. Aug 2005, I tried to get DH to go more than 4 days. 4 days was our standard trip. Not enough for me. He was balking about 5 days being too many and it would be too hot. I tried to tell him, it says dining is free!!!. He still relectantly agreed to fd trip but said this is our absolute last WD trip...

Well, Aug 05, he saved every reciept and totaled up our savings as almost $900. We stayed one night at Poly without Free dining for a total of 5 ni. He was so thrilled. See dancing dad in my signiture. :dancer: Aug 06 he not only agreed to 10 days but it was his idea. When I asked him about his concerns over heat and Thunder storms etc. He stated that everything is airconditioned any way...

So now we are going down for our 3rd FD trip. You guessed it, 10 days again. This time we are bringing the entire extended family.

They didn't last year. If you wanted more than one room (even if you needed to the kiddies) you couldn't book it unless there were 2 adults. However, some folks reported that they were able to book several rooms, but the majority of folks said they were limited to one room per adult.
I thought it was a little strange doing it this way, especially since not all families are alike, but it was a pilot program, so the rules were new. All we can do is wait and see, but I'm thinking it will be offered during Nov/Dec like last year.

I'm not sure "how successful" bounceback was for WDW this past year. I'm sure it got some interest, but I thought the idea was handled very poorly and the overal "execution" of the plan was disorganized. I like the idea of it though! I don’t think it was handled or executed poorly (not arguing, just presenting my perspective).

In 2006, it was a test program. BounceBack was advertised only at counters in the lobbies of two resorts and on stand-up cards (forget the ‘industry’ term) in the Guest rooms of two other resorts. While staying in a Disney resort, Guests at those resorts who saw the advertising, as well as Guests at other resorts who were aware of the promotion, were able to book it either in person at one of the booths, or by calling the number on the card.

I believe I’ve read it was more successful (i.e. higher response) than Disney expected (and so probably part of the reason that Free Dining for the general public is shorter than usual.

If Disney repeats the BounceBack promotion, it likely would not be bookable during the Free Dining period this year. After all, they already have a reasonable idea that many of us would come back around the same time next year.

I'm hoping it is offered the same way as last year. We aren't planning Disney for 2008, but the bounceback free dining would probably be enough to convince DH to do a quick trip for DD's August birthday. :goodvibes :goodvibes

I hope they do offer the bounce back promotion during this year free DDP time period. If they do I for one would most likely upgrade to a deluxe resort, because that would give me a whole year to plan and to pay for it. If they keep offering the free DDP promotion it in the spring with less than 6 months to plan and pay for it, I will continue to stick with the moderates or values resorts.

ok, Debbie Downer.

Oh, well, you're entirely welcome :)

Somebody wanted to know where the BounceBack promo was advertised. After reading several threads http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1295699&referrerid=&highlight=bounceback
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1293169&referrerid=&highlight=bounceback
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1295703&referrerid=&highlight=bounceback about it, I found a post naming the 'test' resorts:
“Unless you are staying at one of the featured resorts (POP, POR, CR, or Beach Club) or are a DIS member, you would probably not know about the bounce back program. Part of the test pilot is only advertising in those select resorts (There is no advertising about it in any of the other resorts) so that is why no one knew what you were talking about at All Stars. This is part of the testing phase, so you can not be upset for getting the run around since your original resort was not part of the bounce back program.”

Nov 5th through the 25th. it was offered with free dining for august and sept. FD starting on Aug.5th.
