Pop Century Pictures

Everyone is always asking for pictures of things at Pop, so I thought we could start a Pop only picture thread. It's so hard to go through the resort thread and the resort room thread to find the pictures of just the one hotel you want.
So anyone who has pictures of Pop, post them here inside and out for all to see.:banana:

I just want to add that please keep this to a picture thread, and direct questions to the Grooviest New Pop thread.

Also please make you pictures an appropriate size. Small ones are impossible to see, and ones that are larger than the screen also make it hard to see. Also some still use dial up modems and large pictures take longer to load. Don't forget to flip pictures over that need to be as well. Hard to see them sideways as well!

They are actually the ghosts of people lost in It's a Small World! Or maybe it was because the picture is a time exposure.

thanks for this thread! it's GREAT...I just switched from ASMo to POP -

ASMo was our first choice and then I was talking to my four year old and asking him which he would like better - the big buzz and woody or the goofy fountains (and I showed him pictures of both) - he said, can we go IN the goofy fountain? I said yes. He said, "I want the one with the goofy fountain." I said, "are you sure...we won't get to go see the big buzz and woody?"

He said, "can we go walk by it?" I said, "probably not, but we can MEET buzz and woody at Disney world." He said, "I want the goofy fountains". So we were able to switch...now just hoping we can get our first three nights moved over (we're doing a 3 night package then a 13 night package).

My son and I'll have to take pictures next to 1968 and 1991 in August.
I've never seen the lake or the bridge. I had no idea you could see the WDW resort sign from the resort.

Just told my kids Saturday that we are going to Disney in August and staying at POP! I showed them this thread and they just fell in love with this resort! I asked if they would want to stay at one of the moderates and my daughter said no way I quote " mom the other resorts look to grown up! Pop is looks more like a place for kids and more like Disney." FUJI, not sure which one it was, we have several. My guess it was my A340 but I think that is now discontinued. My son just got a nice one, A700 7.3 mp and it takes awesome photos. Only about $150 and a great camera. We have 4 Fuji and I love them. They use regular batteries and their cards have greater capacity. Have had some great photos with them.

Next trip I am taking my new big boy Nikon D50 SLR and I'll see how the photos compare. Oh, but I'll have my Fuji in my back pocket too ;)

That is because it is on the back side of 70's building #10. If you had no reason to go back there then you would not have seen it. My room was right above the playground and I did not see alot of kids using it.

Karebear I swore to myself that I would take pictures of just everything, because when I came home from both previous trips and even with all the images on the internet, I still wanted more, you know? Still, I haven't the food court :sad2: . I guess we were always busy getting the food..we love our food ::yes::! However, I did get a shot of my DBF in the dining area of the food court. Here he is and it's probably about 9:00 or 9:30 on Dec. 8 of last year. The place was crowded as you can see but we still had a blast! The Christmas music they piped in was really a nice touch :).

Great thread! I've been on the fence about where to stay for our next trip. After these pictures and the "Disney Magic" thread, my decision is made. We're going to Pop, baby! :banana: :cool1: 15 months from now. How will I survive the wait????? These pictures will help... keep them coming, they're awesome!

Okay then I've a few more, all from our first trip in 2004. The place hasn't changed except for perhaps what is for sale in the Everything Pop gift shop.

Here is the front of the resort where you line up to get the bus to a park or to Downtown Disney. Please excuse the slant and instead try to imagine the music, because it's there and it's upbeat and wonderful :goodvibes ! We always try to pay attention to the song playing when we arrive. On our second trip it was Hanson "Um Bop" I think it's called. On our last trip it was Bing Crosby's "White Christmas" :) Way to set the mood for our Christmas trip!

This is Kev in the gift shop. I wish I bought that phone but I was probably tapped out! See the doors in the back of the shop? What we did every morning was have a look see in the gift shop, then go through those doors and the buses are right there! We came in the same way every day too, often exhausted but very happy!

Lastly here is one of the many windows we passed by that the kids or perhaps CM's had filled with the children's toys. So sweet! The reason I love the Pop is that it is just so family friendly, and it really adds to the great atmosphere of the place.

:welcome: to the DIS! Be sure to check out the Groovy New Pop Century FAQ thread. Lots of good info there. But to quickly answer your ? - I think your 10 & 12 yos will love POP! My now 12yo DGD has been going with me since her 10th BD and she loves it. She likes the arcade and loves to pool hop to all 3 pools. Also, ping-pong, Twister, face-painting, pizza delivery and frozen cokes. :cloud9: Have fun!

We love it though and before our first trip I was advised that the 50's area was the quiet section of the resort so now I'm almost afraid to book anywhere else. Once even, when I checked us in I mentioned to the cheeky CM that I had requested it because I'd heard it was quieter there and she said yeah, that they try to book people like me in there (?!) :eek:. :rotfl:.

:rotfl: I've only been to Pop twice but stayed in 50s both times and loved it. I've booked for November and requested 60's lakeside.:eek: I'm also planning on taking my DS for his 7th birthday in January 08 and he wanted to stay in the 80's for Roger Rabbit and I said no so now he wants 70's.:scared1:

Funny thing I KNOW in my head that I'd really be happy anywhere once I got there. :laughing:

When I went to ASMo I requested Dalmations or Toy Story (before they were prefered) and got Herbie. I was really disappointed at check in but we ended up LOVING it there and I would request it if I went back. But I've got to choose Pop for the Frozen Coke.;)

Is the twister area soft in case, I mean when you fall?


I think it was the cushiony material they use in many of the play areas but I'm not 100% on that.
