I am thinking about it. I will check with my aunt and see if I can stay at her house. If i can and it works into my summer schedule I hope to go.

I and a bunch of friends are going. Some are staying at the hotel next to the convention center...but since we're from West Palm Beach....most are driving back and forth....more money to spend on the goodies!!!:rolleyes1

My boss will be in Alaska so I'm thinking of taking Friday off and going. It looks like fun (and a good excuse to buy more stuff)

I am doing the one on Thursday night- the album one. I am thinking about the others but I don't really want to travel to my aunts after them as they end fairly late. I didn't register in time to get the Disney Board book but I am registered for the Disney pages on Saturday.

I am going Thursday through Saturday. Here are my classes:
Thursday: 6-7 Simply Paint;
7-10:30 Album Crop
Friday: 9:50-11:50 Disney Board Book (It just opened up)
12:30-1:30 Little Black Dress Basics
1:50-2:50 Through the Years
6:00-8:00 A Clearly Cutting Edge Album (it was recently added)
Saturday:8:30-9:30 5 in 1 with SEI
11:10-12:10 Latest and Greatest with Basic Grey
1:50-2:50 All about Heritage
Between times I am shopping. I am staying near the convention center at a hotel since I have a 2-3 hour drive to get there. I decided if I was going I wanted to learn lots of techniques and I get bored shopping very easily so I left myself some time for shopping but not so much time that I would go crazy.
I will wear my Lime Green Mickey Head (although I will make my tags I have never gotten any from Home Depot).
I would love to meet some of you who are going.

Okay, thanks to my darling BF, I'm now registered for the Latest & Greatest on Saturday and have a pass for Saturday

Had a really great time today, took 4 classes and spent some $$$ on shopping also. I wasn't to crazy about the Basic Gray class I took. But really enjoy'd the Sweet Little Girl album and the Heritage Recipe Box class.

I went to all my classes and spent lots of money on the vendor floor. I learned a lot although some people around me in classes complained about what they learned. My favorite class was the one with SEI and I learned to make the best element- this cool slider that lets you put 3 pictures in the space where one should be. My head is still spinning from everything I learned and took in, I still haven't unpacked the car either.

I really enjoyed the basic gray class. I wasn't impressed with my little black dress class. I've heard they are coming back to Fort Lauderdale next year!
I spend exactly all the money I brought on the vendor floor - I'm glad I only brought cash!

Didn't some of the vendors have some really good sales. I also only bought cash and spent what I brought including lunch and the $11 for the parking.

Piglet are you in Broward? I hit a couple of LSS that I didn't know existed until this weekend and came away quite impressed. I'm looking forward to next year's convention!

I went to Scrapbooking Depot (Sunrise and University) and The Paper Niche (Cleary and Nob Hill). I was really impressed with Scrapbooking Depot and will be visiting there quite regularly!
I do want to hit Scrapbook Central - their website is nice

I was also at the Convention this weekend. I just went to the Scrapbook Central store today and was quite impressed with what they have. In August, they are having a class on Disney Autograph book for $35. The book is really cute and I was told by the owner that they are planning on doing a Princess book as well. I'm planning on doing both. I also live in Broward like you.

Anyone thinking of going to CKU in Orlando in October?
rlovew
07-03-2007, 03:25 PM
I think I will wait another year before trying a CKU- from what I have seen the classes are faster there and I am not ready for that yet- plus I have so many new things to use from this one I am not ready to learn more until I am comfortable using what I just learned. I am however thinking about going up to the Memories Expo for Saturday in October or November. I may try to take classes or I may just visit the vendor fair.

I was good with the speed of the classes. CKU is intriguing me. I'd like to go, I just need to see if the budget will allow it. I'm going back to school in January to finish my teaching degree and I need to be sure I have enough money for that. Thank goodness FAU is only $110 a credit hour.

I was also in the store early this afternoon. Saw the Disney Book and really wanted to signed up for it, but I'm sch to work that day. What a nice lady the owner is.
I was also in the Paper Niche and really liked that store also.
Would love to go to CKU in Oct, but I will just be coming back from my Alaskan Cruise on the 17th of Sept and won't have the time or the $$$ to do it. My best friend and I may try to go up to the Memories Expo in Nov if there is anything I want to take.

My understanding is that the Orlando CKU sells out within hours of registration opening (another reason I am not looking at attending since I will be away next week when registration opens) so if you really want to go check out the classes have your list and be ready for the right evening next week at 8pm.

Faerie- Good luck with getting your teaching degree. I just got mine 3 years ago and absolutely love teaching.
PigletsPal- What time were you at Scrapbook Central? I was there around 11am. It would be funny if we were there around the same time. Also, I haven't checked out Paper Niche yet. Today, I also went to Scrapbook Fanatic. I'm hoping to get to Memory Market within the next week or so.

I love that I walked away from CKC with a nice long list of LSS. that means I can avoid Mike's even more so now
Caralyn - thanks for the good luck. I was putting myself through school and at 21 it got to be too much. I was working two jobs and taking a full load of classes and my grades were suffering. I've taken quite a bit of time off (almost 7 years) but I think now is the perfect time to go and finish.

I was there around 12:30 or 1pm. I've only been in Memory Market once since it was sold and it seem like a nice place. There is also a new one opened up a couple of months ago off of Flamingo and Sterling in the Publix shopping center a few doors down from Beverly Hills Cafe. Really nice lady and she had some nice stuff also.
