I leave Friday for a week at Disney but I'm not getting to stay at my beloved Pop.

I know how you feel I will be at Pop in May ,but in Sept it will be ASSP. I will definately do a in depth comparrison !! So far with research I am learing some in and outs of Sports but Pop is HOME!!!

Those are great pics! Your childhood box looks much like my childhood box I was born in 72 I'm assuming you are w/i 3yrs of that! LOL! I love POp for the Memories ! I use to love Boy George growing up and my mom and sister s hated it! So when we were there last year we were waiting for a bus at POP and Karma Kamelion came on and I quick called my mom laughing and told her to listen carefully! She was like OMG only you would call me for that! LOL! It was fun!

I found some great video of the Pop. I usually search U tube and have it search after date added, and well here you go! The Pop footage shows the gift shop and food court and I was so happy :goodvibes ! You can choose to view in high quality too which is great and the rest of the video is a nice walk through of the MK, made me feel like I was there walking with this family :thumbsup2 .

The gift shop isn't going to be able to place an order for you. I'm sure that they may be willing to get you a SKU number though. Otherwise, make sure you have a very detailed description of the shirt you want when you call Merchandising.

Thank you! I was playing around with features on my camera. This one was in a panaramic mode that "squeezes". If I recall correctly, that took 4 shots that were stitched together.

Many many pages back, I saw pictures of the bus lines but they were (I think) September lines. Anybody have any early to mid-August bus lines? Just trying to get a "feel" for the bus line crowds.

ok i did it...i booked a upcoming trip to WDW and after lots of reading we are booked at POP. i know that everyone round dis has all the right answers i need to make this trip wonderful...so if anyone has advice or tips for these ? let me know

#1 feb how is it that time of the yr?
weather i know is out of wdw hands not really goin to go for alot of swimming but hopin that the weather is ok for the most part

#2 crowds? we are goin feb 2nd - 9th
between the super bowl in tampa on the 1st theres nothing as far as "holidays" until the 16th monday for presidents day so i am hopin that the days we are there arent to bad

#3 location,location,location
we booked a standard room this trip and i noted to the cast member that i needed a ground floor room. so my ? is this (and please dont flame me) i am a smoker (i know bad) i dont smoke in my home , i dont smoke in my car and i dont smoke near my kids. so if anyone can help with this thanks. i need a map with designated smoke areas at the resort or if someone has stayed at pop with the same issue let me know what would be the best location for me. i need to be able to smoke (3-5mins) and still be able to close to the room. my kids are 5 almost 6 when we travel.

Imagine (ahhhh) you're walking through Classic Hall, heading to Everything Pop (feel the excitement?!). Nearly straight ahead, there are two checkout counters, each on either side of an aisle leading you to the foodcourt's dining area. This display is located right beside and even slightly behind the counter on your right. So it's on the apparel side of Everything Pop's Gift Shop.

Woohoo! I don't know how I do it, but I end up cut, bleeding, bruised, and/or with a deathly cold each time I ever go away. I know it's so overpriced but when I feel like death there's nothing nicer than dragging myself to the gift shop and making myself feel better! Funny you should mention ace bandages, as I actually needed them on a trip in 06 after a terrible run-in with a stairwell on a boat party the day before we left :rotfl:

They still have a cash register near the entrance for the buses. There's a counter with 2 registers. The furthest left one actually is the Package Pick-up Station. The other one on the right hand side is right beside all the candy and photo frames.

The ping pong table is at the Hippy Dippy Pool. If you walk out of Classic Hall towards the pool, Petals Bar is on the right, and the ping pong table is on the left. The balls were on the ledge around Petals Bar.

Snack vending machines are only found on the first floor of each building (and the laundry room building). All other floors have the beverage vending machine only.

They came quickly and most of the time they weren't overly crowded (there was a few times we had to stand) The main thing that I noticed is that the POP food court gets very crazy in the mornings. If you plan on eating there have someone get your food while someone else gets a table otherwise its crazy to try and find one.

As far as the food court goes, I think every resort had morning crowds. We aren't big breakfast eaters and on the few occasions we do dine, I usually go down to the food court and take it back to the room while the others are getting ready.

It will also depend on which park you go to. Ones with EMH in the morning or evening tend to have more crowded lines.

I love this picture! My camera has this feature, I'm gonna have to figure it out before we go back to Pop. Good thing I have a while to figure it out:rotfl2:

I didn;t use a camera with that feature. I used a DSLR and tok several in a row, making sure to overlap each picture, then used the program zoombrowser which comes with Canon cameras and used the stitch on it to make it one. there are other programs that do it too, but this one works best for me, I found. My point and shott has the feature of panoramic but it never turns out as nice, and you are more likely to get a curve in it, though you can the way I did it too.

I think that some of the decorations are going up at the parks this week, but I'm not sure about resorts. Someone on here can probably help you with your question about Pop Century specifically. If someone doesn't answer on this thread, you may want to set up a separate thread about it. :thumbsup2

Okay guys and gals, I had previously requested pictures of the bus lines during August and they didn't seem that bad. When the buy 4/get 3 promo came out I changed our reservations to May 28 to June 6, 2009. Anybody have pics of the bus lines during that time period or even of the resort during that time frame?

Don't know if you are talking about the wait for a bus at the resort, or wait for a bus returning to the resort (from a park). When staying at an AllStars, we may have had 20 min for a bus to a park, at the most. Same at POP.

But what we liked better is that a POP bus from a park goes straight back to POP. From a park, the AllStars Movies or AllStars Music share bus stops. So sometimes you wait for people to get out at one of the AllStars before it goes on to the next AllStars. What I am trying to say is that park buses returning to AllStars make two stops to drop guests off. This takes longer.

Great pics, DreaGirl. :thumbsup2 I like the one with the kids swimming in the bowling pin pool and people walking beside the pool dressed in sweaters and jeans! Diehard kids. That will be my kids in 12 days. Nothing will keep them out of the pool.

Also love the shot of the bowling pin stairwell with the sun shining on the top of it!

Thanks everyone! I had all of you (and my scrapbook) in mind while taking the pics. I loved looking at all the pics before my trip so I thought I would give back to those that haven't been home in a while. We fell in love with POP while there and may change our Oct. reservation over to Pop.

I also read that one awhile ago. That is what was scaring me. I sure hope it doens't happen, but "supposedly" they have already built or started building a model of it.

I also find it hard that pop is least popular. I have read statistics, and pop seems to fal lonly slightly under all stars, but Pop is bigger too. The reason though I would think they would temporarily close pop, is that the All stars are all together, while pop is out all alone. They are still booking it though. But I'll tell you what, if I booked Pop and then was moved to As sports I would be sooo mad. So I hope they tell these people before hand if they are moving them and to where. (though an upgrade would be kind of cool. LOL!)

Too Cute!!! I just booked our trip for POP last night! While I should be excited about our entire trip, I am sooo excited and ready to shop, the tink merchandise is so cute!!! I can not wait!!!

Maybe they are fazing out resort specific merchandise as a cost saver. They got rid of resort specific refill mugs and went with the same mug resort wide so why not all other items. I would think they would save a fortune to buy generic Disney items in bigger numbers that could be sold all over Disney property at a higher profit margin.

I don't beleive that travel agents will have this knowledge till last minute (for temp close) As for the resort eing totally changed, I assume that will take a few years, and not with in the next 6 months.

Enjoying this thread this morning...I just love the POP Christmas decorations -wish they could carry it throughout the resort...i.e. walking to the rooms etc.

Usually go for a long weekend in December and have stayed at POP 3 times for that weekend...last yr decided to go back to the Poly...while we love the Poly and it was beautifully decorated, missed the homey POP decorations. ::yes::
