Gotta Love it !!! If I had been 21, I would have not uploaded that photo (with the tampons), but since I am 38, it does not phase me at all now. :rotfl: I thought everyone would appreciate the bathroom photo. These are becoming a very common pest in Florida. It's the Brown Garden Snail. We have TONS of them down here in Palm Beach Co. They are actually very common as escargot. However, you can't just pluck them out of the garden and cook them up because they frequently eat plants that are toxic to humans. The way they are prepared for escargot is usually in captivity. They eat lots of decorative plants and flowers. I'm sure Disney is enjoying the influx of these new little beasties...not. If you can stand doing so just crush them. You'll be doing Disney's gardeners and maintenance a favor. :flower3:

We spent ten days this summer right in that first picture. We had the fourth and fifth rooms down, right there on the bottom floor behind the tree and right at the bottom of the dancer man's legs.

Pop also has apple juice in the refill mug which is nice and they also have some sort of lemonaide in the soda fountain as well.

Yes. Every room opens to the outside and has a window near the door. One thing people use for Christmas decorating in their window are using a string of Christmas lights. Keep in mind the door is metal, so magnets work well on the doors!

I didn't get to go to WDW today, but I was in Leesburg, FL today and it was 89 degrees! Definitely good enough to swim!! When I was outside, I was wishing I was swimming!! Have a great trip!

Right now on Long Island it's 33 :eek: so I will be bringing our suits. I've been told that Disney keeps the pools at 80 so it may be a little chilly when we get out but we never get to swim here in NY in Dec. :) The parks close a little early so my 12 y/o son will be very happy.

I am very happy to say that we'll be going back in another 4 weeks, as well, so I'll come back with more pictures. We're staying at All Star Music this time, because we want to stay at every Disney resort in time. Even when we don't stay at Pop, though, we still go visit to take pictures, shop, and eat.

I hope everyone is enjoying this first day of December. I've got the TV on abcFamily Christmas movies as I decorate the house. The candles are glowing beautifully and smelling great. The cat is quite happy exploring all the new things that are out. When the boys get in from work, they'll be greeted with the sights and sounds of Christmas. I hope all of you have a great day!

I think it will be hard for it to compete with Pop in my heart, though, because I have this sort of emotional bond there. Pop was our first on-site resort, and it was for such a fabulous and much needed vacation. I left there just determined never to stay off-site again, and feeling that Pop was just a really comfortable fit for us. If I get that same feeling at any other resort (I can only do value, with my finances) then I may change my mind, but for now, Pop is my favorite.

I promise I will come back and give you a very fair opinion, though, and tell you the goods and bads and differences as I see it, if that will help you.

Thanks. We had a lot of fun and our trip was as good as we hoped. The X-mas decorations and festivites were awesome and Pop was great as always. With the New England weather I doubt we'll travel to WDW during that time of year again, but we're glad we did it at least once.

I stayed in the 90's section. Rooms 8154 and 8155 and found this to be a nice quiet location. It was a short walk across the parking lot to the buses and food court and right around the corner from the computer pool. I guess this would be considered a 'garden' or 'parking lot' view.....

Hi!

We stayed at POP for 10 days last July. We were in room 4140 in the 60s building. My parents were in the room right next to us. I cannot tell you how highly I recommend this location!!! It was literally no more than 2 minutes from our door to the main pool, and maybe 3 minutes the other direction to the bowling pin pool (which we never used). The food court was maybe a minute or so past the main pool.

What was so amazing about our room is that the view and our "front yard" made us feel like we were in a fancy resort all by ourselves! Due to the location, we rarely saw anyone passing our room. Each day we were greeted by a wide variety of cool wildlife, which we had lots of fun taking pictures of!

I also found this pop-up hamper (Wal-Mart) to be very handy! I could carry it right to the laundry room and it even had a pouch on the side for change/soap/etc... It folded flat for travel.

Finally, if you stay there, don't miss feeding the fish and turtles from the bridge - our boys LOVED this! (Note: there is a bench there, be careful as kids naturally want to stand on it and then look over into the water. It made me nervous!) We brought pieces of bread and saltine crackers.

Here is something a little different for my Pop POTD.

I don't have pics, but we went through Grand Gatherings and asked for 4 rooms, two connecting (our immediate family of Dh, I and our 7 kids - one under 2), near Classic Hall/Food Court/Bus Stop, and near the parking lot (we drove).
We ended up in the Lady Building, in 1154/1155 (connecting), 1156, and 1157. The location was GREAT! We were only a few rooms away from the preferred section, without paying for preferred.
The Bowling Pin Pool was on the other side of the bldg, and therefore the laundry was only around a corner.

It was really quiet and we really recommend this location.
The last time we were behind the jukebox, two rooms back, and we liked that too, but this was even closer.

I wouldn't worry as much about requesting a specific room. Figure out what your priorities are, request them, and Grand Gatherings is excellent at figuring out how to fullfill them.
And don't wait until your ressie has been transferred to Pop or to fax (which you can do as back up, but I've never done it.)
Make sure you have your requests in when you make your original ressie.

I think there were some issues related to the server upgrade last Friday night that may be causing this. I stopped getting them also. There are a couple of threads around where the MODS say they are aware of the issue.

I have a Canon Rebel XTi too. I love mine. But haven't had a chance to take it to Disney yet!
I think you can only do the photos at the parks. I don't remember seeing one at Pop. I'm sure there are threads about it, but not sure. Maybe check the photography section. I'm not sure of the cost either.

I don't get those. They were filling up my e-mail. After I sign in I just click on User CP and all the threads that I have subscribed to, that have new replies since I was last signed on, show up. That is easier I think.

May? May should be PLENTY warm to swim. I think it's usually pretty hot then, not like July/Aug/Sept, but warm.

You should be fine swimming in May. The pools are heated and my kids swam every night we were down there in December. I suspect the weather in Florida will be pretty nice come May. :)

As you can see from my sig, my DW and I usually visit WDW in May. Usually during the 1st week. And to answer your question, it will be warm enough to swim. The last 4 years, it has been 85-92 degrees everyday and some days were very humid. The pools are kept at mid 80's. The only time it felt a little chilly was late night swimming when it got done to the mid 70's because the water temp was warmer than the air temp.

Oh, good! Now I know that if the boys tire out from the park, we can go back to the resort for a bit and lounge at one of the pools without fear of getting chilled. I was worried about that.

Well I must say, after staying at POP in Dec, ALL of the pictures due the resort justice. What a wonderful place to stay if you want to save a little money. We were next to the green yo-yo on the 4th floor facing the pool. Just awesome! Thank you to all that have taken the time to post!

We just returned from a week on the Magic with a couple of days at Pop afterward, and I think it might be our new favorite resort. What a fun place!! I got lots of pics, but thought I would share these three. They're of the abandoned "Legendary Years" resort across the lake, and wow was it creepy to see. They built this beautiful, elegant bridge from the Classic Years, and it just dead-ends at nothing. It is such a contrast, then, to see dead trees and overgrown weeds around brown husks of buildings... especially when steps behind me it was so green and lush and tropical. And it was so quiet... It was downright spooky.

Glad you enjoyed Pop!! The Legendary Years is really haunted looking, isn't it? What a waste of lovely scenery. IMO if they weren't going to finish it, why build it in the first place! It definitely detracts from the Classic Years.
