I wouldn't worry about it too much. we have been there just after July 4th and in August and never had much of a wait anytime of the day or night.

Loving the pictures. We were supposed to have stayed at Pop back in October but had to change our plans at the last minute. We've now got a VERY tentative trip booked for the last week of June. The odds are stacked against us but I just couldn't pass up the 4/3 deal so we're gonna take a leap of faith and give it a try. Wish us lots of pixie dust - we can't wait to finally see the place in person.:rotfl:

We stayed at Pop in april, and we had lots of rain, so I never got to take many pics of the hotel. We leave in 4 days:banana: and this time, it's looking like nice sunny weather, so I hope I'll be able to share some pics when we get back!!!

hi everyone!!! love the thread. my girls and i goin to pop in 3 weeks:banana: i was wondering if anyone has pics or knows if pop sells any food items in the store area. (i think i remember last trip at ASmovies) them having some things like poptarts,bread, milk etc.

There is mostly candy in the gift shop. the gift shop and food court are connected, so all the to go food like that is in the back of the food court.

Eeeewwww! I had looked at the photo before reading the caption, and I thought "What a great picture! You can see her excitement in her strut!" Then I read what happened immediately after the shot....Poor thing!

I'm pretty sure that the new 2009 mugs are not in circulation yet. They have to sell out of the YOAMD mugs first. There's a thread in the restaurant forum where we've all been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new ones in the resorts.

I thought so, too... I was looking for the 09 Mug watch threads, and I saw the poster's siggy... I just hope that when I get to Pop in about 3 weeks that they do have the new mugs out... I don't need 2 more of these YOAMD designs!!

Thank you, dtr_angel. I've added a link to the 2009 mug to the Pop FAQ thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=28343149#post28343149) as it's different than 2008's mug.

Even though the rules state the mug purchase is not for unlimited, lifeftime refills, people still want to know what they look like. Hopefully they just want to know for collecting purposes, not breaking-the-rules/reuse purposes! ;)


Those are the same as last year. They had different color handles (I think 3 to chose from) I heard it may be March before the news are out.

I'm ready for a new refillable mug. I got one in Dec. '07 and another one last May. I'm hoping the new one will be more colorful and less 'winterish' (new word) looking. I can see winter looking out my window. I want one that makes me think of FL. Shades of blue doesn't make me think of FL. :sad2:

We did not request it but we LOVED IT. It is far enough from the action to be quite but still close to the busses and to classic hall. I do not mind a little walking. It was nice NOT being close to a pool, it seemed very noisy.

I totally agree, I loved the 70's, we were standard, but still close to everything, but away from the noise of the pool. I felt really sorry for people who had paid for perferred and got put near the pool, it was really loud there. The 70's was in a perfect location, if we go back to POP, I would definantly request to be there again.

LOL! I have a Canon P&S A540 which is very similar to yours only a few models older and a Rebel (XTi)as well. LOL! I think those Canon P&S's take some awesome pictures.

We've stayed at AllStar Movies and also AllStar Music as well as POP. POP is our fav.

Anyway the POP food court has similar meal offerings in addition to 'mom's night out special TV dinners' that really are not TV dinners and are quite good. Service is self serve just like AllStars.

A difference between the food courts is that at the AllStars the courts have entrances from the lobby. At POP you must walk through Everything POP Gift Shop to get to the food court. But that takes only 10 seconds.

We've never stayed at AS, but we loved Pop. The food court was great. DH, DD, and I did not have a problem finding a meal there. A lot of choices, and service was fast.

I like the Pop food court better for 2 reasons:
1-Pop has frozen Coke and blue raspberry slushies as a refill mug option

2-Pop has all food in the food court. At All Stars you have to go to the gift shop to get larger sizes of milk and things like that.

Yes ! It most certainly does but the email with the pin code that came out and certain ppl recieved started Free dining on the 16th but that is exclusively for PPl who were sent the pin code! The bounceback offer for FD dates are 8/23 - 10/1 or 10/2 not sure on the last day but it's one of the 2.

Hope this helps! So if free dining is put out again in April it will probably be around 8/23-10/1 which is what the bounceback deal was. Or maybe they will lengthen it and it will include the dates of the pin code but the cm's stated it would not be public for those dates but you never ever know.

Kris, I would suggust calling the Special Needs department - they will be sure you are assigned a room as required by your disability:
407-939-7807 - Option 1 or 4 (even tho 4 says camping, it will also be special needs).

Sadly we just got back on Monday. Oh how I loved Pop! I didnt quite care for the man in concierege. He was useless! That is my only complaint. the buses were awesome and the room was perfect for us. I have a ton of pics. I will get to posting them. Sorry they are so big... but whats wrong with huge Pop pics?

Could you try to resize them down? If you have them on photobucket, just hit edit and you will be able to resize them. Some people still have dail up modems (I only recently got highspeed) and it takes FOREVER to get these big pictures to load. Eve nwith highspeed it slows it down.

Definately comment on the photos. But sometimes we get alot of questions about Pop, when they should be answered in the Pop thread. Some people just want to flip through the pictures and with alot of text, it gets hard to do.

Due to DGD's allergy/asthma problems, I always have them replace the bedding with freshly laundered ones as soon as I check in. I stay in the room and wait for them to deliver, watch them do it and then tip them generously. ;) This is not just at POP, but at other, even more "high end" resorts as well. We were at POP in August, I love this resort. When we were leaving my husband and I decided we would be back at Disney in 2011 for my 40th birthday, Disney's 40th Birthday and our 10th Anniversary. I started a Disney Fund account as soon as we got back so we could save and stay were ever we wanted to. I picked the Contemporary, but for some reason did not feel comfortable with that choice. I have finally decided on POP again, I love it that much. I can fly instead of drive and stay for 7 nights instead of 6 for less then what I would have paid at the Contemorary to drive for 6 nights. I am so excited, I know this is the right choice for us!!!!:cool1:

We stayed at the PC during spring break in 2008 and the crowds weren't that bad at all. We like the PC so much we will be staying there again July 2009.

Saturday,September 20, 2008 around 11:00 AM. I don't know if ME had just dropped off people or not. We drove and that is what it looked like when we got there. I should also mention the line actually moved really fast. I think we were checked in within 20-30 minutes. So really not that big of a deal.

This was also the last week of free dining and Food & Wine started Friday the 26th so the crowds were heavier, but still not as bad as summer time crowds.

I am not sure on the sides with the waffles. We had the dining plan so I don't know if that changed or includes sides. I will check with DH and see if he remembers. He was the one "paying".

See after 16 and a half hours in the car in the car over night and the check in process, the Grandpas still had enough energy to hula hoop.
