My parents are celebrating their 40th Anniversary this fall.

We're having a party:goodvibes
I'm going to be really brave, and make the cake:scared:
But I need to do a test run or two first:)

And I've never gone beyond the kids birthday cake, never done fondant, flowers or anything like that...but I do want to try.

I thought about doing the stacked thing with foam, and make a sheet cake to cut/serve..does that make sense?

It's going to have to travel 6 hours by car...so decorating the foam could be done before at my house, travel, and then I could make the cut/serve cake at my mom and dad's a day or two before...

Any suggestions/pictures/websites/books for how-to flowers, (mom's fav are yellow roses), or anything for a cake newbie! I found this on Wilton..

Thanks!
