Well, I'm down to double digits - 92 days!!! Exactly three months! September 14 is our arrival day (and today is June 14!!) All of these pictures make me want to go even more...it'll be here before we know it!

I have three months to get used to my NEW digital camera - gotta work on those night pictures too ;) since you are saying how cool Pop looks at night!

I totally agree. Walking the path along the lake at night is really quiet and with all the colours and lights, it just makes you want to take pictures.

Thank you one and all for posting great pix of POP...my dgf & i recently were weighing our options for where to stay on our upcoming trip (we'll be down for free dining in early sept), and this thread made us want to switch from ASMo (where we originally booked our trip) to POP when it had some rooms free up about a week after we'd booked our trip. It looks like it'll be a great place to stay scenicly, and we hope to have many many pix to share with you when we get back!

The best viewing of the space shuttles are from Bldg 3 on the east end and on the 4th floor. For those who don't east from west:lmao: :lmao: , that would be the end of the bldg away from the pool and facing the guard shack. We had a beautiful shot of the shuttle back on the 8th from that floor.

The pictures are definitely helping us get in the mood to go. This will be our first stay at Pop Century so we're hoping it will be a lot of fun. We'll be there in September as well as the multitudes of others from the boards. I've also seen that some people decorate their windows, as I noted a thread for that somewhere else, but it sounds like fun so we are going to participate in that this go around. It's the third trip for me and the fourth trip for my wife, and the first trip for the baby to be. :goodvibes

Yes it is the entrance to the Classic Hall from the Hippy Dippy pool area. There is a door off to the right that enters directly into the food court and the main doors enter next to the arcade.

It really stands out at night.

I have been lucky with the night shots. I have never taken a tri-pod with me. For my fireworks shots, I used the stroller as ledge to try and steady the camera. This time I am taking a real tri-pod and the shots will probably be terrible.

I just wanted to say THANKS! to everyone for the pics!! I just found this board a few days ago. This trip will be the first for my 14-year old son. I haven't been in about 17 years. I am SO EXCITED. I don't think my son quite gets the "magic of Disney." I keep showing him the guidebooks, web pages and pictures. He will probably burst with excitement on the airplane (A FIRST FOR HIM ALSO!).

I'm glad you like the pictures. I have seen some fantastic pictures throughout this board so I'm always happy when someone says they enjoy mine as well.

The building you see in that picture would be the main building for the unfinished section of Pop. There are two or three other buildings that that were started as well. You don't see any of them (if I remember correctly) unless you are looking over the lake and standing on one of the upper floors. I don't think of them as an eye-sore but it is a litle strange to see something like this at Disney.

Pop is a great place to stay. It isn't as big as it seems and it is a very vibrant place. The colours really jump out at you, especially at night. The other bonus is that you never share busses. :thumbsup2

Thank you, I'm glad you like them.

All the picture of Pop and the rest of the 2005 trip pictures were taken with a HP Photosmart C812 camera. The 2004 trip pictures that are in my Photobucket album were taken with a Kodak EasyShare camera. This trip I have an Olympus SP310 camera. I hope that the pictures turn out as well as the older ones.

When you get up close it does look like a ghost town :eek:! It will be strange when they finally get around to completing them to stay there, but I plan too and I can't wait! Hopefully a good portion will be family suites, and hopefully they will be completed soon. I think they will be, what with the huge new development over by DTD. Disney wouldn't just leave these sitting around if they feel they need thousands more resort rooms? Hopefully?

When I saw this picture the first thing that came to mind was joy as I spied the new styled refillable mug :), then I felt like a nut! It does look nice and big, although I wish it still said 'Pop' on it. We had to throw away :eek: our last two at the airport as we couldn't fit them in our bag, and we had more at home and now I regret it!

Also, SPJammer I noticed your daughter has a few bracelets on, are those from a water park perhaps or a special event?

We will have to wait to hear from SPJammer herself, but I dont' think that mug is the refillable one. I have that same mug, it was a one day use only at Blizzard Beach when we were there a few years ago (2004 maybe?). It had a sticker/paper barcode on it to use at the refill stations at the water park. The sticker then got wet and came off.

I was curious about the bracelets, too!

What the displays look like, that sort of thing. I think it's because we don't even have a Disney Store nor is Disney stuff popular here other than Pooh so I can't get my retail fix...it looks like it won't be for 9 more months now if we go in May, as we are discussing now.

Mousekeeping was good about not only leaving towel animals, but also leaving window displays, like this one, which DD7 and DS4 enjoyed. Another time, we returned to find our stuffed animals tucked comfortably in bed. FWIW, we tipped a few bucks daily.

When I saw this picture the first thing that came to mind was joy as I spied the new styled refillable mug :), then I felt like a nut! It does look nice and big, although I wish it still said 'Pop' on it. We had to throw away :eek: our last two at the airport as we couldn't fit them in our bag, and we had more at home and now I regret it!

Also, SPJammer I noticed your daughter has a few bracelets on, are those from a water park perhaps or a special event?

First the picture is from June of 2006 and that is the refillable mug that you get at Blizzard Beach. We had been there earlier in the day and left early to do some laundry (Yeah! :cool1: )

That bottle of laundry is actually small compared to what we normally use. There were 7 of us in our party and we were there for 10 days so we had A LOT of laundry. After seeing the prices for the laudry detergent in the dispensers I am glad we brought the bottle. We used all four of the machines in the picture plus two more that were on the other side out of the picture.

The braclets were from EMH's and I think one was a photograph bracelet that they give you at the water parks when they take your photo so that you can look at it later.

Oh and it's Mr. SPJammer :rolleyes1 :upsidedow ;)

I know that when we got the mug they told us that if we came back later in our trip all we had to do was pay a small fee and they add a barcode sticker to it that allows you to reuse the mug. Not sure if we will be able to reuse the mugs this year as we bought them in 2006. :confused3

The way the system is set up is you go to the soda filling stations and have to actually scan your mug in order to activate the machine. Otherwise you can press the levers all day long and get nothing.

DD (then 12) and I took a girl's only trip in 2005 and stayed @ Pop. I'd paid for a preferred view room and was so disappointed that our view was the unfinished buildings, which at that time were no where near being complete. I had the door open and was just about to step out (on my way to the front desk to request a better view) when DD pointed to the sky. We had a great (albiet distant) view of the fireworks from MK! It was great since it rained every evening and we returned to our room early each night. It was fun being able to prop the door open and see the fireworks while sitting on the bed! Needless to say, I had no more thoughts of changing rooms!
