We Hooked a BIG FISH!!

I just posted this in another forum but this place seems more appropriate:

To illustrate how random the selection is...

My 11 yr old daughter was picked on 4/11/07 as the winner of the "Nights and Lights" prize package (adventuresbydisney.com). She was in Downtown Disney's West End (Orlando) and sat on the "lucky bench". That's all it took. The luck bench was being watched by Disney Staffers. We were told that a random bench and time was selected and if someone sat there between 10 and 10:20 am, that person would be the winner. :banana:

The prize is an 8 day trip to London and Paris. $25,000 (includes $5600 for taxes). Talk about a lucky kid! This was fortunate because we were thinking about making this trip anyway.

All four of us had to sign a bunch of legal docs and releases. The Disney staff was great. They made my daughter feel like a real celebrity. We hope to squeeze in the trip this year.

P.S.
Considering the $$ spent over the years on season passes, Disney hotels, lunches at WDW, closets full of Disney princess gowns/shoes/fairy wands/, $20,000 worth of Disney Videos/DVDs/CDs/cassettes, and computer games... I may actually have recouped almost 20% of the $$ I spent on Disney products! LOL

Wow, what a great prize. I was at the Richard Petty Driving Experience that morning, and I was wondering if they awarded prizes over there. It is nice to hear about a big one, not that the little one's aren't fun.

I just received a survey from WDW asking how I liked golfing and they asked me if I won anything while golfing, and if I heard about the Million Dreams Giveaway. So they must be giving something away at one of the golf courses too.

The prize list indicates there is a cash amount included in each of the travel prizes to be used toward the payment of taxes, but they don't guarantee it will satisfy the winner's tax liability (different people, different tax rates).
