? about upgrading at check-in with discount

Does anyone know...if I have a discounted ressie (40% off) and I want to upgrade my room when I check in (that's if I can save up some pennies to do that between now and Dec) would I still get the discount on the upgrade or would I be charged the difference between the discounted room rate and the rack rate of the upgraded room? :confused3

I had an AP discount at AK in Feb. I changed my room when I checked in & the only charged the difference based on the AP rate.

Same thing with us. We had an AP discount at AKL for a standard room and I was able to upgrade to a pool view for an extra $10/night.

Thanks! I was hoping that would be the case. I don't think I could justify the expense if it would be rack rate (staying at AKL) - probably couldn't save up the $$ either! :scared1:
