First of all, big :grouphug: to Linda (S/G), becky_ak, keliblue and all the other folks going through tough times right now. Aren't bad things only supposed to happen in 3's? It seems this group has had more than that, and certainly more than their share lately. If anyone deserves a little Disney, it's you all.
We've shipped a box down before a vacation before, and it worked like a charm. It was especially good for shipping stuff back home at the end of the vacation--we went a little overboard on souveniers at mousesurplus one year. :rolleyes1 I don't know if POP offers this service, but CSR (along with several other resorts, I've been told) has a great business center that cheerfully taped up (duh, didn't think to bring packing tape) and mailed off our gigantic box for <$20 total. Just something to keep in mind--it might be cheaper than buying an extra suitcase.
Oh, packing tape for the stuff I want to ship home  Good one! I hadn't though about that! That would be cool if Pop offered that service as well. I wonder if anyone knows? Thanks for the tip. I'll have to keep that in mind!

Re: Schleping things down...Why do you think we have a 15 passenger van and drive? LOL
Actually, because it's configured for 15 it does not have a lot of cargo room. Sigh. But, I am not in the mood to pack too many days worth of clothes, so I am only taking 4 days worth. But that's times 9, so do the math. My mom is also riding with us, so that's 10 people plus luggage. My goal for our immediate family is 2 suitcases, one big square duffle bag, and a carryon.
That seems doable, right?
It helps that it is guarenteed to be hot, because then I am not packing both winter and summer clothes.
Dh caught me packing the other day and gave me the eye, but I just gave him back the "YEAH, I am. Wanna make something of it?" :rotfl:
He knows I'm nuts. I have been married to him for almost 16 years!!! LOL
Shhh, don't tell, but he's started to get excited about the trip. Work is very stressful for him, and he's ready to be gone for 2 weeks. :thumbsup2
Ok, busy day for me today, as my folks decided last minute to come visit tomorrow til Friday, so we have some, ahem, "fervent cleaning" to do.
Have a great day! We're almost there!!!
[Who leaves first? We leave home on the 15th. The last one here needs to turn the lights out! LOL]

I am so glad to hear that your DH is getting excited about the trip:banana: Mine is too... Finally ;)
I think I am one of the last to arrive at POP (21st) but only because DH are going to the Villa's at Vero Beach for a few days before we pick the kids up at the airport and head to POP :dance3:

Good morning everyone! I was reading through some of the threads and I'm very sorry for the tough times that a lot of you have been going through. Things have to get better!
As far as wrestling for the lime green Goofy, I'd be willing to give it up, but you'll have to check with DD. She'd might be willing to trade for something princessy or high school musical. She's obsessed with those lately princess:
Anyway, quick question? What do you bring the Epcot yard of ale glass for? We got 2 our last trip which was our first trip. Can you get cheaper refills or something???? TIA!

2 weeks ? I am jealous. Our first trip was 2 weeks long staying at Carribean Beach. I loved every minute of it - and of course I was hooked. We usually try to make our trips at least 10 days.
It sounds like my son and I are packing more for two people than you are for 10  You must be incredibly organized ! I just start throwing stuff in :lmao:

Although I don't drink, I don't mind bringing something. I would have to leave it with someone maybe the morning of since I'm not sure what time we'll make it to the party. I could possible bring a cooler. Just let me know what you folks like to drink and I'll see what I can do.

I will not come empty handed, but I don't know what I'm going to bring yet. It will probably be a bottle of booze and whatever else I can fit in my suitcase. I know, I know - buy a bigger suitcase!
OR
I'd be more than willing to give money if someone has room or is driving and wants to pick up some extra stuff for me. I can send you a check. Just a thought...........
We are not going to get there until after Illuminations...........Hopefully DD will still be going at this point. We are doing MNSHHP the night before and she never naps!

Keli~I'm going to put an order in next week with Gardengrocer.com. I can order a couple things of OJ & I'll bring a couple of bottles of wine & maybe I can get stuff for margaritas too. Anyway, count me in for bringing some stuff. I'm not sure what time we'll be at the party now because our dinner reservations were changed to a later time (that's what I get for letting Dad make some ressies). We are eating at 8pm at Grand Floridian but then we'll head to Pop as soon as we are done. I still really want to try & get a group photo of everyone.

I can pick up something for you :flower3: DH and I will be driving back from Vero Beach on the 21st.. We can settle up at the party
Ok, I just talked to DH via email (we are both at work, hardly working.....). He says we will just bring something so that we don't look like we are coming "empty handed." I think he is more worried about it all being gone by the time we get there :lmao:
So, thank you so much for your offer!
We will bring some sort of booze & mixer & lots of GLOW stuff, of course. I'll try to bring some cups too if I can manage to get them in my overstuffed suitcase without smashing, cracking, whatever.............
1 more month to go! :cool1:
Did I mention DD has no idea we are going? I need to figure out how I'm going to surprise her. I'm open to suggestions ;)

Thought I culd pick up a couple of frozen concentrated OJs. I was thinking about bringing a small soft sided cooler (and yes it fits!) so I could put them in ziplock bags and then in the cooler. Should be good and thawed by Sat night!
As to what I pack:
4 Skorts w/ 2 tops each
2 tank tops & cotton sleep pants
Undies for 7 days
Makeup bag which also holds a comb, hairspray & deoderant
1 pr light sneakers, 2 pr sandals
2 small bags to carry stuff at the parks
4 chargers (1 Ipod, 2 phone & 1 camera)
Rest of the toiletry stuff fits in a 1 gal Ziplock
DD will have similar clothes & maybe 2 more pr of flip flops
Now, the soft sided cooler too.
This would probably fit in one suitcase but we'll take 2 just to give us more room for the way back and I'll also carry an oversized bag on the plane. DD just came home with a GREAT quilted bag from AE, definitely coming w/us!! SOOO cute.
Have I forgotten anything? This is really all we used last year.

:welcome: What are your dates? BTW, the 22nd is my mom's bday too. I bought a small table decoration that I'll surprise her with. I'll have that and her gift on the table waiting for her when she gets out the shower in the morning. Thinking about calling around to get a cake for her as well.

Don't worry about packing any of the cups, I am going to pick up about 100 cheapy cups..at Walgreens.
I bought glow cups (only 2 tho!) at Walgreens last year - 75% off!! They are ugly red plastic cups that fit a glow stick in the handle!! :rotfl2: '
Gayle - thanks for the list - I will work on packing that - I guess maybe I just have a small suitcase - that is about all that can fit in my suitcase!!
Sunlover I havent told dd 10 - but I have hinted - in as much as... we're not doing anything - lets go to disney THIS WEEKEND!! and she looks at me terrified - "NO, I am NEVER getting on a plane again" Just go w/o me!! oh no!! Now what do I do?? So now I keep telling her how sad I am that she has outgrown Disney... she tells me its not Disney, its the plane!! HELP!! I probably will not tell her till the night before... I have not been on DIS most of summer due to computer problems (DOA and now replaced) & extra work hours.
I am on the list but wrong dates (We will actually be @ POP 18-27).
We made ADRs for 9:30 because of a late lunch and want to see Spectromagic so we will head over after dinner and see who is still glowing at the Hippie Pool.
I will be ordering from Garden Grocer too if there is something specific anyone thinks of over next couple of weeks.

Count me in for the party and to bring something beverage wise or snacky - whichever works...will have a car while down there. Suggestions on what to bring???
Being accompanied by my 10yr DN Gregory. Told him about the party, he is all up for it. Wanting to know if there will be more kids there. Found really cool glow in the dark spinning tops at the Dollar Store. They also have, what appears to be, this neon green spiderwebby stuff to put out. May look really cool with window decorations (to those of you decorating). I'm on the low end of the artsy-craftsy creativity scale, so well see :-)
Looking forward to seeing everyone on the 22nd.

Pubugg No worries for Gregory, my dd is 10 - and I've counted several kiddies amongst the glow crowd - I'm going to bring lots of extra glow necklaces/sticks to hand out!!
LOVE the countdown, it really is a great idea - I WANT ONE!! and can I just say, I love the typo!!
couldnt get any adrs today my 30 day window - what's up with that? Because the one year we went end of Sept and because all the posts say low crowds, I was hugely shocked and stressed because it was CROWDED - so just prepare for the worst, and lets be pleasantly surprised!! I'm thinking the week before the 22 will be much lower crowds than after - and I'm basing that on my past experience - with adrs and with full resorts!! It wont be 4th of July Christmas crowded, but it may feel like JULY!! (heat and humidity!!)

Ooops! Thanks for pointing that out! Gonna go change it right now!

Jenni, love the countdown. For mine all I did was scribble some numbers on the calendar which I mark off everyday. :p I'm not very creative.
Ahhh, 28 days! It's getting so close. I'm going to freak when the first person leaves, we won't leave til 21st. So we won't be the first of the last. \
Kelli, any particular juice you prefer, or just anything we can fine will do? We're taking a big soft sided cooler to put our soda in, we maybe could loan it to ya for the party.
What time is the party starting? Our Chef Mickey's reservation isn't til 8:30 [couldn't get it earlier] !!!

For countdown, go to www.tickerfactory.com. As for ADRs, there is a World Series Softball tournament going on 9/20-9/23 (? exact dates) so that could be why ADRs are booking. LOTS of games being played at WWoS and even other cities close by.
See you at the party!

My 2 boys are 8, will be 9 on Mon and 13, so he'll have someone to talk to, play with.
So, I finally finished dd's countdown calendar and it starts counting down at 30 days so she gets to start tomorrow :cool1:

(First time posting a picture  ) Anyone know how I can make it smaller?
Great countdown. With the one I made (if you wanna call it that) I just took some paper and cut it into squares. I put 1 number on each square. It's posted on the fridge and each day, I just take down one square and replace it with the next number.

You probably waited too long. I did mine in April when I made my ressies and I was able to get the times I wanted. Although the parks may be empty, the TS will be full. My suggestion is go to the place you want to eat at at least an hour before you wanted your adr's for. Hopefully you won't have to wait too long as there may be some people who don't show up or cancel altogether.

Hi everyone...
Well, I'm NOT a vodka drinker (once in hs was ENOUGH for me!)
I'll be bringing as much capt. morgan as I can fit in my suitcase!!!! & I love to share!
What ever makes you happy sister
Sounds interesting..... What is your show about?
To all you Glow Party Hostesses - I can't drink and then stay awake or get up the next morning, :lmao: so how about I bring some munchies. :)
That works... :rotfl: I don't think any in our group has an avertion to food:lmao:
I second that!:rotfl:
I have not been on DIS most of summer due to computer problems (DOA and now replaced) & extra work hours.
I am on the list but wrong dates (We will actually be @ POP 18-27).
We made ADRs for 9:30 because of a late lunch and want to see Spectromagic so we will head over after dinner and see who is still glowing at the Hippie Pool.
I will be ordering from Garden Grocer too if there is something specific anyone thinks of over next couple of weeks.
Later ~ T
It's about time you showed up  we missed you girl:yay:
Count me in for the party and to bring something beverage wise or snacky - whichever works...will have a car while down there. Suggestions on what to bring???

- where'd my quotes go?? Weather is awful here - more storms, tornado warnings etc.. radar picture we're in the red yellow storm area!
Sunlover At Rose and Crown in EPCOT you can buy a yard of ale for (guessing price!) $11 and then they'll refill the same glass for $7! So I just bring back the yard of ale glass year after year (and I know its a huge debate about the refillable mugs - but apparently its no problem to refill the yards of ale!!)
We found that to be the best bargain (as a small glass of beer is $5 - to get a whole 1/2 yard for $7 we'd just use the 1/2 yard as a "pitcher")
ADR's I'm all set with the ADR's except I have LeCellier for 8:30 pm and I wanted to get it earler - its usually easy to get it changed 30 days prior! MM is at 4 - I wanted it around 5 - I will go late to MM and early to LC - and see how it goes!! and I'll keep calling!!
PS I really dont want anyone to panic with my opinion of crowds - I've just never forgoten how it felt to think "low crowds everyone on the DIS says so "- and then to be hit with lines everywhere - even in the FP lanes! (I used ************ that year!) For food and wine - first weekend - of course you should expect crowds, or avoid EPCOT!! The crowds are part of the ambiance! I know we've all planned, we're totally prepared here - if there are low crowds - its a "perk" or a "DREAM" if not, I'm prepared - either way I know I wont be disappointed!!! :cool1: :dance3:

Sorry to hear yall had some bad weather. I wish we could get some of your rain. We've been in a drought all summer. I saw on the news lastnight that every day this month, we've had temps in the 90's or above. Not sure exactly how many days we've had triple digits, and we also set the new record high on 8 days (and counting) My poor flowers are slowly dying in my yard and I've been trying to water them every evening.

I'm in for bringing party items. I was thinking that I could bring some sort of Cranberry/Grape juice. I think that goes pretty good w/ vodka. I'm also thinking that I would bring some Vanilla Vodka as I drink it most of the time anyway.
I will talk to DH and see if he wants to bring some beer also. BTW, the person that asked about Corona... Dh likes it. If he brings beer should we bring that too or something different?
I think munchies are a great idea too! Although I doubt my crew will be able to eat a bite! We have ressies at O'hana's at 9:20. I hope there will still be a good many of you guys there when we get there!! I am looking forward to meeting all of you SO much, I will be VERY disappointed if I miss you guys!

I saw the tv coverage of the West Chicago warehouse - 7 people were trapped when the roof was sheared off - and caused down electrical wires - all are now safe - the one man said from the tv coverage it looked like just 8 cars were completely damaged from the bricks that fell off the side of the building, but the wind was so strong, every car looked likeit had sand blasting done on it!!
2. fdil (future daughter in law) works in Arlington Heights, she left work early (I called to warn her not to drive home to Irving Park in Chicago!) she went to her moms in Lake Zurich (they are not getting along) SHe left to get on I94, 4 hours later she only got about 20 miles - she called - I was so happy to hear her voice, I demanded she come spend the night!! What a night, she said people were just pulling off the Edens waiting for the storm drains to clear - she got off trying to find a way home!!
3. GLASS Vodka??? NO - you can get it in plastic bottles!! (not that I'm a lush Kelli!! ok, maybe  ) When all else fails I put it in a plastic bottle!! and then bubble wrap it and put it in one of those huge ziplock 2 1/2 gallon bags - but I think I'll do that and ship it instead of putting it in my luggage - I'm going to try and pack like Pooch!!
4. We havent celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary (Aug 22) I took dd to my parents - then dh had to work... now he's heading down to Univ of IL to spend time with his sons - we'll fit it in either next weekend or at DISNEY!! :cool1: Course I'd rather have BEARS tickets!! :thumbsup2 BEARS vs VIKINGS !! That should be a great game for Da BEARS!! I hear there is a Bears Game while we're in Disney - we may have to head to ESPN (I think it may be a Monday night game too!!)

Happy Anniversary to you! Wow! 26th! Congrats! I'm happy getting through 1 year! DH and I both went to U of I, GO ILLINI! We are heading down the last weekend in Sept to catch a football game. I have not been down there in 5+ years so I'm excited to see all the changes. I'm not sure about your dates, but there is a Sunday night game on 9/23 against Dallas at 7:15 Chicago time. That works out great b/c that was our Downtown Disney / relax night so maybe that will be our Chicago Bears night instead! Better make a note to pack our Bears gear :cheer2:

Good morning everyone!
EMD in Lagrange, Electro-Motive Diesel, it's right on 55th & East Avenue, just East of Lagrange Road. We build locomotives. I work in the aftermarket in inventory management & forecasting. Nothing too exciting........I'd rather be a SAHM. Hopefully, someday..........
Where are you from?
WOW! I just noticed this is your first trip to WDW! How exciting for you and your family! We just took our first trip back in May. DD(4) loved it and constantly asks when we are going back! She has no idea we are going back already in Sept. Although, I don't think she grasps that it is a big deal to go to Disneyworld. She thinks it is just a hop, skip, and a jump away and we could go tomorrow......
I also see you are a big Bears fan! Us too! I'm surprising DH with tix to the Bears - Vikings for our wedding anniversary gift. Our 1 year wedding anniversary is tomorrow! YIKES, I need to go out and get a card today! Yes, I know, we have a 4 yr old..... We did things a little backwards
I know exactly where that is! My daughter goes to Flying High Gymnastics which is near where you work! She also goes to a Montessori preschool in LaGrange. We live in Chicago, near Archer and Harlem. I grew up in Justice though.
We are sooo excited about our first trip! I know what you mean, my dd doesn't realize what it means for us to be able to go to WDW :)
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!! What an awesome anniversary gift!
GO BEARS!!! :cool1: :cool1:

This is beginning to sound like a Chicago reunion party! My parents lived in LaGrange when I was born, then we moved to Wheaton where I grew up, and I lived in Downers Grove during and after college (Columbia College Chicago). Now I'm way over on the West Coast, but my parents are still in Chicago, and the rest of my extended family is in MN so don't EVEN get me going on Bears-Vikings rivalry!
You've probably all covered this before, but which buildings are you all requesting? Are most of you doing preferred (60's, right?) to make it easier to stagger back to your rooms after the party? ;) I want to know where to look for everyone's doors, LOL. We stayed in the 70's last time, so I think I'll probably request that again.
4 weeks from today for us! :yay:

I didn't ask for a preferred room, I was just happy to get into POP. When I first made my ressies, POP was sold out and they put us in ASMu. I kept checking and about 3 weeks later, we got a room!! I do hope I'm in the 80's bldg since I'm a child of the 80's. I'll have to walk around each bldg to see what everyone's window looks like.

That's a fabulous idea about pouring the booze into a different bottle and packing it inside ziplock bags - I'm soo gonna do that!
Man, there's an awful lot of us Bears fans on here! When my dad moved to South Carolina, he gave up on the Cubs but not Da Bears. For a couple of years, he had me tape all the games and overnight him the tapes. Then, he found a bar down there that showed the games on one of their big screen TVs but he hated the cigarette smoke. Last year, he got a new car that had Sirius radio. So, every week, he would go sit in the car for three hours to listen to the game :rotfl2:
This year, for his birthday next month, we are getting him a cable package that includes the football games. He's always wanted that but is to cheap to buy it for himself!

I had the same thought, but took the 70's for my dh. Once in, I realized that you can't see much of the building that you're actually in. Where we were in the 70's building, I had a great view of the 80's building's rubik's cube out our window, so I was happy.
keliblue--ground floor requests are a great idea! I hadn't even thought about climbing all those stairs to find the doors and windows. We'll only be there one night, so our POP time is limited. Oh well, maybe it will help me lose the last couple of pounds I wanted to dump before I pig out on the free food!
aries1980 (and everyone else who already has their docs)--so jealous! I got the ME tags a while ago, but still no package. Come on already!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy Anniversary to others - and thanks for your wishes as well!!
I reserved prefered, because of Lady and The Tramp - dh and I started dating (in high school) when I was at WDW - I bought Lady and Tramp for us to remind us of our love  when we went to college! (yes, I am a romantic fool!! Esp for Disney - and hey, it must work for us - 26 years and going strong!) (while I was in wdw he used my itinarary to track me down to call the hotel to ask me to prom... )
and we didnt get Pop first either - we reserved asmu and then got moved!! (after many phone calls! Speaking of phone calls, I called wdw dining again - its going to be crowded!! Still no changes!!)
To funny about all the U of I grads!! DS#! graduates MAY - :cool1: Hoping DS#2 will graduate in 2010!!

Re: 10 yo boys -- I have an 8 yo ds and a 11 yo ds (had his b-day yesterday. 2 years ago we were in WDW on his b-day. Sniff.)
Re: room requests - - requested nearest to a parking lot and to classic hall. We are driving so we are hoping to be in a spot convenient to our van, yet not to far from the buses and food court. Sort of the "anti-preferred" request, but hoping it works.
Last time the CM requested 50s or 70s for us, and we were in 50s behind the Jukebox, ground floor, and it was a great spot. Not even that far to Classic Hall, and really convenient to our van.
Re: bad weather -- I was out driving in it when it hit here. :scared1:
I truly didn't realize how bad it was, until I was out and about this morning and saw all the trees down! Wow.
And one more thing -- my SIL fell and severly injured her knee this afternoon, and she is supposed to be going with us to WDW. Prayers for her recovery would be appreciated. She is at the hosp. right now getting it checked out and I have her kids. She has bad knees to begin with because she was in a really bad accident 3 years ago (almost died after being hit by a car) and her knees are always a source of pain. But this looks bad.
I am determined she will go with us, even if we have to wheel her around. But riding in a van 22 hours with a bum knee might be hard to do.
Holding out hope....

Sarah, gotta watch out for those sneaky storms!! Hope your SIL will be fine with a compression knee brace - it helps me!! If not go to the Disability board and consider renting an ecv from offsite - much easier and cost effective - esp at AK - that place is hot, and its so hard to push a wheelchair!!
great, gotta run ...........

You know for you "First Timers" they have a new button for you to wear!! I love seeing those buttons and commenting - They handed them out at the WL last year - but if Pop doesnt have them, make sure to get one at the City Hall - Guest Services!!

Still waiting, and thinking... I'm getting nervous about DD, I found out she'll miss picture day!! BUT, Picture day in the Fall is so families can have pictures for holidays, its not THE class picture day!! That's for the spring!! (and I rarely buy the Fall pictures!!)
So now dh and I keep hinting to dd - last night Travel Channel had a Disney show on.. so I teared up... DD laughed, MOM you're going in January...
and then dh fell asleep in the chair, and he woke up and said, I'm so exhausted, I really need a vacation!! DD just looked funny!! DH didnt have a great checkup so we're going to start using that to get dd to get used to the idea... we're going by PLANE to visit WDW!! she is so not going to like it!!

Anyone else going to MNSSHP on 9/21? It's our first one! Very excited for this! No costumes yet, still need to go look for some!
Any of you Bears fans planning on watching the game on Sunday night, 9/23 against Dallas? I'm not sure where we are going to watch it yet, but we probably will.
FYI, I was at the Factory Card Outlet yesterday and they had some LG streamers (Incredibles) for 25 cents! I bought a package for my window at POP so you'll recognize my window by a lime green Goofy & lime green streamers so far. Still working on it.......... Yes, you all convinced me to decorate a window. DH doesn't know it, he is going to think I'm crazy! DD has become attached to LG Goofy and wants to make sure the real Goofy sees him and takes a picture so he might be going to the parks with us at times :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Well, we always decorated our cabin doors on cruises (chatted with others on line and arranged meets etc too).
But having requested the back of building or lake view, not sure it's worth the effort or packing space to do anything on that scale this trip.
Especially if we end up on the third floor! :rotfl:
Maybe I'll cut some LGMHs out of poster board and bring along some double stick tape so we have something in case we end up in a pool side or main path room.
Love the LG streamers!! :thumbsup2

Bummer, seems like tons of people are going to MNSSHP on the 21st. We are going on the 28th.
We are huge Bears fans (even though we aren't from Chicago...) but we will probably try to go to ESPN on the day of the game to watch it, my DH Dad hate missing Sunday football. We could try to set up a meet if there are more people who want to watch the game.

Does anyone have any info on this? What are the dates? My mom mentioned it today but I haven't heard anything & don't know if it will be going on during the time we are there.
Thanks :)

That sounds like a great idea. I was thinking ESPN zone too. We are going to do MK in the morning and then probably take an afternoon break / swim. Probably head over to ESPN an hour or 2 before kickoff. What time is the game if it is 7:15 Central Standard time in Chicago? The good thing is it the Sunday night game so hopefully ESPN zone will clear out from the other games. Hopefully............

Thanks,

Well, we always decorated our cabin doors on cruises (chatted with others on line and arranged meets etc too).
But having requested the back of building or lake view, not sure it's worth the effort or packing space to do anything on that scale this trip.
Especially if we end up on the third floor! :rotfl:
Maybe I'll cut some LGMHs out of poster board and bring along some double stick tape so we have something in case we end up in a pool side or main path room.
Love the LG streamers!! :thumbsup2
We always walk around and look for other decorated windows ! It's one of our favorite things to do.

:sad1: So sorry about her knee - Last year when we were in WDW the wheelchair people could always go through the fast past lane without a pass. I know it doesn't make it better, but at least there is one good thing. I hope she recovers well. She will be in our prayers.

Hi everyone,
Haven't been online much lately. We will be at the party and will bring some type of punch or juice. Jenny is getting so excited and I know you all have something to do with it. 27 days to go.
DD is curious if there are any teens in "our group" of POPers.
SHe is 14 (freshman) and knows that few HS kids take vacation like 2 weeks after starting the school year. LOL
Jenny (BabyPiglet) is 15 years old. She will be there and I'm sure she will be friends with your DD.

Disneybren, this is the right place. Just jump in! Not sure what time folks will start arriving at the pool area on the evening of the 22nd. Many of us will swing by after dinner, fireworks, etc. There are a few getting together on the 24th to watch Fantasmic at Disney Studios. The most important things to know are plan to have lots of fun, where something lime green and deck yourself out in anything that GLOWS!

I'm kind of bumming a little bit because I don't think we'll be able to watch DA BEARS! with all of you :sad2: We have a super busy day on the 23rd and we have dinner reservations at Ohana at 5:00pm. [QUOTE=BabyPiglet;20487397]Hi. I'm 15 and I'd love to hang out with your daughter. =]
Thanks BabyPiglet & minnieand me for replies regarding teens - looks like newbie Brenda has a teen as well and I bet there are others.
DD was envisioning 20,000 preschoolers running around WDW. LOL :lmao:
Even though DH & I go on all the dark, loopy or scary rides, I understand how it can be more fun with a peer (couldnt convince any of her friends to ditch school this year).
We are debating about bringing the laptop. Read the threads with pros & cons and still cant make up our minds whether its worth lugging for use on plane & downloading pics. :confused3
We dont know yet if she will need it for homework. Our school policy states make up work must be given AFTER vacation but typically a few teachers will dance around that.
Can anyone confirm the POP room safes fit most laptops?

Morning...
Aries I agree with utahwendymama - those toes are so precious, print them in black and white and frame them!!
Laptops - dh took his laptop one year, and I thought dh needed ice in his nalgene bottle... which naturally sweated onto the laptop - after 4 days (and lots of panic from me, as well as dh!) he got it to work - so I'll add that warning... :rolleyes1 (and I didnt realize the laptop and water were in the same section...)
We stayed at POR and it fit, but barely - I would pose the question on the resort board - lots of people look over there and know stuff!! DH does bring his to download the pictures - many times I think its just a hassle, but he likes that part, and then dd can watch movies if she choses not to go to the fancier restaurants..
I know what you mean about rides and the dd - we do what she wants, but I'm sure she would enjoy it more with a peer once in awhile instead of her boring old parents all the time!!

Seems I am always catching up. Got home from the funeral late last night and found that a fellow DISer and dear friend's mil just passed away. We met under very odd circumstances, magical even, and I am not sure why we were meant to meet but maybe for the fact that I knew to get her mil into Hospice? For that alone it is a good thing.
DisneyMom5, I am so sorry to hear about your sil. I hope that all came out alright and she will be good to go, even if a bit slow, for your upcoming trip.
aries1980, what an adorable little girl! I second that emotion on the toes picture. It is a work of art and just like your daughter, so precious and innocent as well as lovely. :)
I am running behind on so many things. Guess I am getting the important things done but doubt I will do much decorating etc.
Would someone let me know what I can bring to the meets? I think I have scheduled to possibly be at all of the Sept ones. I will have a car so I can go pick up stuff last minute if need be. My husband has 'issues' so I am at the mercy of his mood of the day though. Most of the time he is a happy camper at DW. As long as there is food and someone to talk at he is content. :thumbsup2

Reading the Pop thread on resort board - found out the doors are indeed magnetic - and some people take the Lime Green Mickey Heads (ie LGMH) and add a magnet to the back for the doors...
Mugs someone measured that the mugs held 2 cups - and the bigger looking mug did NOT hold more than 2 cups!! Frozen coke machine goes "down" while it is trying to make more frozen coke - ie over use, it has to cycle..
No towels at the Pool??? (people bring towels themselves!) Mousekeeping is great about bringing you extra towels, and often the cart of towels is near elevators on your way to the pool!!
Welcome Back SG/Linda I asked about you a few pages back!! It sounds like a come as you are party!! I think Kelli is trying to make the Glow juice as simple as possible, vodka and OJ (?) and some are bringing juice for the non alcohol crowd - as well as a few are thinking snacks - I think Kelli suggested we could get snacks at Everything Pop food court as well - just keep it simple -
Looking forward to sitting and chatting as well!!

eeyore45, "Come as I am"?? Well considering that I am a 59 year old grandma who spends her life teaching children to read, taking care of grandkids and a husband who is Mr. Magoo's close relative AND reads a book a day, has a ribald sense of humor, does not wear shoes unless absolutely necessary and is a font of totally useless information I doubt that I could do otherwise. Thank you so much for the welcome back. Re: teenage girls -- my dd is 13.5. Actually, considering I have seven kids from 1 to 13, I probably have a kid that is the same age as any of the kids you might bring. :rotfl:
DD loves to chat, especially about WDW.
Not sure how late my kids will be there, going to have to play it by ear. I am hoping to at least make an appearance, but might have the whole crew there around 9 pm. See how long they make it. That's a lighter day for us, so there might be hope.
Re: My SIL with the injured knee - nothing broken, but may be soft-tissue/ ligament issues. Will see the doc this week. She's feeling down, but we're assuring her we can work around it.

Speaking of...I don't trust those nice boys for a moment. Dh's mom thought he did no wrong, and he was a little terror. Good thing I was attracted to his dark side. He really is a good boy, just with evil tendencies. :rolleyes1
AND...I live on the border with Indiana. NOT far enough! :sad2:
Look us back up in about 10 years. LOL
I love seatbelts too. And the fact that with a 15 passenger we have a little freedom to move around assigned seating if they are not getting along.
And they wonder why I love staying onsite and using the buses. After two days in our van, we are ready to let someone else drive! Sigh.

DisneyMom5, whew! There for a minute I was scared I might not like your kids. IASW is a nice ride but gets very boring with those kids just twirling round in the same circles all day long. I love those kids who think stuff and want to know 'why'? I do not always know the answer but that is how I learn stuff. From the mouths of babes. :thumbsup2
Moms always think their darlings can do no wrong, that is why we have adults. :lmao:
The reason we started going to DW all the time is the buses. I did not learn to drive until late in life and am directionally challenged and that was the only place I could find and then when I got there I could 'ride the bus and leave the driving to 'us'!:woohoo:
It is also why we stay at the Sports. When I get to the end of the road, there I are!

Morning everyone,
I just ordered my tickets for MNSSHP. At first I wasn't sure if we'd be able to go, but we're all set now. This is my time going and I'm excited about seeing all the decorations.
I finally hit the teens; anybody wanna join in :dancer: It's also my DS birthday. He's 9 now so I guess I need to change my siggie. I was teasing him this morning telling him he's an old man now. His last year for being a single digit. How fast the time flies by. I remember it just like it was yesterday when he was born. So since he won't have a party this year, he gets to pick where he wants to have dinner. His favorite is steak, so off to Longhorn we go.
SlightlyGoofy

minnieandme, your son and my grandson sound just alike. From the time he got his first tooth he loved steak. :)
If you think the time has flown by fast so far just you wait! My baby is 6'5" and is 36 years old. I am still working on getting rid of that 'baby' weight though!
I bet you will have a blast at MNSSHP. Unless you want to be surprised you might enjoy doing a Google/video/DisneyWorld/Halloween search and see the parade. It is what convinced me to actually go to MNSSHP myself.

Goofy candy company question
Is the only goofy candy co located in DTD or is there more than one. Also can you use snack credits there? Or is it cheap enough to purchase stuff OOP?

I THINK there is only one Goofy Candy Co in DTD, but it seems like they sell the same candies everywhere in Disney. I may be wrong :confused3
As for snack credits, here is a link to everything you can use snack credits for. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1109080

:bday: to your ds!!!
I know what you mean about them growing up so fast...every passing year it makes me happy to see my children growing into lovely people but it also saddens me because far too soon I will no longer be able to scoop up my one year old in arms and kiss her cheeks as she laughs hysterically or hear the words " I love you, mommy" from my 4 year old...it makes me :sad1: just thinking about it.
SG: You're too funny :lmao: I'm with you on the baby weight!
I'll join you in dancing :dance3: You're in the teens :woohoo:
Yeahh, I'm glad you're going to be able to make it to MNSSHP! It's our first time too and it seems like it's going to be a blast! I still have to get working on what we're going to wear!

LorilieMarie is correct, they sale that stuff at all the resorts and on Main Street USA. We used a ton of credits there before we went home. We bought whole bags of Peanut Brittle (DH's favorite) Gummy Bears, Sour Patch.. :) you name it, they had it . Anything under $4 dollars.

I've been checking out the restaurant board and someone posted a pic of chocolate covered strawberries. I can't wait to get my hands on that. I love chocolate and I love strawberries, so the both of them together is a marriage made in heaven :cloud9: We'll probably end up stocking up on snacks too before we leave.

The goofy candy company in DTD may do something different? :confused3 I was reading Dining reviews from resomenumber from Scotland - great reviews btw - and she posted pics of getting special/made to order marshmellows or cookies dipped in chocolate, or sprinkles, or mini m&m's etc... she said they were a snack credit!!
I must stay away from there!!
also someon had a monorail in their siggy = WITH the resorts!!

Good morning all! I have a quick question for you POP experts. Is there any type of bar / lounge area at Pop to watch football games? I hear ESPN zone gets really packed and we would probably have to cab it back after the game is over on Sunday night, 9/23.
Just wondering if there is anywhere at POP to watch the game.
Thanks!

OMG! That is amazing! The only worry we ever had when Matt was Union was if he was ever laid off for an extended period of time, his Insurance lapsed! That sucked! Hopefully, the painters do that differently. I don't suppose you guys will be coming down to Princeton to walk the Labor Day parade?

I hope you had as productive a day as I did.

Not being able to pack drives me crazy! :crazy2: So what I do is buy new socks, new undies, new make-up, 2nd curling iron, etc. and pack the new stuff. Then I have a short list of what to pack at the last minute. (like the only 3 pairs of shorts that I can find to fit me!)

I only posted it as an image, not as a signature line - feel free to "snag" it (as in right click it with your mouse, then "save as" in your picture file - its what I did when I saw it - - I thought of you!! Someone on the Dis has it as their siggy line!! Just wait till a mod sees it!) You can reduce it - Kelli will have to explain it tho!
How did this come about?
DD - drama ie fear of flying? Its because United kept us on a plane for close to 12 hours and landed and waited, flew, only to land and wait.. tarmeck after tarmack(and at each take off and landing poor dd threw up we flown 3 other times with no upset tummy) - United then gave us vouchers to fly again within 12months - this is how I plan on going in 24 ish days!
if its about the Buzz lightyear websight - that is a Dis'er who is wonderful at sharing!! I remember those big score hits - I like getting those big numbers!! Just wanted to share!!

Linda, she will be 11 while we're down there - and I dont know what to do - she hardly sleeps at all (goes to bed earlyish - but cant sleep when she is obsessing over one thing or another - sometimes she only gets 3-4 hours of sleep a night - someone told me it has to do with high IQ's :rotfl2: all those great millionares hardly sleep!! (dh and I take turns, she hates to be the only one awake in the house - so she comes into our room crying she is still awake - help!! reminds me of a chinese water torture!!)
I hope I can "medically drug" her per our pediatrician... its my only hope.. until then I'm hoping to convince her that her mind is powerful and if she really really and truly wants to go to Disney... she must accept a 2 hour plane trip!!
We have reservations at CP on MNSSHP night also! Ours is at 5:55. Are you going the 21st?
I think we are going to CP on the 21 around that time!! Still havent decided about MNSSHP - it will be up to dd - and I know I'll be able to buy tickets that night - so I'm waiting, if she doesnt go, I will save a lot of money!!

My DD will soon be 11 also, and also hates planes. The medicines really help. I try to make the flight fun by playing Disney games (everyone has 15 minutes to write down every ride they can think of - 1 point for every one the other person didn't get), or we talk about our plans. She still hates it but wouldn't give up a Disney trip for it. I would explain that the odds of her being on that plane for 12 hours again are very very low. I hope it goes well for you. See you at CP. It will be just me and DD - dressed as pirates! pirate: pirate:

Just what are these miracle drugs you speak of?! My DD 7 (see picture below) throws up on any car ride longer than 40 minutes. And we live inthe mts. of PA. so any trip to the mall is a good 45 minutes. We take heavy duty plastic bags and a change of clothes with us wherever we go! Lucky for me though, airplanes don't bother her at all...go figure. We just took a 4 hour trip to the beach and she barfed 4 times!! Sooo...what are these drugs and are they safe for a 7 year old? My DS 11 ( see my avatar...he's the one on the right, not the big black faced furry one!) will be sooo happy if we can stop her from vomiting since he is the one who has to sit next to her in the car. I always loot the plane for those airbag sickness bags to keep in my car.
As for packing...I am an overplanner and I should be packing right now but I'm suprising my kids with this trip so I have to pack on the sly just before we go. Yikes, it's killing me...

I am looking forward to the pool meet. What is needed? We will be staying at Pop from the 21st-26th and are all from Maryland. We are having a girls trip. Several friends that met working at the Disney store many years ago. None of us work there anymore but we have remained friends.
Does anyone like to pin trade? I mainly just trade with cast members but I have alot of old pins from 2000 and 2001 when this all started.

I have a CP reservation that night too...I think it is at 5:15? I will check and get back....my kids will be the toddlers in the Mickey halloween print rompers (that my DH says look like dresses, and refuses to let them wear, good thing he won't be there!). I m just finishing them up now, I will post a pic when they are done, so you all can spot us at the party.

WELL....now my MIL is in the hospital. Sigh.
She also is supposed to be in WDW with us in 3 weeks.
She is a cancer survivor, and has had kidney issues since her surgery and treatment 5(?) years ago. She went in to have a routine procedure to have a stent replaced for her kidney, and ended up having heart issues (wrong rhythm?), THEN, when they did blood tests, her creatin (sp? kidney related) was too high, her hemoglobin too low, and something with her potassium?
So off to ICU she went.
I guess she is stable this a.m. and levels are getting better, but SHEESH.
Dh felt comfortable enough with the report he got to go into work.
I just want her to be ok, and not be sick. It's hard to go back to worrying about her. We've been spoiled by the last few years of good health.
And this on top of her dd, my SIL having the incident with her knee.
SIGH.
I just want to go to WDW. We have been planning this grand gathering for TWO years!!!
I will take prayers from those who believe. And words of encouragement from everyone.
Last night I couldn't even listen to the kids talk about WDW without feeling nauseated.
We're soooo close!!! :sad2:

Oh, thanks!
FIL called "If we can't go, can we get our $ back?" I said don't stress, that's why we have insurance.
Then later he called to say she is improving, and that her doctor said "Don't you worry, we'll get you to FL!" :goodvibes

kGreat Buzz Lightyear hint website - its from a Dis'er , shows the targets to aim for to get that high high score!!
http://www.badshoe.com/BuzzLightyearSpin.htm
I read somewhere that if you just hold the button down, you score more points. That's how my DS when he was 5 beat me.
BabyPiglet, I am correct that you are a teen? If so, I am impressed at your maturity. I need a granddaughter. I got these nasty old boys. Would not trade them for the world but sure would like something with a ribbon and a bow around once in awhile.
Slightly Goofy
She sure is mature huh. I keep forgetting that she's not one of the moms on this thread.
Im holding off on packing because most of the stuff I will be taking with me I use day to day. Also cant pack any clothes because we wear them, i only have like 2 pair of capis and one pair of shorts that I REALLY like and so I cant back them yet cause Im still wearing them.... and will be up until the day we leave :)
I sure wish I could start packing or something cause I feel like Im at a stand still, with nothing to do except wait *twiddles thumbs*;)
Have you thought about packing some of your toiletries? Make a list and start putting stuff in your suitcase. There's always something that you tend to forget and this way, you'll have plenty of time before you leave.

Morning, everyone!
DisneyMom5- :tinker: Sending lots of prayers and pixie-dust! I'm glad that it sounds like your MIL is doing a little better and will be able to make it to WDW!
On the subject of packing, I really need to start getting the girls stuff packed. As for myself since I need to wear whatever clothes I have, will also have to wait last minute to pack my things.
Amanda, my dd doesn't start school until next week Tuesday and I'll probably tell her school sometime next week. But for her, it won't be that bad because she's just in pre-school. I've been reading some awful stories about some schools really coming down hard on parents for pulling their kids out of school for vacation :scared1: I hope your dc's school is understanding! :goodvibes

They have a large screen TV in the food courts at the AS but I think they usually show Disney movies. Not sure if they are cable capable. That would be good but a fight might break out over what to watch!
minnieandme, those chocolate covered strawberries have me salivating also and I even know how to make them!! EZ
keliblue, I got all my chores done for the day and when I got home the guys were here tearing off the garage roof and are already tacking up the new shingles. One more thing off the list. I also remembered to call for prescription refills. So much to do, so little time!! I live for that moment when the garage door comes down and we are gone. I hope you had as productive a day as I did.
BabyPiglet, I have read of many of the CS places being open during the party and if you have a seating you are guaranteed a meal and you will not have to rush either! Looking forward to meeting you. :woohoo:

Karen
Karen - The drug I was referring to is Dramamine. (I tried to type the actual name in my first post, but didn't know how to spell it!) You can buy it anywhere and it says for adults and children 12 years and over. My doctor said it is fine for my DD at the age of 9 to take 1 pill. She is so much taller than most kids her age, so she weighs a lot more, allowing her to take some adult medicine. I would just ask the pharmacist. I also take it just in case.

We are on a year-round school cycle. My daughter has school Sept 20th, but is off Sept 21st - Oct 12th. We always run into people from school in WDW because it's a great time to go and they have the time off. My daughter comes home saying "I over heard this Mom talking to this Mom and she said "Do you have the dining plan?" or "You're staying on site, aren't you?" She knows what they are talking about!;)

Well, I made it back to Portland yesterday morning. My DH stayed in Alaska until the day we leave to go to WDW because he wanted to go moose hunting & fishing. How nice of him...now I have the little guy (Hunter) to myself for 3 weeks and I'm going crazy on day #2. For those of you who are single moms, you just gained soooooo much respect from me. I don't know how you do it.
I'll catch up on all the posts this afternoon, I need to try to get some things unpacked so that I can free up my bags for WDW packing :)
Hope you have a great afternoon.

Karensokool - about the car sickness - GINGER - ginger snap cookies, ginger ale, and ginger candy all help settle the tummy (I take ginger tablets from the Health food store!) My dad also had severe car sickness, his mom made him suck on lemons!! It worked for him, when I had morning sickness I remembered the lemon trick and ate lemon candy - that really helps too!!
I'm going to try and get dd to swallow so she can take dramamine, as well as ginger and lemon drops!!
:grouphug: Becky - take a tip from Preschool teachers and the nanny - have a schedule, make sure to include arts and crafts - keep him busy and entertained and the time will go by much faster!!
Farrah I figure I have to tell DD before I tell her school!! :rotfl2: Either way, I'm not looking forward to it!! Sept 4 is Back to School Nite for Parents only, so I may 'discuss' it then!! Last year I only told the Nurse (she keeps track of attendence) and I told her I was dreading telling the teachers for fear of back lash - she poopooed the idea and told me not to worry, she'll take care of it!! :yay: So I may talk to her first!!

Ok that's dh, he is a computer person, but doesnt post on message boards!!
I agree with Sunshine (WOOHOO on 1,000 :dance3: ) go to photobucket.com and create an account... then all you do is click on upload photos and up pops a window from your computer and you have to remember where on your computer you stored the photo! (that's my problem!! I right click on pictures and lose them!!) then click ok on your computer - and then on the photobucket site click upload and tadaa!!
and then it is the last line of text you copy and then paste over here - works like magic!!
I also found that if you go in to edit your post however the picture can disappear from your post!! and on photobucket you might want to make your album "private" so if someone reads your picture they dont go to your photobucket account to make mischief!

Have the markers - they are light, and fun to play with!!
I also like those gel stiky things too!! I saw some glow in the dark stickers at Target $1 area... probably one more week before we start seeing Halloween decorations - I say the week after Labor Day - or the Day after :rotfl2:

LorilieMarie, I love that poster! Doubt I have the time or the talent to do such but I will look out for it and you!:woohoo:
DisneyDeeva, those crayons sound good but you not only have to have artistic ability but be able to draw backward so it will appear correctly on the other side of the window. I have a friend who does the drawings on the local library windows. I, myself, can only draw flies. :confused3
The roofers will be here shortly and should finish the roof tonight. I am fixing them dinner and some neighbors are coming over so that I do not have leftovers. Someone HAS to take the potato chips home so I am not left alone with them. Bad things happen when potato chips are around. I am allergic to them (and many other foods). They make me SWELL up!

Hello all! Hope everyone is doing well! What is a good room location / building to request? I like peace & quiet to sleep so I know I want a room facing away from the pools, but I think I'd like a ground floor room too for convenience. Any suggestions? We have a standard room, not preferred. Thanks!
This is our 3rd year going and we always book Standard too. We request Ground floor, Close to Classic Hall:) That way you are away from the pool but not out in the boonies:sad2:
Sorry for so many posts!!!! I wanted to learn how to do this!
Thank you so much Eeyore45 and AKSunshine!
That will be on our door - It is a posterboard and that is all pieced and glued. It's hard to tell by the pic. My poster is done, but my house is a mess!
I don't know how I'm going to hang it yet....probably tape and then bring a good cleaner to get the yucky off.
What a great poster :goodvibes Mine is looking pathetic now :rolleyes1
Okie Doke. =]
LorilieMarie that poster is awesome and puts shame to my little lime green one! Oh well. But I'll definitely look out for it. =]
So girlies [and guys] how do you all feel about snabbing free dining? I'm assuming all of you got it because the party is on the 22nd. =)

hey everyone,
18 days till disney :cool1:
Has anyone told their childs school yet about the trip ? I think i will wait till Sept 3 before telling them about the trip, that will give the teachers 2 weeks to get the work together for my kids:thumbsup2 . When do you guys plan on telling your child schools :confused3
~AmandA
No judgements here, I took my kids out more than once for vacations, but are we asking a lot of their teachers to put a vacation school work packet together? I've always asked for whatever they could give me but I felt rather guilty. Not only am I taking them out of school but I want you to take extra time to give me their work for the week too? Kids are older now so it's a moot point for me. What do you think?
Oh, and the Glow Party Medical curse has hit my family too. I spent today at the hospital with my Dear Uncle (practically raised me). Had a small cancerous spot removed from his bladder last year and his last checkup indicated abnormal cells. Went in for a biopsy today. Thank the Lord, the doctor says everything looks fine but we'll know more when the lab results come back. Ok, send some pixie dust back this way!
And some back to you Kelli, I know you're coming. The party won't glow without you!!!!

Thanks for all the compliments on the poster - I have to admit I have a machine that cuts all that stuff out (cricut). It's for scrapbooking. I will get markers and use BIG Magnets.
I love the washable window marker idea - I'm going to look for those!
Keli - I am only thinking positive thoughts and prayers for you - can't wait to see you in WDW. ;)

Don't know if anyone has seen these already...
But, when I was at the store today, I saw that Crayola has something called washable window markers. Those of you with kids may have already seen these. But, for me, it was an exciting find.
I haven't seen them before! That sounds really cool! I'll have to keep an eye out for them. Hmm, then again I don't want my 4 year old to think she can write all over the house with markers :rotfl:

I like peace & quiet to sleep so I know I want a room facing away from the pools, but I think I'd like a ground floor room too for convenience. Any suggestions? We have a standard room, not preferred. Thanks!
All we requested last time was standard, 50s or 70s (this was before they were partly preferred.) We were ground floor behind the jukebox in the 50s. It was awesome.
Only one room away from the jukebox, and therefore the pool, but quiet because it didn't face the pool.
Hoping for something like that again. Requested near parking lot AND classic hall, standard.
Because we are a grand gathering, I will take just about anything as long as we get our one set of connecting rooms and all the rooms are close to each other [next to each other would be awesome!], but don't tell WDW that, because I am still holding out hope for a great location AND togetherness. :cool1:
PS - MIL keeps improving. Thanks for your prayers! :goodvibes

:sad2:
i am so sorry about all of the trouble with your mil i work in healthcare, and it is amazing how the human body under stress can react. hopefully the dr's have caught problems and corrected them so she can get better. my prayers with you ma'am:wizard:

love (lŭv) pronunciation
n.
1. A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness.
Yep, just thought I had better check. Kelliblue, we DO loveyou!

DisneyMom5, bet your mil is wanting to get better fast too! I hope she continues in the right direction and for a very long time to boot!!
Garage roof done and paid for. Now I have the clean up to do. Why did no one tell me that the inside of the garage was going to get dirty too? I just finished cleaning the darned thing and now I have it all to do over again. I am also stuck with a couple of bags of shingles that have to be put up in the rafters and I can no longer manage that myself. Anyone know how to levitate? :wizard:
Freezers defrosted today and everything put in alphabetical order. Did you know I am German? I am the good kind though. I would make the trains run on time but am not interested in making anyone, let alone whole countries, march to my tune. Heck, I can barely hum a tune. :dance3:

I'm single and I post everyday
I'm a single parent and yes it is hard. You wanna know the hardest part; it's going back to work when you have a newborn baby and still having to get up at 2am for feedings. I think I got maybe 3 hours of sleep at night. You gotta do what you gotta do.
I can't even imagine. When Hunter was first born I could barely function & I was lucky to have my DH there to help me out. I'm definitely taking the advice of others on here & trying to get a schedule set up for Hunter so that I can keep him busy & occupied throughout the day.

LorilieMarie, I yam what I yam. I do not know any other way to be. It is either laugh at life or sit with my thumb in my mouth (or a gun). I have a fairly extensive vocabulary because I read an average of a book a day :coffee: but if you promised me money for each long word or laugh I would freeze up and not be able to deliver at all. It is the way I am built, I guess. An acquired taste is what I are.
I am fast typist but cannot hear hardly anything so I think I am different in person somewhat. Who knows??:yay:
