A lot of great pics are still showing up on this thread. Our next WDW trip will be in May 09 and we will be staying at Pop again. We were trying to decide between POP and POFQ and once we did the calculations, POFQ was about $737.60 or so more than POP. So POP it is. Plus we love Pop, we don't spend that much time as the resort. and Pop has been so good to us over our last 4 stays. :hippie:

I was wondering if someone can post a picture of the fridge that you can rent from Pop. I tried skimming through this thread to see if I could find a picture, but didn't find one.

I'm trying to decide whether to rent a fridge, sign up for a fridge swap or do without for the week.

Okay we didnt get a fridge but I thought I would put my 2 cents in, lol. We went and did NOT get a fridge, and if it would have been just hubby and I or with older kids, we would have been fine. BUT.... we had my 4 yr old who is addicted to milk, so we use almost ALL of our snack credits for small carton of milks.

This time, we are on fridge swap! LOL

Declansdad: Agreed! I've loved your photos of Pop at night too. How do you get those great photos? Do you use a tripod or unipod or do you just use Night portrait settings?

They told me that pro photographers were required to have a permit. Funny! I'm shooting a Rebel XTi DSLR. I'll remember to have my room key handy and my Pop Century T-shirt!

Our new resort pictures will be from POFQ. It looks very nice but it doesn't seem as photogenic as Pop.

I was thinking they had to be cricut cut outs, since they were different sizes. I could only HOPE to get my HD MH to look this great on a window! LOL

They are window clings! I found 8x10 sheets in different colors at Michael's. I used a Mickey cookie cutter as a pattern for the big ones and a Home depot Mickey head for the little ones. So glad you liked it!!

Thsi site brought back so many fond memories of our 1st trip that we stayed on site. I love the POP, it was great, I want to visit agian next summer and I will be stayign at POP!:thumbsup2

I love it! Will never give it up, but recently got a DSLR. A Canon XTi and can't wait to see what it can do at WDW. Though I will still have the Sony with me.

Check out the Photography Board for more examples, suggestions and advise. They are very helpful over there.

I am so excited!! We are leaving for WDW and POP this next sunday, June 29. There will be 17 of us with 5 rooms total. We are booked in preferred, and Pop called last week to confirm everything and start blocking our rooms. I may call this week to see if we can be on first floor near dippy pool. That would be my preference after looking at all these pictures.

I have so appreciated the chance to see these pics and have abetter idea of what to look for and plan. Although I have stayed here before it was for a very short 2 day trip. I am looking forward to enjoying this resort as a whole.

Are you listed as a GG? As they do have areas they put GG's in but as you have preferred it has to be 50,60 or 70's as they are only preferred sections !!

Since we counting LOL Just a little more than a month for me we are a sml GG 9 in total requested ground floor 50's bld 1 facing the pool....hope we are lucky....will be calling DISNEY tommorrow to add my Mom and Sisters ME info to there ressies so will double check that all ressies have the right request

We will be staying at the Pop Aug 3 - 10, 2008. All the pictures on here have already helped me find my way around.

I am interested in findng out more about the window decorating. Do alot of the guess participate and does the resort mind?

Not all, not some of the die-hard WDW fans (like us) who will be staying multiple nights usually do some decorating. I used to work at the AS Sports and would see ALOT of window decorations.

The resort doesn't mind as long as the guest takes the decorations down upon check out and that it doesn't damage the window area. :yay:

Yes we are registered as a grand gathering. Although all of the things they do for GG are totally booked. But I'm sure we have more than enough to keep us busy.

I just finished making welcome bags and t-shirts for everyone yesterday. Today I am working on mickey signs to hang in our windows.

We are planning on staying at POP next year, so it was great to see all these pictures. DD saw POP on the TV recently, and loved how colorful it is and love all the decorations. Are the rooms really small?

I think they are like regular motel rooms. If you are ok with space at a Howard Johnson or Days Inn, you'll be fine here. They are kinda small, but fine for us since all we do is sleep and shower there.

I'm sorry, I guess you have a point. But I really feel this was not neccesary.
The majority of post here are pics with some discussion. I do not see the harm in it at all.

I have been posting here on the DIS for over 6 years. And it's all about discussing our love for all things Disney. Whether it be with pics or discussion. It's all fun and relaxed. Can we keep it that way without becoming "Thread police"?

Same here. My DW and I love getting up early and walking around Pop before the sun comes up. It's very beautiful and very quiet. We love it. :cloud9:

I don't know if it's always been there but it isn't really wood. The cement is made up to look like the lane or alley.

I'm still hoping for pictures of the locker and shower area in the pool-side buildings so I can include it in Post #1 of the Groovier Pop FAQ thread. I think there might be someone there right now who has it on their list, but in case they don't get a chance, it would be great to have another potential backup! :)

And I've taken quite a few pics of our room and POP in general. We have a handicap accessable room and it had a fridge with it. Didn't have to ask for one. I love these rooms because of the nice big walk in shower. Love it! And the fridge is a plus.

I'll try to get pics posted when I get home.

This is not fair. All of these pictures are getting me excited for our trip and it is not until aug2009. What area would be the best to request to have a great view of the lake. I know we want the fourth floor but am not sure which building. I was kind of thinking possibly 50,60,or70??? and maybe any of them are good. Not concerned with any walking distance because we are on vacation and have all the time in the WORLD for 13 days. ;)

My son goes crazy:jumping3: every time he sees a pic from the POP resort-he sees glimpses of the Pop here and on the travel channel, the internet, and the planning dvds...he has made his request known--we MUST stay at that hotel when visiting "Mickey's House" in Sept. He is only three but he sure does know what he wants!

Wow! on the laundry room. I had no idea. I figured it was going to be more like a small room with maybe 2 washers and 2 dryers. Room for just one person. Looks much better than I'd imagined. I should've known that Disney does things :thumbsup2

They were nice and had room for plenty of people. The only one that had people in it while I was taking pictures was the one at the Hippy Dippy pool. I just waited until they were out of the picture to shoot.

I found the rest of the pictures I took, and these include the lockers, showers, and types of soap products available. These are at the Hippy Dippy pool.

Oh, MeMom, you've made my day! Our flight got delayed so we're just gonna hang out at the Hippy Dippy our last day. I wasn't feeling too great about only having the shower room to change and get ready for our flight. But after looking at your great pics, I think we'll survive! :thumbsup2

We had a great trip! Check out the Magic Camel link in my signature for tons of pictures from it in the days ahead.

That is weird about the date. I guess they were fishing for something Disney to put on the sign, and since it was so late in the year 95, they decided to credit most of its viewing to 96 or something to that effect.

On a related note, we rode the new Toy Story Midway Mania ride, and it was fun. I had more fun taking pictures and my daughter had fun competing with her husband for points. It is a cute ride with great theming, and I'll be showing a lot of pictures of it from entrance to end.

Maybe released means to VHS in 1996?

Toy Story was released on VHS and LaserDisc on October 15, 1996.

We were fortunate to get one room early, so we put all of our things in that one and headed to Magic Kingdom. I'd love to be sitting out by the kiddie pool watching my baby (granddaughter) splash around right now!

I can't wait to get to Pop next month and actually get to see the resort! We stayed here 2 years ago and really only saw our building (70's by the Goofy jets) and Century Hall...I had no idea that it offered so much! We never took the time to take it all in! Thanks for all of the pictures!

Halloween is an awesome time to go but I can't answer your question because we stayed at the Beach Club Villas when we went at Halloween I don't recall them being decorted but all the parks were it was so cool and I would go again over halloween in a heart beat!!

We haven't talked about any decorating. It is just dw and I this time, no Declan. (be very quiet, he doesn't know). Are you decorating?

We requested Jamaica when we switched from POFQ. We switched when the August codes came out because of the better deal.

We arrive on Monday :)
